  1. Can't agree with you. He was decent his first season but our line couldn't protect him and he started getting PTSD his second year, once the defense got that first good hit on him he started throwing off his back foot, usually to check-downs and was kind of useless. We actually did him a favor sending him to Dallas because they were able to better protect him and he did better for a time. But even there, once he took a solid hit/sack he got jittery and mostly ineffective. I don't think he was ever mentally the same after that sheared artery. Pretty scary stuff.
  2. In the game films I saw, he was fantastic at recognizing the blitz and getting the ball out quickly to the proper receiver. Big plus IMO.
  3. Even more than that, with a very different style of playcalling. That most impressed me, how fluidly Bama transitioned (with a few hiccups from Tua). That's great coaching.
  4. Opening kickoff, Patriots block to the back that wasn't called. Obvious as daylight. Just downhill from there. I honestly feel they pay the officials off. Funny thing is Kraft must have had a spat to start the year as refs were making calls on them they never do, but then things got straightened out. Just disgusting.
  5. C) was symptomatic of A) and his lack of communication skills, IMO. I liked Doug Whaley. He made some mistakes but did a decent job bringing in talent, especially with the constant coaching overhauls. Also agree that he didn't always properly value talent. For me, Pegula being happily willing to hand over control of the roster to McDermott upon his arrival told me everything I needed to know about Whaley's vision and plan: he had none or was totally ineffective at communicating it. The mess surrounding Rex's firing also speaks to Whaley's lack of presence. In business, you have to earn control. Especially since Whaley was new to the title with zero track record previously. And in complete fairness to Whaley, he was groomed to the position by first-time GM Buddy Nix, who seemed more interested in bringing in talent than enacting and executing a detailed 5 year plan for the franchise. I hope Doug finds a better mentor first if he wishes to ascend to GM again.
  6. It's been on the Bills Twitter account
  7. Definitely made my contribution. What a fantastic idea someone had in doing this! Does anyone know who came up with the idea? I heard it started on social media. Definitely much respect for the originator!
  8. I get how you feel now. But the tag on this thread is "clock started ticking on his regime today". You try and suggest where Pegula would use his penn state ties to find the next coach. Whether or not McD came back next year is irrelevant to your assertion that his losing the team is the beginning of the end and where Pegula should begin his search. You got caught up in that moment and overreacted. Most of us would own that because it happens to everyone. WRT McCoy, back in 2015 the crux of your argument against him was his avg YPC had dropped in Philly to 4.2 and 4.4 with us (despite a hamstring injury) so it was the beginning of the end of his career so he wasn't worth it. Also the fact that Karlos had a great avg YPC and Gillislee looked promising had you suggesting we could go with them and McCoy wasn't needed at his price. I went and looked at the yearly and career avg YPC for the top 20 RB's of all time. When their yearly avg YPC gets below 4.0 and/or their career avg gets below 4.4 is generally the end of most careers. Shady has been worth every penny of his contract to me. His leadership, dedication and passion go beyond any statistics. And I would have enjoyed an honest discussion about all that with you but you're not much good at discussions. You are one of those people who pretends he has all the answers all the time.
  9. Hahaha. You are quite the Dunkirk Don. You started this thread correctly diagnosing the team quit during that 3 game losing streak and positing where a new head coach might come from for next year. Instead of owning the mistake of that overreaction, you shovel this hot stinking garbage out. Nice. Is LeSean McCoy worth the contract we signed him for?
  10. . Cripes, Cinci really outplayed them too. Stupid.
  11. Lol, true but Cinci does look much sharper than Baltimore so far.
  12. Flacco under throwing thus far and does not look sharp
  13. At the bar watching the games. Cinci came to play today and is really getting after the Ravens so there's hope!
  14. Could be, missed that so thanks.
  15. My impression from DD is either Leroi was the guy let go or the inside source feeding info out. He said "Leroi is back" but has never claimed to be Leroi. It also sounds like Cousin's tie to WNY would be his relationship to Dennison.
  16. Saw TLJ last night. Fun movie with some great sequences, but overall not a fan. They crammed too much into one movie and sacrificed some interesting storylines because of it. The thing that irritated me most was just the hubris of this movie. Just forcing witty banter at every possible opportunity made the movie very cheesy in spots for me. Opening scene "can you hear me now" spoof was just stupid and ruined any sense of struggle and gravitas. Let alone the concept of Zeppelin bombers in outer space. Kylo Ren and his lame red-headed step-brother gave the movie more of a bumbling Coyote vs road runner tone than that of an evil, ruthless empire. I like all the Rebellion characters but they and their relationships weren't really developed. I think Kylo was horribly miscast, just lame to me. There's also the disnification factor, where evil has a soft side and is human too. And things are serious but we can still pause and share a bunch of lame humor. Not going to go in to specifics to spoil things and definitely some cool parts to the movie but overall disappointed. Couldn't buy into the "struggle".
  17. I bet his brain biopsy, right now, would not show the same tau protein spectrum all the other brains have shown. How the hell do either of us know? The guy's 61! Much science still needs to be done. 1 million kids a year play HS football and 73k a year play college. That we know. I fit into those numbers. If I end up with dementia at some point it won't be from CTE. That I am confident of. Did it ever occur to you that the players not suffering from CTE aren't going to step forward and tell their story because they don't want to minimize research and accountability of the NFL? He's 61! We all have stage 1 CTE then, got it. Brilliant. I have little doubt Larry Johnson has CTE, assuming he's being truthful. But read his story. Remembers playing through his first concussion as a kid. That standard is changing. What will it mean for CTE occurrence? But OMG! Everyone who plays football must have it! CTE is a real disorder and problem, not just for football players and certainly not every player. We need science, not panic whores.
  18. Jim worked at a biotech company I joined in Cleveland. 7 years NFL linebacker. MD, JD. Bright, nice guy, needless to say. 61 years old and still successful. Does he have CTE? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Kovach
  19. Can't stand the store-made stuff, homemade is as creamy good as it gets though!
  20. At this point, I'm hoping that happens and the NFL takes the franchise away from him. Sadly, it's probably the best long term scenario for improving the team.
  21. They stockpiled a ton of picks and set themselves up for this past year and next year's draft. Of course, that assumes they pick solid talent. And Haslam doesn't muck things up too much. But there's been a lot of talk of another front office shake up though. What a mess. The plan was good, how they execute it is obviously the endgame though.
  22. I live here in Cleveland and yours is a truly ignorant statement. Fans thought it couldn't get worse then Randy Lerner and it seems they were wrong. Seems like the upper management has a good plan in place but it's going to blow up anyways. I truly feel bad for these fans, very depressing.
  23. "The Giants are 2-9 and currently have 19 players on injured reserve. " "Injuries have also hit the offensive line, where the Giants have started eight different combinations, second in the NFL behind Green Bay’s nine. Center Weston Richburg’s season ended after four games, and right guard D.J. Fluker was placed on I.R. yesterday. Ereck Flowers and John Jerry are the only two linemen to start every game, and, Flowers is the only one to start every game at the same position." That is an insane amount of injuries. I can understand not wanting to risk Manning to more wear and tear but most competitive players don't look at it like that. I get what McAdoo is thinking but if you truly want to evaluate your talent, either experienced QB with new OL or experienced OL with new QB. Injury has eliminated the experienced OL.
  24. Which guru is that? The tau study was an imaging study, it may have some use in discerning neurodegenerative disorders such as alzheimer's, dementia, CTE. Not sure if it will be specific enough (maybe by it's patterning) to differentiate the disorder but it should be able to conclude there's a problem. There's just a lot of work to do with specificity and if it's capable of early detectability.
  25. He may be a quack but he's right on with this article. First off, let's be clear there is no blood test. BU's Dr. Ann Mckee found CCL11 markers in sampled CSF from deceased subjects. It more confirms that there is a uniqueness to CTE as compared to alzheimer's and control patients. The Chicago imaging study has its flaws. They imaged tau, which is hardly a unique brain protein. They admit at the end of the paper the scans don't correlate well with the severity of the disease, and several of the authors own the rights to the imaging agent and belong to a for-profit company involving the agent. Both are useful studies but there is a long way to go.
