  1. Not sure. Spotrac has it listed as a club option.
  2. Yes. Griffen is almost certainly going to hit the market—they don’t even have to cut him; it’s a team option and they gain 100% cap relief if they don’t pick it up.
  3. Happens...the peepers fail sometimes. I remember when I said that Everson Griffen couldn’t win one-on-ones and was grossly overpaid at $7M ? Speaking of grossly overpaid, how ‘bout the Cards giving DJ Humphries $15M AAV?!?! Permit me to challenge that thought process just a smidgen? Isn't a deep WR class a good reason to deal a 1st? The idea being that you can very likely get a long-term starter in round 2?
  4. Dude...doesn’t make contested catches? Diggs? https://www.pff.com/news/pro-ranking-the-nfls-top-receivers-in-contested-catch-situations I mean, I know it’s PFF and all, but, dude...
  5. Yup. He’s progressively gotten better every year. He averaged a ridiculous 12.0 yards per target in 2019, which makes him a great fit for a QB that was top-5 in air yards per attempt.
  6. Can’t steal what’s already yours. And they could easily get under by declining Griffen’s option. Yep
  7. Definitely a 1st. WR1 acquired and under contract for decent money. Move onto FA.
  8. I wasn’t fixated on Armstead. I was wondering why you’re okay with him when he actually does display the worrisome trait of being unable to produce without a bulk of elite talent around him, as you insinuated with Clowney. And I don’t think that sign-average-plus-draft-and-hope is the way to go. They should be targeting the best EDGE player they can get in FA.
  9. What do you consider “average” money? And why should Buffalo settle for an average player?
  10. He’s not above average. He’s a barely average player that had one anomalous year because he played with 4 other first round picks. And I would love to know (a) what “reasonable” money is for a 25 year old pass rusher, and (b) why Buffalo needs to settle for paying “reasonable” money to an “above average” player.
  11. Didn’t Ben Albright tell us it was down to Washington and Seattle?
  12. How so? If assume that Hughes is on the team, then Murphy is, at the moment, no worse than DE2. If the team were to keep Shaq, then Murphy is no worse than DE3 (of course, this all ignores the fact that Murphy played more snaps than either Hughes or Shaq in 2019). If the team then also adds a FA, then Murphy is no worse than DE4. So unless the plan is to sign 2 FA DEs at $10M plus and re-sign Shaq, then I don’t see how your situation comes to fruition.
  13. Well there’s that too, but I’m more mystified by the inconsistency of thought. No Clowney because bad sack numbers unless JJ plays (which isn’t even true) but happy with Armstead despite low sack numbers unless he’s surrounded by 4 other 1st round picks on the DL.
  14. Wait, you don’t want to pay Clowney because he doesn’t produce unless he’s alongside JJ Watt, but you think Armstead is “trending up” because he finally had a good season sack-wise, in a contract year, playing alongside Ford, Bosa, and Buckner??? What.
  15. Indeed. I still think that Addison would be in play as well—arguably the most consistent pass rusher of the last 4 seasons among the FAs. Plus they’ve got familiarity with him.
  16. Just remember: the GM that wanted to pay him like an elite EDGE is employed by another team’s front office...
  17. So, about my boy Greenard...
  18. Nor did I say that it was definitive. What I am saying is that NFL GMs know that production goes beyond the stat sheet, and that’s why Clowney is going to get PAID.
  19. So you weren’t wrong that he only produces when Watt is playing on the other side? Got it. If you only go by the stat sheet, you’re going to miss a lot. Guess why Clowney is going to get paid? Because he’s worth it to NFL GMs. The same guys that knew Stephon Gilmore was worth it when legions of angry Bills’ fans said he wasn’t.
  20. You don’t need to make your team worse to get money for an upgrade. This team can basically get whatever they want done in FA (money-wise) without a single cut. Unless you need the money, you shouldn’t make your team worse. For me, it’s that simple.
  21. I would take Nigel Bradham back in a heartbeat.
  22. Once again, you can do all of that AND keep Murphy, and you’ll be a better team than cutting him to gain cap space that you don’t need. In your scenario, who would you rather have at DE4: Johnson, Love, or Murphy? Honestly it isn’t close.
  23. You don’t need to let him go to get a FA. You can keep him AND get a FA. He may not be something special, but he’s clearly better than their current DE4.
  24. Someone still needs to explain to me how this team is better in 2020 without Murphy.
