Hard Knocks 2018: The Cleveland Browns
GaryPinC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My son is a Browns fan, it's very painful. I just told him I'm sorry, until Haslem either removes his head from his rectum and/or sells the team, they're going to find new ways to suck. I do like the moves Dorsey made but doubt Hue can pull it together. They have enough talent to go 8-8 and maybe more IMO. But how do you go 4-0 2017 preseason and then 0-16? Gotta be the coaching. -

I live in Cleveland, Haslem is a lousy owner. After spending time with the Steelers as a minority owner it seems unbelievable, but it is what it is. -
Common Sense QB Progression 4 Preseason
GaryPinC replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't grasp this because my impression from the coaches is when Allen improves his decision making and comfort with the offense he'll get his chance. By jettisoning Tyrod, I believe the hope is that he starts sometime this season, around the mid season. Josh needs to use his arm and decision-making more judiciously, ultimately he will need enough field time to truly learn that. Why waste this season and part of next if we're building a winner? If AJM or NP plays lights out then Allen may have to wait a season, but I'm not counting on that. NP started week 10 last year, after the game McD said "The decision was not about winning now but about the future." -

Who says the Browns are moving on from the losing culture? Did it start with the hiring of Jackson? It starts at the top. -
UB says not so fast with this CTE stuff
GaryPinC replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely do we need to coach kids better. In addition, the rules of the various sports are also being tweaked to mandate safer techniques during play and in the event of a head injury/concussion. But my original point is that you sound dismissive of the data by saying there is no proof, therefore we can draw no conclusions. As a researcher by trade, I am always a skeptic because so much of science is gray, but I am also leery of being overly dismissive of data as your statements appear to be. -
UB says not so fast with this CTE stuff
GaryPinC replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Partially right, but there is one inescapable conclusion: Until we know more, we must be cautious in how we treat concussions. And the treatment of them has changed drastically in a short time. The UB study is valuable because part of the research effort must answer how prevalent CTE is in athletes and the general population. We need perspective, not just scare tactics. -
This all makes the most sense if the starter plays lights out. I guess I don't expect that to happen. I also think Allen needs significant time on the field to change his approach. I think you get him mentally pointed in the right direction, understanding the offense, and give him time on the field to figure it out. He's got the brain power. That touchdown throw to McCloud? Amazing throw but poor decision. Too tight a window in a normal NFL game, he didn't see Lee open on the short out or both receivers relatively uncovered on the backside. Allen relies on his arm too much to force throws, compromise his decision process, and I believe it's part of his overall inaccuracy. Despite McD's talk, this franchise won't take the next step until Allen gets the bugs worked out on the field and do we want to wait until next season for that? I think we would have kept TT if mgmt was committed to keeping Allen on the bench a full season.
-
Well said, completely agree. Personally, I think McDermott's plan is to get 3 to 8 games out of AJM/NP then let Allen take over. If AJM is too slow with his decisions(as I've read) we won't see it till the regular season and maybe he'll get a few games in before defenses adjust. Ditto with NP and his noodle-armed panic mode. I think we all understand why TT never displaced Flacco, I consider Flacco better than Andy Dalton so I don't expect much from AJM. But, odds are it's a throwaway year though I won't count us out with Daboll's scheme and our D.

Are The Bills Mafia’s Tailgate Antics An Embarrassment?
GaryPinC replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Been going to a game a year for a good 10 years and taking my kids for at least 4 (kids are 15 and 12). Never seen a table jump or any other crazy antics. Tailgate and game have always been an enjoyable experience. -
Bills' 2018 Training Camp Practice Day 11 - 8:45 AM
GaryPinC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have a plan. Which should mean there are certain goals and things they need to see from Allen which I would think have been communicated to him. If they truly wanted to keep Allen on the bench most or all of the year they wouldn't have gotten rid of Tyrod. I like the fact that our coaches have their s**t together about this and will just wait to see how it unfolds. More than willing to trust them at this point. -
Are The Bills Mafia’s Tailgate Antics An Embarrassment?
GaryPinC replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not embarrassed, it's all drunk idiots and credit them for being creative. I think nationally most people view it as this. Drinking alcohol trickling down a chick's ass? Brady's dildo? I had to laugh. The only thing I've seen that compares is the Cubs fans doing the urinal trough slide. I think nationally "Bills Mafia" has become more of a moniker to describe us passionate Bills fans, so I get why some are embarrassed by the drunk table divers et al and don't want to be associated. But people attributed Dalton and Boyd's charitable infusion to Bills Mafia and that was one of my proudest moment as a Bills fan. I'm ok rolling with it. -
Sammy Watkins classes it up on his way out of LA
GaryPinC replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From the article: Inside linebacker Reggie Ragland started camp on the non-football injury list. He experienced a swollen knee following his flight to training camp. I know he's a good guy, but damn. That's slipping on the rubber mat worthy. -
My bad, got the time wrong. Soleimani says it at 0:37.

https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2018/07/26/569305/Iran-Soleimani-TRump Here's the version I found. The person yelling in the audience says it then Soleimani says it between 1:00-1:20. They pronounce it "Troomp". Might be time to change your narrative.

I've brewed infrequently in the past but have started getting into it over the past year. Just switched to all grain mashes. It's fun and been rewarding. Last few brews were an oatmeal(oven roasted) stout, rye-based red, and my first Belgian-style wheat. Found a nice unsweet blueberry paste, next brew will be a chocolate/blueberry stout. Both flavors will be dry and mild, not a fan of overly sweet beers.

The bridge was well on it's way up, gates down, etc. She's one of those a-hole bikers who demand equal respect as a car then turn around and break traffic laws. She knew damn well what was going on, rode through to try and go over, then swerved to reconsider and while looking up didn't realize there's a big gap at the bottom of the lift also. Oopsie! I hope she gets cited. She's "special" all right.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2786043-lesean-mccoys-ex-girlfriend-delicia-cordon-uncertain-rb-was-involved-in-attack.amp.html This article was already posted but this line was of new interest for me: "no longer certain" about his participation in the assault and is making plans to move out of the residence he owns." So, besides backing way off her initial implications of McCoy, she's now willing to leave his place. Sounds to me she's learned hanging on to expensive jewelry for a year attracted outside attention. Especially if she and her son enjoyed chattering about it with friends.
-
Agree, she's been hanging on to the jewelry for over a year. The thief knew exactly what to go after, either from reports that were filed, maybe overheard the jewelry store discussing it, but it may also have been her son talking about it with his buddies and word spread. It would be easy to blame LeSean because of the thief's detailed knowledge. Police reports indicate LeSean knew to avoid any physicality so it makes little sense to cross that line. Clearly he values his job.
-
Or the 16 year old kid snuck out for the night when he wasn't supposed to. Gave the thief an easy way in. Neighbors' cameras might be helpful. Pretty hard to believe the kid would go through all the trouble and beat up his own mom when he lived there and would have plenty of opportunities to steal the jewelry.

The Brandi Chastain Plaque is Not Good

If that were true I imagine they would case the house, get what they could and take off instead of confronting the victims. I could see what you are saying if she had generically responded along the lines of "he's a decent dad" but when the ex says he loves his boy more than anything in the world, etc. that's well above and beyond. This is his ex, they typically hate giving the estranged father credit for anything good. And, quite frankly, if she expressed doubts about LeSean's parenting he would be the CPS target not her. Even more reason for her to speak out.
-
Thanks for posting, I don't do Instagram. Big endorsement when his ex will stand up for how he treats his son.
-
Do you have a link to this? LeSean's mom said something to this effect but I can't find any kind of statement from this Steph, other than her and LeSean got into a heated Twitter fight back in 2013.

France is my favorite also. Don't sell England short though, I feel like they could reasonably pull it off against either of the French speaking teams, they are working the ball around very well. Uruguay also broke down the French defense several times so it'll be interesting if they can clean that up or be exposed again.
