looks like a solid list to be honest. Got all the deserving places on there. Unsure about NE though, my friends from there say the new stadium all but killed it. kind of funny most of the top spots are cold weather -
Multiple Reports : Pegula IS the new owner
May Day 10 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
to me, it was a few things. First was the competitive disadvantage of the entire thing. First came Divisional games and at least that ended... then the Atlanta game was pretty pivotal (not saying its a win at home, but RWS increases the likelihood of winning especially vs struggling a dome team) Then was the whole black cloud of Mr Wilson's age and Rogers' wealth, then later the rather overt movements of MLSE, Lieweke, and Bon Jovi. At this point a preseason game doesn't bother me. -

basically my friend and I consider our ticket price $X / 8. If they stayed the same price, but we "lost" a preseason game we wouldnt bat an eye. -

Will Pegula Cough Up the Big Bucks for a Big Name HC?

its not only pay though. Its organizational control. Chip Kelly does things his way. -

yeah. Maybe they kind of knew that he was in poor health and why the pause button was hit instead of the kill switch. It doesnt seem like it was for a whole lot of money this round, but however the contract was written Im sure it would be tough for either side to break off unscathed -

Jury is and still should be out on marrone (and the rest). However if this team turns into a 6 and 10 team again I don't see the redeeming value in unquestioned loyalty to a staff who knows nothing but 6-10 and a coach whose biggest game was the pinstripe bowl. In this decade or so, the bills haven't been able to land (or even really covet) top coaches. Not only money but it is assurances that they will hold a lot of say on personnel matters and not be subject to micromanaging. We have seen signs of marrone in conflict with the fo. Guys like chip kelly don't want to be subject to that when careers and legacy is on the line. Chip kelly is going to be told anything regarding football by russ brandon? Laughable. If (we will see) the team goes south, I could see pegula make a real effort to pay and give the keys to the car to a Harbough or a top ncaa hc... not saban or anything silly maybe the fella from stanford. Dabo Sweeney would be interesting... but no idea how he would translate to nfl. Create a "program". Cowher gruden dungy etc are just silly side shows at this point if you can even get them out of the booth -
They are a sad bunch over there in Houston

very similar team and situation IMO. -

Will get Harbough and give him the keys -
my takeaway from this game is: You just have to give San Diego a ton of credit and respect. Looking forward to see how the Bills respond here with 2 away games with teams probably on an equal level.

New NFL Commissioner? Who?
May Day 10 replied to MississippiBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wont be anyone who is a visionary or wants to take a stand against anything. Will be some sort of vanilla PR lawyer type who acts as a mere extension of owners and Goodell's work. -
the key with being a 'shill' for a team(s) is how the content is developed and presented. the way that Sabres show is presented is lazy and terrible. If you are going to sit back, conceive hairbrained ideas on the spot, and take callers and argue with them with the team's point of view its an unlistenable disaster. Murphy's show is so much better because instead of pushing agendas, the content is pre-developed. Lots of interviews. Murphy is intelligent so he can monologue about the team and football for swaths of time... and they leave the Bills bubble and discuss the entire NFL. They can have plenty of content with so much access to both organizations. Then you have the Bandits. Possibly UB Sports. Canisius and Niagara B-Ball and Football. St Bonaventure B-Ball. Bisons/Redwings/Skychiefs. Syracuse University stuff, Amerks, Elmira Jackals, Erie Otters, High School Sports, try to push East in NY and South into PA... Then feature shows on any number of those and the Bills... A Sports desk. You name it. The possibilities are endless and would be a dream for me to watch all the time. They can pull it off. Ted Black is a big broadcast guy I believe. I just dont know the monetary logistics of launching a network (or carrying a foxsports/comcast network name), how much production is compared to viewership, ads, and if it costs to carry all those events and stuff. I also believe subscription television is on the verge of being completely changed in the next 5 years or so to more of an internet/subscription/on demand based thing.

I believe he runs sort of live gambling show in Vegas or something. They gotta also show old ecw and aussie football late at night

Any aspirations anyone in that room had in moving the Bills anywhere (Toronto) was likely dashed shortly after Wilson died and rumblings that Pegula was being discussed at owners meetings. There is likely a plan B now or a few possible plan Bs that now all include the Bills staying in Buffalo with Pegula as owner. -
NEWS: The peeling away of sponsors from the NFL has begun
May Day 10 replied to Hplarrm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So sponsors are going to start pressuring the nfl into decisions on who plays and who doesnt? Budweiser basically markets and delivers poison -

well one thing he learned with the Sabres was the damage letting a guy walk for nothing will do. I know with the NFL the deadline is a lot earlier, and teams will not quite as easily toss draft picks around... but any way that they can maximize assets as opposed to just letting them walk away will be explored -

I loooooove that sports gambling show. It's straight out of sketch comedy -
I agree. I believe a heck of a lot of this result is due to timing and the presence and interest of Pegula However, the out of town bidders from LA, that Chicago family, and probably others were turned away and Toronto kind of restricted itself for a reason, and I think Ralph's family/trust had an assist in that and probably direct instruction, legal or otherwise from Mr Wilson. Without Pegula though, this could have been a lot more hairy... but in that case, we could have possibly seen Jacobs/his kid get more serious along with Golisano, Gundlach, etc. Bottom line is, Mr Wilson created this team here. Agreed to a deal that locked them into WNY which was the difference when he passed and the team was sold. And it looks like the team will be here as far as you can see. The Wilsons made a killing, but could have sold everyone out for a lot more. Mr Wilson as a 93 year old man could have said "year to year lease or pound sand" and I'm not sure the County could have really made him do otherwise.
