if you close your eyes and pretend Alonso was the 1st, it doesnt hurt anymore

Its the admission of that and moving on. Pretending this guy is going to change and magically improve in every facet of the game is delusional and will dig a deeper hole.

How funny is it that this team is an exact replica, but in reverse, of the 2012 Denver Broncos.

If the Bills do worse than 9-7, everyone is fired!

just speculation. Look, I want a house cleaning too depending on the results here.... but only a fool would make a line like that to make such sweeping changes. There are many different versions of 8-8. -
this day and age its pretty obvious with the starter vs backup snaps in practice

Multiple Reports : Pegula IS the new owner
May Day 10 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with that. IMO Cowher, Gruden, and Dungy would be colossal mistakes in any important role. First you would need to provide a HUGE amount of $ and power to get them out of the booth. Then, are they going to be willing to put in the life-encompassing amount of work necessary to get the job done? Will they be as hungry as someone trying to build their legacy? Has the league passed those men too much at ground level? Would like someone like Mahlzan, Shaw (Stanford), Dantonio... dabo swinney would interest me based on the Clemson connection, but I am unsure how he translates to the NFL -

what exactly are we preserving here? That game yesterday. We have seen that same game played 100s of times in the past 15 years. It doesn't change. Its so old. Making large organizational moves does not have to mean 10 years of rebuilding. Things happen rather quickly in the NFL if you get the right people in place. It really isnt rocket science. This organization appears to be continuing to go nowhere. This team needs to turn it around fast or the end of December will be scorched earth at OBD. Pegula didnt pay $1.4 Billion to enable clowns to keep finishing in last place in a mathematically improbable period of time. Im still hoping they turn in around though. However, this Texans game was very discouraging. It was right there for a good or even average team to take and they couldnt do it. -

Basically he spoke to NHL industry "experts" and they all vouched for Ruff and Regier. Face it, they did have a history of pretty good results over tumultuous ownership issues. The water was muddy. Pair that with the team absolutely catching on fire the Spring he bought the team and the status quo looked acceptable. I would think he is speaking to people in and out of the NFL and getting a pretty good body of advice on how to proceed. -
Anyone else tired of hearing about Derek jeter?

Last night is and should have been a big deal... but the whole farewell tour thing got old for me last year and the All Star Game left me wanting to swear off baseball. Its a bit hypocritical as I really think these circuses are a distraction for the team. All the fluff is elevating Jeter into a class of All Time Greats he shouldn't be a part of as well. -

Right now, his last week/home game is fine and deserving of the hype and pomp and circumstance. Especially now that the Yankees are eliminated. These farewell tours reek of Steiner and the athlete making big bucks on the merch at the expense of the on field results. The multiple ceremonies/gifts in all the ballparks is unnecessary, and the shameless over the top pomp and circumstance at the all-star game while completely ignoring recently passed Tony Gwynn didnt sit well with me. Then you have the Yankees in a race for their lives with multiple ceremonies like the one earlier in the month with Michael Jordan and all that hoopla. Cheesy gatorade commercials and that Re2pect thing... gag. For months you would think Peyton Manning, Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan, Superman, and Mother Theresa all rolled into one died or something. So all of it and the complete inflation of Jeter as both a player and a person over months has worn on many people who aren't a Yankees fans, and I actually know a few Yankees fans who have been pressed into a bit of cynicism over 2 years of this whole thing. Here is a good column that sheds light on the other side of this. http://nypost.com/20...mes-out-on-top/ -

to me, it was a few things. First was the competitive disadvantage of the entire thing. First came Divisional games and at least that ended... then the Atlanta game was pretty pivotal (not saying its a win at home, but RWS increases the likelihood of winning especially vs struggling a dome team) Then was the whole black cloud of Mr Wilson's age and Rogers' wealth, then later the rather overt movements of MLSE, Lieweke, and Bon Jovi. At this point a preseason game doesn't bother me. -

basically my friend and I consider our ticket price $X / 8. If they stayed the same price, but we "lost" a preseason game we wouldnt bat an eye. -

yeah. Maybe they kind of knew that he was in poor health and why the pause button was hit instead of the kill switch. It doesnt seem like it was for a whole lot of money this round, but however the contract was written Im sure it would be tough for either side to break off unscathed -

Jury is and still should be out on marrone (and the rest). However if this team turns into a 6 and 10 team again I don't see the redeeming value in unquestioned loyalty to a staff who knows nothing but 6-10 and a coach whose biggest game was the pinstripe bowl. In this decade or so, the bills haven't been able to land (or even really covet) top coaches. Not only money but it is assurances that they will hold a lot of say on personnel matters and not be subject to micromanaging. We have seen signs of marrone in conflict with the fo. Guys like chip kelly don't want to be subject to that when careers and legacy is on the line. Chip kelly is going to be told anything regarding football by russ brandon? Laughable. If (we will see) the team goes south, I could see pegula make a real effort to pay and give the keys to the car to a Harbough or a top ncaa hc... not saban or anything silly maybe the fella from stanford. Dabo Sweeney would be interesting... but no idea how he would translate to nfl. Create a "program". Cowher gruden dungy etc are just silly side shows at this point if you can even get them out of the booth -
They are a sad bunch over there in Houston

Will get Harbough and give him the keys -
my takeaway from this game is: You just have to give San Diego a ton of credit and respect. Looking forward to see how the Bills respond here with 2 away games with teams probably on an equal level.

New NFL Commissioner? Who?
May Day 10 replied to MississippiBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wont be anyone who is a visionary or wants to take a stand against anything. Will be some sort of vanilla PR lawyer type who acts as a mere extension of owners and Goodell's work.
