I guess I’m not understanding what you’re saying here. Yes, he has good hands and is physical. Yes, he’s a good athlete. What I’m trying to understand is how those traits translate to Daboll’s scheme—one that requires not only precise route-running, but a variety of break techniques, leverages, etc to execute the concepts.

Jags unlikely to allow Yannick Ngakoue to test FA

He’s on Twitter today arguing with 9er fans that want Clowney over him that they should shut up because they aren’t front office employees ? -
Well, do think that a run on QBs and OTs in the top 10 is possible, and that could create a situation where the first WR hasn’t yet come off the board when the Jets are on the clock at 11. In that case, you could see Beane work the phones to move up, but you more or less have to get to TB at 14, because any of the Jets, Colts, Raiders, Broncos, and Cowboys could easily look at WRs.

Good stuff One other item to consider in such analysis is how often the Bills run up-temp/no-huddle. In general, when you go up-tempo, you’re picking a protection set (Most commonly split or slide) and sticking with it. Very difficult to adjust on the fly, which does give pass rushers a bit of an advantage against OLmen—the prevailing wisdom is that the pace of the offense will exhaust the pass rushers and offset their relative advantage of knowing the protection. But... If the QB is a bit behind in reading the D, then the exposure to the pass rush will be accentuated more so.

Should Buffalo Trade for Alshon Jeffrey

Why would Philly trade him? -
And it ain’t close IMO. Aside from the otherworldly top gear that Ruggs has, he runs tight routes and understands leverages. Basically, take all of the things that make Laviska dynamic with the ball in his hands, and Ruggs has them—save for the RB-like build and contact balance. 1:23 of this video says it all regarding Ruggs’ speed. He’s backpedaling and manages to sprint away from the defender. Unbelievable.

Hard to ask for more than that for a 34 year old DE whose numbers are declining, carries a $15M cap hit to his new team, and whose old team is going to cut him anyway. At least that’s the argument I’m making if I’m negotiating with them. -
McShay - Bills pass on WR and take RB Swift in 1st.

Breida is Restricted I believe. They can tender and trade. -

Will they pony up for both he and DJ? That’s a lot of $$ tied up in RBs -

They're incorrect. $20M is the number per Spotrac, OTC, and this article: https://gargoyle.flagler.edu/2019/10/a-way-too-early-look-at-jacksonvilles-2020-offseason/ -

Also, I’m really starting to think that Beane may trade for a RB. There are a few out there that fit the mold of speedy-yet-tough-veteran that are expendable on their current teams. I immediately think of: Giovany Bernard Malcolm Brown Matt Breida Jamaal Williams I think any of the 4 could be a solid roster addition and potential RB1a to insulate the position from having to reach for need in the draft. Still draft a guy, but do it because he’s at the top of your board. -

Yep, sounds right. Same as Alex Smith to KC. -

No thanks. I think Shaq is a good player, but I’m not paying $10M per for a non-pass rusher. I wasn’t hot on paying it to Hughes, but understood the need for roster options. I think Campbell gets moved for a 5th—just a guess. And yeah, he’s a one-year stopgap, but with him/Hughes/Murphy/Edmunds you’ve got a very solid quartet of pass rushers without having to hope for Darryl Johnson to develop or a draft pick to light up the league. -

Yeek. I’ll pass on AA. Not a big fan of dudes with one year of production. If they don’t land Campbell in a trade, I suspect they’ll leverage the Carolina connection and bring in Mario Addison. People are totally sleeping on that dude. Better numbers than Ngakoue over the last 4 years. -
? That was going to be my “Bandit Special” pick in my mock draft.

They’d have time to clear room for picks, but their HC and GM that are squarely in the firing line would have zero ability to add talent in FA. -

That means that Calais Campbell can be ours for a song. Do it.
