  1. You have to remember, the plan isnt going to just parachute McDavid into this team and expect them to do well. We have a glut of prospects, most of which arent even playing right now... those that are are firmly in the getting their beaks wet phase and are developing. Reinhart is 18. Look at Grigorenko. He is looking like a top shelf guy now. At 18 he was lost. Lots of those guys will be up next year, some will probably be traded for Vets as we will have a ton of cap space. Not to mention 2 other 1sts this season. You also have to expect the whole team to be better when you dont have Mazeros (sp) and Benoit screwing up everywhere. We also need one of the 6 goalie prospects to emerge in the coming years. Likely next season will be bad, but much better (like 9th-12th in the Conference)... then after that is the "window". McDavid so far this season is having a Gretzky-like year. Not saying he is anywhere close, but he lost his linemates and is lighting it up more than ever.
  2. Yeah, its a cool sports bar IMO. (regular size) TVs, bubble hockey, some other arcadey type games... IMO great wings.
  3. Duffs in OP is a sports bar. never been there on a gameday though
  4. It just takes the right guy with a couple seasons of sustained success. These guys who were here last season were a product of Turner Gill's last season. did you know Branden Oliver is Roscoe's cousin? Anyways, you just need the right guy here and try to make him want to stay, and if he leaves, dont replace him with a clown-coach
  5. would they automatically be a good FCS team?
  6. they nearly won the conference last season, and the Basketball team won their division and probably should have won the MAC. Didnt they also get like $1 Million (and exposure) for playing at the Horseshoe? They lost a big and well attended game at RWS (they were terribly outcoached by Dave Clawson). There was the start of a buzz about the team. Some hype for the "Idaho Potato Bowl". The right hire here, who isnt a clown, and players like, can be huge. A few sustained seasons could do wonders. This Quinn was like a characture of a coach. if you heard him on the radio, it was like he was playing a character. It would drive me nuts as a recruit and a player... From a athletic dept employee I heard his 1st practice there he was so hard on the guys there was a players meeting and many wanted to transfer out of there... (they thought it was a great thing to be a hard-line coach... but I dunno it seemed over the top). I have an acquaintance with one top echelon, well-known former Bull and he was ready to quit due to this staff.
  7. what's the motivation for dropping down again?
  8. That stadium is a noose around the program. I love college football. I like the MAC. I would love to go. That stadium is the worst venue I have ever been witness to for any sport... and that includes the St Petes dome for hockey. You literally feel like you are a mile from the game, even in the "best" seats. Its just not enjoyable. I would go often if the venue was not awful.
  9. Whenever I heard Quinn on the radio I would get db chills. He spoke like macho man randy savage and would severely overstate the program. I get you gotta sell people on it but he just seems over the top and cartoon like. If I was a recruit, my bs meter would instantly be pegged with this guy and his schtick
  10. I guess we should wait until if/when we see more data. It just seems like a pattern here and LaCanfora's report for an outside man being brought in is very, very welcome news to me.
  11. all this crap just screams of the endless cycle we have witnessed here for a long, long time. Looking forward to Pegula bringing in outside eyes
  12. maybe we can get Stevie back?
  13. Yup. The fans were pretty angry and sick of it. Golisano/Quinn wouldnt make any changes which was a huge reason Pegula had so much hype. The team was struggling. Again... Then they caught fire for the Spring in a crazy run and took a much better Flyers team to 7 games in a brutal playoff series they should have won... and effectively burned Philly out. So Pegula figured positivity and money would be the key to a quick trip to the top. I do remember he "asked' around about Ruff & Regier and they got positive reviews and he kept them around and even extended them. I dont think Pegula will make the same errors here. Not saying keeping B&W&M etc is a mistake... but I see Pegula certainly bringing in a bigwig football guy to assess and properly structure a winning football program.
  14. the issue with the Sabres was nothing was done. He decided that Ruff and Regier were fine and additional resources would put them over. Instead it just magnified their shortcomings. as far as "no results"... the team had to rip itself to the studs and get rid of everyone for assets in picks and prospects. They currently have the top prospect pool in the league not counting the 3 1st round draft picks in what looks to be the best draft class in more than a decade. The team is lined up now to become a monster in the NHL for a long time to come.
  15. very happy rumors are they are looking at bringing in an outside set of eyes at the top... probably dont think Polian would be a good idea though.
  16. It's like this organization is addicted to losing badly to the patriots
  17. Rex ryan is the man. For real Complete talent advantage over new england and they got sm0aked
  18. Hopefully they plan on no changes. I hope to get our teeth kicked in by the pats another 15 years
  19. I thought the hobby was a good show
  20. Yup. Those neutral site games seem to be really taking off for the ncaa. I think pegula stopped just short of telling that reporter that is a really good idea
  21. My favorite part was when you can actually see the wheels start turning when someone asked him if penn state would play a game here
  22. so none of these numbskulls asked about the toronto series?
  23. looks like Penn States going to play here.... lol
