  1. at the same time... we are only a few pieces away. namely a OLB or 2 and either a good solid NT to eat up the middle of the line and move Williams to end or find another dominant end to put on the other side of Williams to offset Williams lack of ideal size for the position. so if we got a defensive coordinator that actually knew how to run a good 3-4 we could have a really lights out D
  2. not sorry we let him go but its things like this that show you what good defensive coaching can do for you and how much better we could be with a good defensive coordinator to run the 3-4 defense properly not this hybrid **** we need someone here who can run the 3-4 the way it should be run
  3. im aware of why he played inside the point is he can play both and be dominant at either position and i agree he would make the defense instantly better put him on the strong side at OLB and cut Kelsay.
  4. Upshaw in a heartbeat! the guy is an animal, he can play inside and outside in our defense and he is a pass rush demon. you can line him up all over and rush the passer with him if he is there i want him i agree with everything but the is not a ILB part, he has played both and is dominant wherever he lines up
  5. Jones isnt playing good enough to be the #2 WR just that simple he has had a cpl nice catches thats it. Nelson should be starting over Jones and im almost to the point where i think Brad Smith should be in the slot and bump Jones down to 4th on the depth chart.
  6. i never said i was excited about him or thought he was anything special. what i said is i think he is a better player then most the scrubs we have along our line and definitely better the our back up scrubs
  7. Tony Ugoh? Any interest? he was cut today by Detroit. i think he would be a cheap pick up that at very least would be good depth if hes not better then what we have, which i think he could be
  8. i hope not, id rather see only 2 TE's and haveMartin be gone. and idk about OL besides Wood and Levitre the whole group could be cut for all i care they need better starters at LT,RG and RT and better depth all across
  9. i didnt say i want Martin over Easley. id much rather have Easley but they are 2 different positons. i dont think the Bills will mak any changes to the TE depth and as of rite now Easley hasnt earned a roster spot over guys like Jones and Roosevelt no matter where he was drafed he hasnt earned anything yet. and idk what game you were watchin latnight but Heard was playing RDE and did a pretty decent job at it,enough in fact that id rather keep him for depth then keep Spencer Johnson. Carrington is just a pipe dream id love to see that happen hv him and Batten man that spot i know Kelsay will be here just dont want him here as a starter anyway. and as i just said IMO Easley hasnt earned anything yet guys like Roosevelt and Jones will make the team before Easley rite now.
  10. this isnt what i think they will do guys this is just what id like to see

  12. I dont agree with the popular thought that Kelsay cant play at a decent level but i dont believe that he is a starting caliber player esp at LB and after seeing the way Carrington shined at the position lastnite i believe that he should get alot more reps there and be given the chance to compete for that starting spot. if he beats out Kelsay like i think he can then one of 2 things can happen. you either cut Kelsay out rite and save the team some cash/cap or you ask him to restructure his contract to an amount thats acceptable for a back up player. i wouldn't mind seeing him take a pay cut and stay as a back up because of the fact that he is a high motor guy that never quits. but if he doesn't take a pay cut you say goodbye and use that extra cash to go out and extend some key players contracts like Fitz, Kyle Williams, and Stevie Johnsn. and maybe get some depth at OT
  13. idk off the top of my head i was scowering google for it because i knew there was a difference..ill have to go look for it again.. and i know when he retired but keep in mind he played the bulk of his 14 year career in the 90's and while its not that long ago it is a different era in respects to player sizes
  14. The average offensive tackle weighed 292.35 lbs in the 1990's, 313.95 today. The average offensive guard weighed 284.95 lbs in the 1990's, 310.88 today. The average center, 285.91 lbs, in the 1990's 291.89 lbs today The average tight end, 236.56 in the 1990's, 252.1 today you cant compare 2 different era's like that and say that sharpe wasnt a true TE because he was 6'2 228. as you can see he was only slitely below the average for that posistion in that era. of course the TE's now are going to be bigger. every posistion in the NFL is on average bigger then what it was in that era
  15. theres no way Gates is a better blocker. Gates and Sharpe are virtually the same player just gates is a little bigger. and what does size matter anyway? there are loads of players that were "too small" for they're positions that are hall of famers or future hall of famers that doesn't mean they aren't a real player at that position. you gonna tell me a guy like Mike Singletary wasn't a true ILB because he was closer to the size of a Safety(6'0 230)then to the prototypical size of a ILB 6'2-6'5 240-260?? that argument just doesn't work and debunks your whole argument. Sharpe was a TE no matter what his size was or his blocking ability thats the position he played and he did it at a high level
