  1. If anyone is on the fence, get them now. Really. It'll be the same situation as the Sabres. I know people who were indecisive back in 2007, didnt pull the trigger, and they have been on that waiting list for years.
  2. Imo it's low rent. No matter who it is it should be an honor to meet the president. It's a whiny move and it disrespects the country. I'm sure Obama would have been happy to spend a few minutes chatting with brady. Brady could have told Obama face to face if something is bothering him... but I'm sure it's basically "durr durr durr"
  3. well I did admit it was pretty much baseless.
  4. she is pretty much on the line now, if not past it.
  5. My assessment is certainly not fair and based on a very limited knowledge of these two. I admit I do have a pro-Canadian bias and pro-CHL bias. Im sure Eichel has plenty figured out and will be fine.
  6. I dont know, but Im sure its a legit reason and I wouldnt look twice at it, really. Agreed a bit on the character thing and was a huge force in me preferring McDavid as much as I did. Eichel just seems like your prototypical American player/college kid. A lot of times, these players are loose cannons, entitled, and sometimes run into problems. From my view, the psyche of a US player (not always the case) is less desirable than the Canadians. It doesnt necessarily mean disaster/burn, etc. You have Kessel, Kane, had Tkachuk, Chelios, Roenick, Hull etc... those are the greats, really but were prone to immaturity on and off the ice and its one more thing to overcome. I saw the same kind of spoiled entitlement in Miller... its tough to quantify, but its there. The one A-Hole who complained about Buffalo at the WJC was an American kid... I also heard Eichel got himself into a bit of headache over social media stuff. That video of Eichel chugging the beer. All I can think of is "I wonder if at this moment, McDavid is working on his faceoffs or his shot?". It just seems like McDavid is so... I dont know, "wholesome" as opposed to Eichel. He seems dedicated only to being the best. Maybe Eichel is too... I dont know. I dont intend to take shots at Eichel. Im excited we secured him for sure. Really pumped. Just being open with my thoughts.
  7. yeah. For sure. MacTavish said again yesterday that there was no chance (which of course is smart to say either way). But yeah, fans would reject a trade pretty harshly. As it is, they despise Katz and management vehemently. They trade away the next Canadian great hope... oh boy. I think people would actually attack the team offices. I just dont see nearly enough motivation on their part to trade McDavid away to risk the backlash, and the possibility of being a future Jeopardy question. Then there is the sour feelings the McDavids (likely) have towards Katz (I dont think it has anything/much to do with Edmonton). That would be the behind scenes thing that can drive it. McDavid seems like a righteous kid. However, I would think Katz would be more than willing to bury the hatchet with Bassin/the Otters and make it right as he has a lot more to gain with a happy Connor McDavid. The only factor remaining is how much do they dislike/distrust Katz already for trying to obliterate a great hockey man for greed? Especially when they were exposed to the Pegulas who appear to be very friendly, salt of the Earth, wanting to do right by people (at least in their Sports enterprises lol)... Overall, I would put a Sabres' trade for McDavid at a <2% chance. I only have it that "high" just because Murray/Pegulas are obviously over-the-moon for the kid and the "call" has been/will be made.
  8. Yeah. There is no weed there. The instant any sign of smoke of any kind and security swarms. haven't witnessed a possibility of stabbing In the past 10 years, just a few small fights in my section. It's definitely a rougher crowd, and being next to the a-hole lottery has greater odds... but I don't have too much urge to move
  9. I'm in the rockpile. Best crowd there imo. Lots of standing. Likelihood of being near a drunk monster higher. View is ok I think. Better than high in the upper deck. Opener or the pats game will be sick.
  10. She annoys me. Like she is always trying too hard
  11. wow. when it all shakes out, they are going to have like 8 stadiums in and around LA. Can play in a different one every home game
  12. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/hockey-lawsuit-exposes-grimy-underside-of-sports-ownership/article22646466/?service=mobile http://www.goerie.com/father-of-otters-star-serving-as-unpaid-consultant-to-teams-owner
  13. The owner of the oilers is actively working tofinancially ruin mcdavid's friend/mentor/father figure sherry Bassin so he can take the otters, move them to hamilton, get the cops coliseum lease, and use that to leverage and screw the people of edmonton. Mcdavids dad has also been working with Bassin as an unpaid consultant in the legal battle vs katz. I'm sure the mcdavids don't have a good opinion of katz or the oilers at all. That's why mcdavid looked as unhappy as he did last night.
  14. There is some bad blood between mcdavid and edmonton ownership. He definitely is very unhappy with this result.
  15. Ive been in the same mindset for awhile too. It just seems meant to happen
  16. the White Sox announcers are awful lol. But I do get your point. To me Murphy has it down very very well. Extremely professional Sal did it poorly. When the team is bad, has been bad for 15 year, the coach looks like a slug.... its frustrating when the guy sits there and defends every little thing Bills. Everything isnt/wasnt rosey. Its OK to be at least a little critical. Then when the coach leaves he changes his viewpoint and you find out he is actually a slug. He was nothing but a cheerleader. A loud Italian one. It just felt overly transparent the guy was trying to angle for a job with the Bills.
  17. Agree 100%. The guy just yells into the microphone. Doesnt get deep into it at all. Claims to be an expert because he coached some little kids once. He grates at me.
  18. At the time though, the Leafs and Sabres were pretty isolated in the Adams/Norris Divisions. I know a lot of people who pulled for the Leafs back then.
  19. I looked at the one for Beachbody. I really dig their programs... some of them the best fitness programs ever created. They have a MLM structure. The issue is, what they encourage you to sell is this stuff called Shakeology, which has all sorts of stuff in it, its OK, but you could really spend a fraction and just take a scoop of protein powder and a multivitamin. This stuff costs like $120 a month. Then you have to convince people to subscribe to that and also join up and get others to do the same. People involved in this have to reach and kind of fool people into buying in to this stuff. So yeah, I want nothing to do with that. I know some people who make decent bucks doing that, but they are pretty much constantly pushing the stuff and are putting in a high amount of work, basically sales work that Im not interested in
  20. I don't remember it. I remember Tampa, maybe Washington, Pittsburgh, Giants, and Detroit?
  21. what I get out of it is: Carolina, new... OK, cool. Cleveland Primetime ESPN is cool and maybe a sign of things to come Glad we get the 3rd game at home. blech, Detroit in Game 4.
  22. I'm with Kirby. It would be cool for us to throw support in some way behind these fans. It tickled me to see fans of other teams even just commenting on articles in support of us. I think anything organized would also make us badass. I used to be a huge "move x to y, they don't deserve a team" until I almost lost the Sabres... and was at the point where I thought it was going to happen, as well as the Bills. Whether its San Diego, Jacksonville, Oakland... they have fans. Likely fans more hardcore than you or I. Maybe not as many dedicated fans as other places in quantity, but still a number of people whose hearts will be ripped out. Also, kids. The NFL and rich people decided to put a team there. There is enough here for everybody. I think there is a responsibility to keep the team in place and allow history and roots to continue to grow.
  23. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199211080buf.htm November 8, 1992 - Bills 28, Steelers 20 It really wasnt that close though. Never really got closer than 8, and no 2-point conversion. Thomas had 37 carries
