Wow. What a scoop! The Israelis are dumber than I thought if they need a classified report to arrive at this conclusion. Fake news odds are sky high.

Agree totally about Watkins. One interesting sidelight here is revealing just how broken our "free" press is. Equally concerning to me as this government corruption. Part of my research involves government related work and I am technically a part time employee. They have plenty of ethical policies that would get enforced on me. Obviously some aren't held to the same standard.

Yea, considering they basically said the bias didn't influence agency decisions that seems far too strong. They may not have uncovered any definitive facts to support it.

Bottom of the page is interesting. "Under these circumstances, we did not have confidence that Strozek's decision to prioritize the Russia investigation over... ...was free from bias. No surprises why they sat on the laptop info.

Yes, but the question becomes if people should lose their jobs. I work in research at a hospital and we have a strict ethics policy. I would easily lose my job if in this situation.

You definitely make a great point about Sack never even getting in when the Jets were desperate to find a QB. Not like there was any real competition keeping him on the bench.
-
I watched him at Penn State and he definitely couldn't read the field and make any kind of complex decision. Glad the Jets thought so highly of him!

You know, I have 2 points here. 1. It's funny as hell that you posted this while concurrently complaining other posters keep trying to tie today's events to Obama. 2. As a centrist, I was happy when Obama discussed being willing to sit down with Iranian and DPRK leaders. As the world superpower, should we lord over other countries or be magnanimous enough to take chances in hopes of spurring resolutions? Funny Trump never talked about it during the election, just went and did it. Part of why Obama was such a massive disappointment.

For nothing? Showing NK we are serious by agreeing to halt training exercises we've conducted twice a year for many years as a gesture to keep negotiations moving forward? If NK balks as in the past is it really so difficult to reauthorize training exercises? Have we significantly compromised our negotiating strength by doing it? I don't see how. Kim asked for this meeting and offered denuclearization up front. I see Trump's offer as mostly symbolic, but effective given NK's offense at these exercises in the past. Great concession!

So it makes sense that your sit vs start superbowl QB's could perform nearly identically their first 16 games AND the QB's that sat out benefited from the learning time if each coach wanted a similar degree of mental proficiency before letting their QB start. Just depends on the individual, the situation, and your perspective. Also, some QB's benefit from studying, others won't put the effort in and prefer to learn it when playing and this may skew the numbers. There are a ton of other variables (quality of coaching, quality of the offense, etc) No easy answers, I definitely respect your efforts to quantify it though. At the end of the day, the coach has to decide if the rookie QB can come in, absorb the offense and run it effectively (quick decisions) at the NFL level. If not, let him sit until he can. I suspect this is behind the plan for Josh Allen. Not whether he should be annointed starter from day 1 or do we mandate he sit a year or more? So Allen runs the 40 0.05 seconds faster and that automatically means he's the better athlete? Watching both QB's college film, I found Mahomes much more agile on the field. We'll have to agree to disagree. Both Zerovotlz and I linked articles breaking down and discussing Mahomes' decision making. If you looked through both of them and are at this point of wonder, further discussion is pointless. Time will tell and I have no problem owning being wrong.

Well, Oakland's got EJ now at some point the question will be answered and JP cycled through the Raiders, Seahawks, and Dolphins before his career ended. Do you really wonder about how JP might have done? It's pretty emphatic to me.

Allen is a better athlete then Mahomes? Not on this planet. Mahomes is far more mobile and accurate off balance then Allen. Allen is a great athlete for being a 6'5" gork, but Mahomes is quicker and more agile. Allen has a slightly stronger arm but Mahomes isn't far behind. Both QB's get the ball out very quickly but I give the edge to Mahomes because he's more compact. As far as Mahomes' footwork, a good part of it is unorthodox because he used to be a pitcher and that's the footwork he uses on his long throws. It's not like he doesn't set his feet it's just very unorthodox in this sport. The thing that separates Mahomes from almost any other quarterback is he processes the game and makes decisions at a very high level. The guy who wrote this article gets it, just check out the videos and explanations if you don't feel like wading through all the prose: https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2018/1/3/16842168/patrick-mahomes-all-22-vs-the-broncos-buckle-up That's why the Chiefs had no problem trading Alex Smith, not because of Mahomes' stats or any one play he did or didn't make. He got out there vs a pressure Bronco defense and made good reads and quick decisions.

Hard Knocks 2018: The Cleveland Browns

Lol, highest bidder baby! -
Cool, thanks. Makes sense and yea it's frightening. Any insights as to why they decided on Trump instead of some more likeable political novice? I mean, it would have guaranteed the election.
-
Cool, but it was a very close election. Would MI have waited for the next election if trump had lost? Seems like a lot of wrongdoing would have gotten whitewashed and lost in that time.
-
Hey, DR nice job with all your research and posting here. Not sure all of it will come to pass but it's undeniable we will owe MI a great debt. A lot of this seems predicated on Trump having won the election. How would all this have gone if he would have lost? Or did MI tamper with the election to make sure he won?

Hard Knocks may just decide to stay in Cleveland permanently. -
Well, here's an interesting little twist http://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/387625-mueller-may-have-a-conflict-and-it-leads-directly-to-a-russian-oligarch?amp

Years ago I was walking a bush-hogged path close to my tree stand. There's a 4 inch diameter tree with a horizontal bough crossing the path 7 feet high and clear as day is this stupid ground hog frozen on point hoping I wouldn't notice him. Walked right up and he never flinched. Soooo tempting to put an arrow in to that useless creature but it was close to my stand and I didn't want to disturb any deer. It would have looked something like the rabbit scene in "upper-class twit of the year!"

Soul and science testing on Josh Allen
GaryPinC replied to FTLBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, no, no. It was our poor coaching that ruined his career. All their fault. That, and tents have a certain allure for EJ. Derek Carr's headed to the bench any time now. -
[Spoilers]Avengers: Infinity War[Spoilers]

Saw the movie yesterday, I enjoyed it and thought it was well done overall. A lot going on but the overall plot kept things together. I noticed near the end when Captain America grabbed Thanos' guantlet, Thanos' didn't seem able to use it against him and had to punch CA away with his other hand. Curious, not sure if it'll come into play in the second one. Only negative was that while I enjoy the quips and humor there were a couple times where they overdid it. -
It bothered me also and is a valid criticism. I can't think of another top draft QB whose proponents used this excuse. When Allen said to look at the film not the stats, I had to laugh. Yea dude, I did look. You made some great passes on film, but all the over throws, poor placement, and poor decisions still back up your stats. I thought his receivers were solid. There were some drops I'd expect when a rocket armed qb has accuracy issues but they seemed very reliable otherwise.
