  1. I think Butler at Rt will be very good. He has the size and agility. The one thing that hurt him last year was banging up his shoulder. The good thing about tackles is you use less shoulders and more arms/hands while protecting. Should be a good move and help him stay healthy.
  2. Ding ding ding ding....we have a winner. Byrd would definetly not have been there. And i will go out on a limb and say i think he will make the biggest impact the quickest. Starter by the end of preseason. I have a friend who is a scout for a team. He told me that Byrd will be a player. He scouted him and the team he works for took a safety later on in the same round. If you listened to a lot of scouts, this years O tackle class was overrated. A lot of teams reached on tackles this year. Oher has a lot of questions. His own coaches said he was a 50/50 bust to good player.
  3. I am with ya. I have no idea who Pisa is going to sign with. But to tell me Chicago is going to have an awesome O all of a sudden is just foolish. Lovie is as conservative as they come. And the Bears have never ever been an passing team. D first, run second, and then pass.
  4. You missed the point of his initial statement. he said what if the Oline comes together, Dline puts pressure and the team as a whole plays good. Evans 'sucked last year. He was solid just like every year. Buffalo has players that have potential and have shown flashes of being good to great players. Evans Lynch Stroud Schobel Edwards Whitner McKelvin Owens McGhee On the Oline i would say Butler, Hangartner, and Walker have proved they can play good. The change in positions is a question for sure. Woods and Levitre displayed the mindset and skill in college, that needs to transition to the pros. Byrd will have to most noticiable and immediate impact this year of any the rookies. Maybin is a 50/50 guy. He could turn into the next great pass rusher for the Bills or he could bust out in 3 years. Huge risk but huge possible reward. I dont see him giving more then a couple of sacks this year. If the Oline and Dline produce and perform well then this team can win 10 games. Probably second in East and host a wildcard game. Injuries will tell the true story, because besides Dbs Buffalo has a big drop off in talent in depth players.
  5. And i wonder what Illinois state taxes are compared to NY? Steve you are still a D bag.
  6. Buffalo has 'affluent parts'? Just Kidding. So what. He just got paid 6.5 million dollars for one year. He has no way of knowing what will happen after this season. Sounds like a smart move to me. He lives here in Atlanta fulltime anyways. He always has. Even when he played in Philly and Dallas, he always has called the ATL his home. That famous clip of him doing crunches in his driveway was from his Atlanta home. I would not read to much into it.
  7. So you are telling me a guy that never had any true QB intelligence. And by that i mean he could not tell a zone defense from a man to man one. Is all of a sudden going to know how to do that? After being away from the league for two years??? Riiiiigghhhhttt. A guy that time and time again put the ball all over the place, makeing his recievers look terrible when it really was his fault. Look what Matt Ryan did this year with pretty much those same recievers. Ryan was a rookie btw. Vick never ever was a qb. He was a guy that was really fast and had a big arm. Thats it. He is dumb as a box of rocks. He proved that on and off the field. Sorry bud but i know a lot about footbal. And Vick will be slower then he was, and not because of him being out of shape, but he is older. Speed was the only real weapon Vick had. He might look good for a game or two but that will fade quickly. So you bring him in and at what cost? Losing maybe 15% of your fan base. No my friend you are the ignorant one. Go back to Madden football 2006 and play Vick there. In real life he is done. Book it!
  8. I dont really know much about Fitz i will be honest, but i do know a lot about Vick. He could not read a pro defense. And is not as fast as he use to be. By any means. And he has been away from the league for two years. Add that to the convicted felon stuff, and i am sorry but i would take JP bac....ok i would not go that far. I would rather Hamden play then.
  9. And why do you think that is?? I was just thinking about that. He is argueably the greatest player of this generation. Yet never been on the most popular football game of the last 15 years? Think maybe he is suspicious?? The whole Madden cover curse?? Oh and btw, i have not played that game in probably 12 years or so since i was in college. I could not even probably turn the game on. Just think its an interesting/paranoid question.
  10. I have watched Vick play his entire career here in Atlanta. And for awhile from 2002-2005 i do not think there was a faster/talented guy on the field. He started to show chinks in the armor before the whole dog fighting thing. He has never and i repeat never been good at reading a defense at all. He always got around that because he would just take off and out run the defense. He could get around the corner and pick up 7-8 yds before a db could force him out. He has lost a step. Due to the beating every player takes, and he will turn 30 i think this year. He never learned how to put touch on the ball. He has a cannon for an arm but he throws it 100 miles an hour to a reciever that is 5 yds down field. To me personally he makes sense in a 'wildcat'. But cordinators will scheme for that and it will not work for very long. Think about it, why do no teams run the option in the pros, or really college anymore? Answer : players are to fast and coaches figured out how to beat it. I will take Fitz over Vick for a lot of reasons. Least of which are because i personally dont think he has a lot to offer as far as play goes.
  11. All of this crap about Buffalo signing Vick, solely steams from Buffalo signing Owens. The only problem is Owens has never once been in trouble with the law. Much less a convicted felon. These reporters think that Buffalo will 'due a deal with the devil' to win. I just dont buy it. When you look at the Owens signing it was a shrewd move for the Bills for many reasons. That could not be said for signing Vick. You would in essence alienate a large portion of your fan base. Any dog owner/animal lover will not accept him. And you would possibly be starting another QB contraversy. How many of those have the Bills had in the last 10 years???
  12. I hear ya about this line. There are lots of unknowns for sure. Last year we thought the Oline was going to be one of the strengths( except the center position). But it did not turn out that way. Now for one reason or the other, the Bills have an entirely new Oline. They drafted guys that should be fixtures for years. Had some good talent they moved to another position. I know it is a lot of what ifs, but i would rather that then bring back the same group as last year. It is going to take some time for them to all get together, but by mid season(barring injuries) i really think this Oline could start to become something special. And then going into next year may start to have the foundation in place for a winning franchise. The Dline is one Dt away and Maybin producing from being very strong. Maybe McCargo is healthy this year, and with the new Dline coach gets some confidence. Oh yeah and it being a contract year does not hurt. He has to know that if he doesn't show up this year, he will probably be out of the league. I like 8 wins with an outside shot at 10. 10 if key guys stay healthy. And the 'what ifs' produce. Stay Positive my friends. We are all undeafted for now.
  13. I live in Atlanta. Atlanta hosted the 1993 Bills vs Cowboys Then again in 1999 the Rams vs Titans. In 99 Atlanta had a freak ice storm. Shut down the entire city the weekend of the SB. They have not been back since. I know they have had the Super Bowl in Detroit and Minn. But i wonder if that is more or less a way to throw the economy up there a bone. Weather plays a huge roll in the selection. As well as what the city has to offer people from out of town. We all know Buffalo suffers in both those areas in Jan/Feb. Not to mention, what happens if you have a freak blizzard and no planes can get in or out for a couple days before or after the game? If Buffalo built the nicest dome in the league. I dont think you would ever see the SB there. I wish, but it aint gonna happen.
  14. Actually we do have a way of knowing. Where he signs and for how much will tell everything.
  15. Growing up a Bills fan i always like dthe progame better then college. But as i get older i like the college game way better overall. I mean i can sit down and watch the Thursday night game on ESPN and really get into it, with neither team being 'my team'. Now i cant do that watching Cincy versus Cleveland on a Sunday afternoon, or Monday night game. College is great. Where else can you get a Oregon State, who got beat by PSU by like 40, go out and shock a USC. The tailgateing at a College football game especially in the south is ridiculious. I went a couple of years in a row to the UGA vs Fla game in Jax. Best looking women and most fun you will ever have. In the south college football is crazy. Its like how Buffalo feels about the Bills but worse.
  16. Look, I do not like Parcells anymore then the next guy. But he eats Marvs luch everyday of the week when it comes to gameday coaching. He kept that game close, he had Jeff Hoestetler as his starting QB. If Simms is in there you think maybe the 48 y/o FG would have even mattered? I have always thought that 'nine out of ten times thing' myself. But who is to say Parcells would not have changed his coaching and strategy. We need to face it and move on. The Bills on paper had way better talent, Giants had better coaching. That game proves something: give me a great coach with average talent, and it will beat great talent with an average coach every dang Sunday.
  17. NY was a better coached team. So the Giants were the better team, because the coach is part of the team. And the Bills had no shot in the three subsequent SB either. I love the Bills and loved the SB era but we got what we deserved in every game.
  18. If you still think Losman can play football at a pro level successfully, will you please make that your tag line(or whatever it is called). So i know to skip over whatever it is you have to say about football.
  19. I think you hit the nail on the head. Simpson has been underachieving from day one. I know some of it had to due to injury. His latest brush with the law, and his injuries/lack of production, make him very expendable. Plus Byrd will be a starter from day one. Barring an injury.
  20. And is Marv still with the Bills?? But i guess if we can get a hold of Doc and Marty, maybe they will let us borrow the Delorian and take it out for a spin. Then we could just go back and fix all these mistakes. But then what would guys like you have to do all day?
  21. I thought so. But sometimes you never know on here.
  22. If you are going to start playing that game, then you better get out a piece of paper. How many guys passed on Brady????
  23. First of all what are you basing that on? Did you watch Losman play at all last year. In the Miami game and the Jets game he was horrible. Could argue he single handedly lost those games. I mean here was a guy that was playing for a contract and he had the biggest 'dear in the headlights' reaction i have ever seen. He was completely terrible. If it came out in 10 -15 years from now that he purpousely lost the Jets game i would not be surprised. I am sorry i will take my chances with the grass on the otherside, in this instance. Oh yeah and like another poster said. Every team for the most part is in the same boat. There usually is a reason a guy is a back up.
  24. I love it. You are right on. There are a few people here that love to live in the past. Not go forward. Fact is they got the 8th best ranked DT (according to the Sporting News) for a 3rd and a 5th. Now That is better then a 1st right???? Maybe you could look at it that way. But no, lets call the Bills F.O morons. Because you sitting in your cubicle could do a better job then them. RIGHHHHHHHHHHTTTT.
  25. Exactly. A voice of reason. I will go one further, his agent also was involved. To me this sounds like a guy being realistic and thankful. Realistic- He is in his lates 20's playing RB. He would turn 32 by the time this contract is up. Thankful- The Bills saw enough in him to bring him over form the Arena League. Oh and stop feeling sorry for the guy. He is going to make 7.5 million, if he plays out the whole deal. How many families in Buffalo would it take to equal that number.
