Sabres on NBC-NBCSN 5 Times Next Season
May Day 10 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You are correct... It is a waste of time to watch and root for them to lose. I have also tuned them out. Attended 2 games this year, watched maybe 3 complete games. I do follow the scores closely every night though. I am a huge fan. Probably watched over 95% of all Sabres games since 1988 until the recent lockout year (when I started to really root for scorched earth to get Ruff& Regier out and "tank" a few years. But with that said, I am 100% behind this as a fan. The payoff promises to be a ton of good times. This past team they sold off in recent years was so unlikeable, soft, "Catwalk" for charity sums them up. Regier and Ruff did not believe in dictating physical play at all. The team was just talented enough to be middle of the road, but once the physicality ramped up, they headed for the hills. You look at the possible lineups next year above (as it is now), and we have a pretty gritty and talented young squad coming together. Its going to be a joy to really watch next year, root for development and watch them grow. With McEichel, Reinhart, Bogosian, and Kane, I think we have a #1 or #2 overall, a #3 and a #4... then upwards of 7 other former 1st rounders, all very young. Take into account a glut of goalie prospects where any 1 or 2 can emerge... and guys ready to hit Rochester soon like Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching, Compher, Hurley, etc... plus an additional 1st this year and the #31 pick. Its going to be very exciting. I think we could also see some additional moves this Summer. Also have a few wildcards in there like Larsson, Carrier, and Ruhwedel. -

Yes. The key is guaranteeing Eichel. Cant drop more than the 1 spot so even if they lose the lottery, they pick 2nd. last gets a 20% chance at McDavid 2nd last gets 13.5% so that means if they finished 29th, there is a 66.5% chance they will NOT be in the top 2. -

i dont believe its been announced yet, Usually its between the last game (April 12?) and the start of the 1st round... so probably April 12-14 ish. -
I thought last night was a homerun. The desert scene was great. The back and forth between McGill and Tuco negotiating the bodily harm on those skateboarders was both hilarious and intense. I also like the direction its going.... kind of tying a few things together to move forward. That is one of the things BB did so well. There was almost no wasted time/loose ends. Everything had their place to advance the plot.

what do measles have to do with autism? Oh yeah, that guy who admitted he made up phony research and published it... and the publication was rescinded, and the guy had is license revoked and also had financial interest in the alternate vaccine.... People still believe vaccines = autism? lol people like this "doctor" are doing nothing but profiting on hysteria and people's fears.... a dangerous "fad"

28 more games and I can be a Sabres fan again. -
they didnt shy away from Breaking Bad at all.... spoilers: 1st season was obviously the result of a call for vacuum repair and also a play on making meth (making cinnabons) Same diner where Hank tried to flip Skyler Same nail salon Saul later tries to get Jessie to buy for laundering Mike Tuco Who knows whatever other easter eggs may be laid about only the true nerds will pick up on. I love that opening scene. Its like BB in its heavy mystery. He was in Omaha, working at Cinnabon. Lived in a nice place. Still waiting for someone to kill him... paranoid his identity would be revealed (by drawing the blinds to watch the commercials)

Julian Edelman's one night stand... LOL

She's fine... on a scale of a good looking single millionaire who just scored the winning touchdown in the super bowl, she is a negative 2. He probably could have picked out almost anybody in boston -
Which of the seven new NFL head coaches was the best hire?
May Day 10 replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see what youre saying..... I'm sure Buffalo was barely on Ryan's radar based on what he has seen over the years and reputation... However speaking with Pegulas and management, he seemed to drop all other possibilities and buy into this franchise. To me that is a great sign that this happened and that he went on a buying spree of coordinators. The fact that the sale happened and they didnt need to provide him ownership stakes or a GM title, makes this very encouraging for me. IMO Ryan was the best hire and its not close. I said it in Week 5 and I say it now. This man was put on this Earth to coach this team and bring a championship here. -
NYS Stadium study favors 4 sites (3 downtown)

I just don't know if WNY enough of the upscale clientele to drive the prices and amneties of all these palaces. -
is this the confessional? I have an admission. I like Will Wilfork and respect the hell out of him for overcoming his injury.

Im fine with it. Ive said for years our tickets are underpriced. If/when they become relevant they will be able to raise them quite a bit.

they may be sewage leaks, but they're OUR sewage leaks -
Its not just that. I think we have a wonderful thing there and I'm not so eager to toss it away so the NFL can chase high end luxury clientele our market really doesn't have to offer. I would be in for a meaningful resuscitation of RWS in 7-10 years. Like Lambeau, Arrowhead... or in an extreme case Soldier. Make sure the structure has integrity, maybe providing a few of the extra perks they want with a new stadium. I love the sightlines and atmosphere there. I like the history. I like the fact you see a highlight and you know what stadium it is instead of a soulless and dark and miscellaneous dome. I love the fact that I bring firends from other areas and we park in basically a neighborhood and they have the time of their lives and end up coming back at least every year. This team gets some of its energy back with a new owner. New (real) head coach. People are reinvigorated. A few wins and this team being relevant will allow them to raise the ticket prices plenty. Itll be similar to the Sabres' ticket successes IMO. The Sabres struggled at the gate from the 80s to 2006. Now they maintain a waiting list, even among a lot of playoff-less seasons.

Super Bowl delivers its highest overnight TV rating ever
May Day 10 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been beating on that for years, but in a lot of ways I was preparing for when the Bills left. New ownership, along with a HC and OC who I believe are very capable of making this team a contender.... and a pretty decent season has rejuvenated my interest in NFL football. Loved this superbowl. Hated the outcome. -
