  1. Im not sure how much teams value the difference between #2 and #3 when it compares to rest and preservation of health. Didnt the Bills rest starters a few years ago in this situation? (My memory is hazy)
  2. In my opinion, football, especially tackle football, is a silly participation sport for youngsters. Positions are very specialized. You do not touch the ball often, if at all, and there is a crappy 'macho' element a lot of coaches try to instill in the whole culture. Football is something that good athletes can pick up in high school and excel at if they want to. Other sports require a lot more skills development at a younger age to excel in high school.
  3. If it is the Jets... and they go to KC and beat the Chiefs, then win in Buffalo, and win in Cincinnati, then beat the Eagles in the Superbowl... I think I would be OK with it.
  4. Again, I don't see the league putting a forfeit on the Bills for this. It seems very crass and wouldn't be good PR. They shouldnt get a loss because it was their player who happened to go into cardiac arrest and everyone involved in the game was too emotionally drained to even think about continuing the game. The Bengals would look bad too because if a forfeit was given, they would essentially need to say/admit that they wanted to finish the game but the Bills refused to. My bet would be on this not being played nor counted in the standings. It isn't so clean, but it is the easiest path.
  5. I can't imagine the nfl will make the bills take a forfeit unless they as a team decide they can't play the remainder of the season or something. It would be a bad look to give a team a loss as a result of this situation. I don't believe Cincinnati would be comfortable taking a free win on the back of a near on-field death
  6. My guess is that this game will not be played and win % will be used.
  7. Taylor seemed to conduct himself in a compassionate and classy manor. Not saying other coaches wouldn't have done the same, but he looked genuine. I'm a fan of his.
  8. Miami fans will probably blame this collapse on their (injury prone) quarterbacks getting hurt, and they are really in better shape than buffalo
  9. I can't imagine the Meltdown in dolphins land after this disaster. 5 straight losses
  10. Buckeyes played a great game. That was not targeting/a penalty. Great defensive play.
  11. Those were 2 of the most exciting football games you can have. Great job by all the athletes. Terrific stuff
  12. I have put a lot of thought into it. 100% I would want to witness the game here in buffalo and participate in the possible revelry afterward
  13. I like Carr. Seems like a good dude.
  14. Mayfield will spontaneously combust at the podium by week 5 playing in the NYC market. The Patriots are an interesting one. Lots of cap room. It does seem like they have a ton of holes, a very average roster... but somehow remain competitive. I wonder if they can dislodge Lamar Jackson. If Im a Patriots fan, Im really hoping they can belichick and rebuild the football program with a modern-day executive/coach. The Dolphins dont concern me too much. They are good, but they are a 1-2 trick pony: WR speed and good pass rush. That is easily beat and probably maxes out at 9-11 wins in any season. They also have a short window. The Jets are a bit of a concern with their young playmakers. With Jimmy G or something (if he can stay healthy), I can see them becoming kind of a San Francisco East type of team. Just a pain in the butt. The Bills were 1 game out in 2007 as well.
  15. It's high times as a bills fan. Hope it lasts a long time, but never should be taken for granted. The jets actually concern me more long-term than the Dolphins.
  16. There are more capable quarterbacks now than ever imo. As mentioned, I think you can really run into trouble on the o-lines. You would be more likely to see some putrid o-lines in the league which would ruin that team(s).
  17. I've never seen Grand Island walloped like this.
  18. He is not on the Mt Rushmore. I don't believe he was all that "can't miss" and was drafted more on potential and skill set. It does probably stings for jets fans that they don't have fields I'd say akili Smith, mandarich, Joey Harrington, Ryan leaf, David Carr, boz, Andre ware, tim couch, and maybe same Bradford were all worse busts and would be more memorable candidates for the Mt Rushmore of busts.
  19. I hope you maintain power. Nothing gets my anxiety up like the failed sump and finished (uninsured/un-permitted) basement issue. My sump failed about a month before the construction of the basement during a 4 day rain event. It wasn't pretty. With the new sump, I got the battery backup hooked up to the water line. Still anxious about it. Might splurge for the full-on backup generator this summer
  20. I can vouch for Hulu live having an awful interface and youtube TV much better
  21. I wasnt comfortable with Apple getting it either. Over time I have had nothing but bad experiences with all their proprietary hardware and software, attempting to force you into their ecosystem. I doubt they would just give the package away out of the goodness of their heart without re-couping the money out of our wallets. Not super pleases about Youtube TV/google, but at least im a PC/android/google user.
  22. This 100%. 2 more. When someone parks their cart and stares at items on the shelf as if they are making a decision their life depends on and are taking up 8 linear feet of shelf space. I can see the 1 specific item I want/need but I have to wait for the Walking Dead to get out of the way. When we are leaving the store to the front of the checkout lanes and the person in front of me's brain starts malfunctioning and they just stop to either check their receipt, or adjust items in their purse.
  23. Its poetic justice, but the Patriots are a perfect reflective image of the drought-era Bills. Now, complete with jarring bone-headed losses that leave fans shaking their heads... but also fools everyone into thinking you are good enough to win games. They are now a behind-the-times nepotistic crusty old football program. Coached and built just well (if it were 1956) enough to win between 40 to 55% of their games, and reactively plugging holes that appear each offseason only to see more pop up. Never bad enough to truly get a good look at a cant-miss QB prospect or collect other high-end talent. Quarterback purgatory.
  24. The bills got lucky on maybe 3 "coin flip" dpi calls when they were on defense on some pivotal plays. I'll give them that.
  25. It would have happened anywhere. There was a copious amount of snow, perfect for packing snowballs waiting inside the stadium for 70,000 people, many of which were drinking alcohol for several hours. If I had to choose and could press a button to control everyone's mind to have no snowballs, I'd choose that. But it was what it was and will go down in the lore of big games in that stadium. There is quite a bit of irony that the Dolphins were the opponent. That game in week 3 could have been a life threatening situation and it's frankly gross they put the opposition through that purposely. Especially in the first half, the Dolphins side was getting blasted with snow. When the players and coaches broke for the half, the contrast between the sides (tons of snow/residual snowball hits on the turf vs a totally clean bills side) was kind of funny.
