  1. I used to be pretty petrified of flying. To the point where I would start to worry people around me. You can go to a doctor and get some Xanax or something like I did. A couple beers at the airport lounge, Xanax, and then a Jack and Coke after the plane takes off... you will wake up in Florida drooling on yourself. The cost though is you will be messed up for a little bit... if not, just drink some liquid courage. Its the kind of thing, the more you do it, the more you get used to it. Its such an unnatural seeming thing, humans being that high up, going at that velocity. Planes are made to be in the air though. You also have to play the odds in your head. Look at one of those current maps that show all the planes in the air at any given moment. Its a huge number and they all make it safe. I found I have trouble reading and watching things on a plane due to anxiety, but good music on headphones with the eyes closed is good. If you like video games, I have been able to get lost in those. Also, front of the plane typically has a bit less sway than the back. Wings arent too bad, but you may get a little more noise/vibration Try closing the window. Especially on takeoff. Bumps, noises, etc, look at people around you. Most of them fly a lot. They wont look phased. Puts me at ease.
  2. I agree a bit with Donald Duck. First season started out amazing, but 2nd half was terrible. 2nd season I thought was the best so far. Didnt finish the last 5 episodes or so of Coven. I mean to, but the fact I havent yet is pretty telling. Last night was OK. Some potential... but Jessica Lang's accent was really bad and annoying. You had to concentrate to understand it. I like her acting and all, but Im kind of sick of her as the central character at this point. The show also seems to be getting way too artsy fartsy. Regardless, I saw the 1st half of the episode and it has potential.
  3. how long until he sells to Magic and crew in LA?
  4. it also got the year of the Sabres' purchase wrong. what kind of crap is that?
  5. sky is the limit now. Werent successful yet with the Sabres (they are forming the organization into a destination), but every player on the market is a possibility. If Peyton Manning was leaving the Colts this offseason... you bet Buffalo would have been in on it.
  6. you crazy? We need to keep them both in bubble wrap at the perfect temperature, only to consume the perfect balance of nutrition, vitamins, minerals, etc. No risky activities and that even includes crossing the street.
  7. He isn't the inventor of the opti-grab, is he?
  8. well, its over. Unbelievable. No more path Toronto or LA. No more questions hanging over our heads, dark cloud on gamedays (telling myself to enjoy because there 'aint that many left)... Not only that, Pegula will no doubt be determined to make the Bills into a/the model NFL franchise. That is what he is doing with the Sabres, and if you do more than look at the standings from last season, you can easily see he is true to his word. He is going to make us Pittsburgh, but perhaps even better
  9. not much. Notables. Process started a lot longer ago than people think. When buying the sabres, wasnt a good idea to tip hand w/ the Bills. Will be at Sabres game Friday PC day
  10. Im kind of split. I love Ralph Wilson Stadium. Im proud it has become a bit of a relic. I love how outdoors give games unique characteristics (the game in the dome in Detroit just seems all the same/similar/stale and thats how I feel about Indy, Dallas, St Louis, Atlanta, etc. all the same venue). I hope Pegula does it right and does proper evaluations of the fan wants and the corporate demand/capacity. I do think in 5-10 years I may be ready for a more "tame" game day where I dont get there at 8AM and stay for 10 hours drinking heavily, eating grillfood, and braving the elements. Maybe by then a few beers at Pearl Street then walking to the indoor game will be fine?
  11. Still cant get over it. Probably never will. I have been relatively convinced this team would be gone Looking forward to seeing the articles and columns that still ignore all this and mention Buffalo as a relocation candidate.
  12. I gotta say. Pbr is a very good "common beer"
  13. Can't believe this is happening tomorrow
  14. I like the part where russ brandon is the only man capable of running this team. 6 last place finishes aside. There were some gaffes too. Uniforms among the worst in nfl history, t.o. The second toronto contract which had to be quashed after a year for some reason... constantly making me angry as a sth, enough to cancel and then inherit other seats years later from a late friend. I also feel that this team can do much much better ticket sales and price wise. Or his big coaching search brought 4chan failey aboard. Anyhow. Thinking of the bills' future this is a happy occasion and I can't be brought down from that. Huge game this weekend. Don't want to dwell too much on this topic or the negative past right now
  15. count me in for hoping for a long overdue and much needed fresh start here. either way though, things will remain for the season. Who knows, maybe the team will break the cycle this season. Thy are 3-2 an have a good chance at it maybe
  16. Thanksgiving currently the toughest tickets. Any left at the box office? Anyways, there really arent too many bad seats there. 300s are definitely not too far away. Bad seats are 100 level where giant chunks of the ice are obstructed, and you need to watch 1/2 the game on the scoreboard. Usually in the rows 6-14 range on the sides toward the corners. Anywhere in the 100s though buyer beware. You also tend to possibly be near people who you can just tell are there for the 'thing to do' ala Bisons games of '89-'92 I have also noticed front row of the 300 level in the corners are very cramped seats. I had STs there one year and changed seats after 1 season. They said they have 3 or 4 builds of seats used and they are lettered A-D or something like that (the seats are labelled somewhere) and those seats are the most narrow. Even the skinniest of people using my seats (im not big either) would come away with that dominating their experience. Pretty uncomfortable. Like anything, Aisle seats are the way to go. You can also check the map on Sabres.com to see where the restrooms are in relation to your seat.
  17. the bad part about losing this game is a few things It gives NE the upper hand again and also allows them to get more comfortable in winning mode. Will be down by 1 game to NE with a head to head loss and the last game of the season @ a place we never won. So if it relegates Buffalo to a wild card chase. We can almost write off 1 spot to San Diego as they look really good and own head to head. That means Buffalo will have to beat out every one of PIT, BAL, CLE, TEN, KC, MIA, and HOU (who have head to head). win, and Buffalo has another win, a 1(+) game lead on the Patriots with head to head and 2-0 in division vs 0-2. Buffalo has a number of easy games coming up... and the Patriots will again have a lot of scrutiny and headed toward a kind of brutal stretch: Jets (short week and the Jets always seem to give them fits), Chicago, Denver, @ Indy, Detroit, @ Green Bay, @ San Diego. So many big game and the Bills havent been able to get over that hump. Really, this game is it. They can make a huge statement that this is a new day. The AFC East would be the Bills' to lose.
  18. I just hope they do a full press conference Wednesday, Thurs, or Friday and Pegula can be up there with Alumni, etc and whip us up in a frenzy like with the Sabres. The podium at the stadium always falls flat, its hard to hear, people arent paying attention, etc. I would love for a montage video like Golisano released when he bought the Sabres. sent a DVD to all STH and mini pack holders and it was an amazing rush for a fanbase who was pretty low and felt disconnected to the past.
  19. I would say that the Patriots 56-10 drubbing of the Bills on Sunday night in 2007 was another big home game like this. The Bills were 5-4, won 4 or 5 straight, were looking good, coming home for a raucous primetime crowd...
  20. I kind of get excited thinking of a resurgent Bills going into Denver for a big game with Kyle Orton with revenge on his mind
  21. I have said it before, during, and after the draft: Sell the farm to get this guy.
