  1. I dont see Cowher coaching Buffalo next year. Do any of you really? I mean really? Not hoping. And before you point to the T.O signing, they are two totally different things. First T.O had just been fired. He was being blamed for ruining 3 teams. Not too many clubs were calling, and i bet none offered $6.5 mil gauranteed. Personally i think it is a bad year for Cowher to try and coach again. Fox is staying in Carolina, Shanahan to D.C. Oakland who knows and who wants it? Dallas is the wild card. If they dont win a play off game Wade is out. But does Cowher want to work for Jerry Jones? I think he stays in the warm confines of the studio for another year. Sorry Bills fans. Not saying that its a bad thing either. Maybe Buffalo gets the next young 'fire in his belly' cord, who turns out to be here for the next 10 years.
  2. Schobel is gone i think after this year. From talking to a couple of guys that work for the Bills (no not anyone special like Russ) he has been talking about retireing after the season is done. Supposedly he hates football. He likes the money but wants to go back to his ranch. I go back and forth on Cowher and all the other big name guys. Personally if you dont get the GM right the rest is wrong. Go out and find the right GM a guy that has worked on some good staffs, like under Polian. Then let him hire his coach. The GM works with the coach on what the coaches philosophy is and thus what type of players are most important and what those players strengths should be. They then look over the current roster, see who is in and who is out. Go draft and sign guys in FA. Explain to everyone it will be a 3 year process. But within the next three years you expect to have a playoff team and thus be competing for a championship again in Buffalo. The same Buffalo guys also told me that Russ has admited the orgination needs a GM and he has been out interviewing guys.
  3. Dave Caldwell He is head of the Atlanta Falcons college scouting. He has held that position for the past 2+ years. He was hand picked by Dimitrof from Indy. Caldwell worked under Polian for 8 years. He is a WNY native. Has over ten years working with very succesful personel guys. Only real negative is his age. 36 i think. But i would like to see a young guy in charge. Have certain people around that can help him, but he has ultimate say on personel moves.
  4. Bingo Bills need to clean house in this area too. No way is it a coincidence that every year the Bills end up with about 25% of there opening day starters on the IR by the end of the year. A team can have some bad luck here and there but every year? Thats not bad luck thats a serious problem.
  5. +1 Bradford is the best pro QB prospect. And due to his injury he might be available when the Bills pick. If he had a great senior season he would be gone at number 1. Spoke with a scout i know. I asked him who is the best qb? Without hesitation he said Bradford. This scout was involved in the Peyton and Matt Ryan picks. Just saying.
  6. I would rather know what Polian thinks about Sam Bradford, the best QB this year.
  7. I am not going to copy Touchdown Jesus' post. But i think if anything it proves you take a qb in the top 15 picks of the first. Yes there are guys drafted in the 3-6th rounds. Most are not great qbs. The one exception is Brady. Warner was also a great qb (good now). The Bills should go after Bradford. He is the real deal. The next Matt Ryan type qb. He might be available at 8-10 in the draft due to his injury. Not sure though. At the end of the day the Bills need a true GM, a talent guy, to make this decision. But i am sick of project qbs and guys that fall to the third round. They take atleast 2-3 years to develope. You want to go thru another 3 years of 7-9?
  8. He is not an NFL qb. You saw Saturday why he wont be. The only time he really hurt Bama was when he took off running. Thats great in college, but he will get eaten alive in the NFL. I have watched him play for 4 years. He will be out of the league in 4 years with too many concussions. Take Bradford in the 1st. Get your franchise qb.
  9. Take Sam Bradford with your first. Then trade back up and get a LT. stop trying to show everyone you are smarter then them. Bradford is the real deal. LeFevour may or may not be. He has Trent Edwards J.P, Collins, and who ever else the Bills drafted in the last 13 years writen all over him. They only time this franchise had any real success in the last 30 years was under Kelly. A true consensus first rounder.
  10. Bradford is the best QB in this upcomming draft. Because of the injury he might be available a little bit later, like 7-10. But dont see him falling off way past that. Unless he has a bad combine.
  11. Great! and the bills are still 1-2. About the same winning percent as under Jauron. Sorry but lets see how this team is after the last week. I dont dislike Fewell. But think any decision made abut him is very premature.
  12. Hire a GM, let him interview Fewell and evryone else. If he believes Fewell is the right man that let him hire him. The GM brings in his heads of scouting. The guy i like is down here in Atlanta, David Caldwell. Head of college scouting for the Falcons. Was hired by Dimitrof from INDY. Caldwell worked under Polian for 10 years. Then in Atlanta for the last two. Only knock is his age. But Dimitrof went from head of college scouting for NE to Atlanta's GM. And Dimitrof is young too. And Caldwell is from Buffalo.
  13. Not sure you want Shanahan. His catch phrase in Denver was "get me another guy". After they had went out and paid big bucks for a player that now Shanahan did not like. Sounds like he was good at spending money not so great at picking the right guy. Either way, if Ralph wants to show us he is serious about winning, then he hires a GM. Lets the GM hire a head coach and his heads of scouting. Keeps Brandon around for marketing. or not, dont really care, a winner markets itself!!!!
  14. If everyone is doing the 3-4 why do you want to do it? I do not think the problem is the scheme as much as the talent in the front 7. Another strong DT to go along with Stroud would go a long way into helping that problem. I like Williams. Or what about Seymoore(SP) Him and Stroud back together would be great.
  15. It is never a bad thing to win games, especially on a young team like Buffalo. It should mean younger guys are learning and becoming better players. As far draft status goes, who cares. Worry about that later. Heck the way things are going, if there was someone you really liked in the top 5, you can always move up. trades are happening more and more. You think Detroit is going to want to have another rookie salary in the top 5 of the draft? Just saying, win now, worry about the draft in the offseason. Remember the Ravens in 1999. They won their last 8 games. It set the tone for them the next year. went on to beat the Giants in the Superbowl that year. I know its a strech, but we accomplished what needed to happen this year, Jauron is gone, now start finding out what you got for next year.
  16. You should be asking, " would you like Kubiak as your OC, if he was to be released?" answer is, "yes".
  17. Tony Dungy could not look less comfortable. He is a very good man. And was a good coach, but he doe snot belong on tv. Maybe back on the sidelines, but not standing next to Dan Patrick, trying to figure out what camera to look in.
  18. Need to hire a GM. Period. Then let him interview coaches. Maybe Fewell gets the job, but not unless the GM makes the hire. I got an obscure name for you. David Caldwell, head of college scouting for the Falcons. Was under Polian in INDY for years. Then was brought to Atlanta by Dimitrof. Has spent 12 years under INDY/N.E run systems. He is young, oh and is a Buffalo boy. Just a thought.
  19. Fishcer did not want Young back in. Bud Adams forced that move. Now that it is working, it makes Fishcer not look the best. Just trying to help you out there BillNYC.
  20. Lynch looked good against the Jets. Has not played well the last couple weeks. Both are good backs. Compliment each other well. But play behind an oline that as of today has just 5 healthy bodies. And i am not sure the Bills ever had the same line start 2 weeks in a row this whole season. The problem is/was bad play calling and a young/hurt oline. The best running back ever, according to yardage gained, is Emmit Smith. Does anyone think he is the best back? Or is it because he played behind the best Oline for most of his career.
  21. Peters play is very inconsistent at best. He blocks great for a few plays then it looks like he is on roller skates. Sorry not what you want for what you are paying him.
  22. How do you think the Bills and Jags are similar? What are you baseing that off of. The Jags have little to no fan base what so ever. They have 40k show up to their games. I know the Bills ticket prices are maybe a little less, but no where near enough to offest the 30k more people that go to games. Personally i think you are pulling numbers out your ahole. The Jags move first. They are a newer franchise, that never really caught on.
  23. No way a guy that size, that moves that fast, lasts after the first 10 picks. Unless he tears an ACL, while running away from the cops, after getting caught breaking into his ex gfs apt, while haveing a bag of weed on himself.
  24. You cant interview a coach that is on another team during the season, i believe. And you have to interview atleast one minority coach too. If the Bills want to interview Shanahan or any of the other big name guys(Holmgrin, Cowher, Gruden, and Schottenheimer) they can now. But i don't think you see a hire till mid January at the earliest. More like after the Super Bowl probably.
