  1. Your first two points are preferred options, is there a way to accomplish this now while structuring Diggs contract? Seems like if Beane keeps Diggs happy then they move on from Davis in two years because the cap hit to cut/trade Diggs would be prohibitive. I will admit I’m not 100% positive how trades work regarding cap hits, but I’m pretty sure it depends on how the deal is structured. A player can be traded but the original team can still take a cap hit.
  2. For the sake of conversation, what happens if over the next two years, Gabe Davis turns into a more productive receiver than Diggs? Would Diggs contract prohibit signing Davis? Can you have $50 mil tied up in the WR room for a year or two? I am all for extending Diggs. It’s the off-season and I’m bored so this is just speculation on what Beane can do, if anything, to manage this scenario now with Diggs extension.
  3. Must be a really slow news/sports week. Of course this is going to get reactions and generate discussion.
  4. McD had the play, squib kickoff. McD didn’t execute, walk over and tell Bass.
  5. I am not sure why, but this makes a ton of sense. Maybe the most stable franchise in the NFL from a coaching perspective, 3 HC in like 50 years.
  6. Yea Feliciano and Williams are nice cap savings, maybe Williams can fetch a day three draft pick for someone desperate for a RT. I think Bates is back and I hope it’s maybe a 3 year deal worth around $3-4m a year. I also would like to see if Kromer can get anything out of Ford. Draft an IOL in the first three rounds and maybe one late with one of the 4 picks in rounds 6 & 7. It will be interesting to see what vet is brought In to compete for the swing tackle job with Doyle. OP also brings up another interesting aspect as far as philosophy regarding runs for Josh. Maybe this was discussed with Dorsey before the hire as OC. It will mean additions at RB either through the draft or FA. Need to find someone with speed, like Breida, but who also can block and reads the playbook.
  7. Bills need to get younger, faster, and cheaper at WR= draft.
  8. It was a great show. They took a very realistic approach to the cap and how to make room. They didn’t touch White, Dawkins, and a few other guys salaries for now. They left those as “coupons” if they needed an extra move or two to make a trade or pickup in FA that they couldn’t pass on. $28 million and they don’t put the team in any serious cap jeopardy. This means that the draft will become that more important. I feel like it’s the opposite of last year where Beane basically said it was going to be difficult for rookies to make the team. This draft they will need to find two immediate starters, interior O or D line and then probably WR 3 or CB 2, and two more rotation guys for next season. With another player who can contribute on special teams and hopefully become a contributor like a S. Neal. Keep the core and then build in the draft.
  9. I was being generous. While they may be bad they got to the SB.
  10. This pretty much sums up why he isn’t on the Bills. He needs to focus on himself.
  11. Not only did Spain miss on Donald, which is easy to do; the play before, 3rd and 2, he got beat as well. It was his man who made initial contact to stop the Bengals RB and then Donald came in to help clean it up. I was talking to my buddy who is a Bengals fan early in the day before the game and said Spain is the only Bengal player I don’t like after his comments. They made zero sense and then his performance showed why he got let go.
  12. Yea, the OP brings cliché sayings into discussions which have very little relevance. He wants the Bills to do what the Rams did the past 5 years. Trade picks and mortgage the future for one Super Bowl win, although he was arguing for the approach before the Rams won, so that part isn’t clear. I want a Super Bowl win. I will say watching that celebration afterwards, the only person I was happy for was Donald and maybe Whitworth (I didn’t see him before I turned it off). The rest of the players all seemed glad they finally got a ring for themselves. Maybe I’m not explaining it right, but i think when the Bills win it will mean more to everyone who accomplishes the feat.
  13. Well when you have Q. Spain in there getting beat like a drum, there’s a reason you can’t rush the ball. Bengals oline is ok not great. Rams dline is amazing. Now they will fall apart and be horrible for 10 years.
  14. Again, I don’t think anyone in here makes fun of other teams strategies. I’m not making fun of the Rams. If they win tonight I will applaud them. If they don’t win the SB tonight the window will probably be closed on their chances.
  15. The issue won’t be style of offense, it will be about play calling. Having right personnel on the field to maximize a plays potential. There will be a learning curve but I think if Dorsey, Brady, Hall, and Kromer work well together, we will see good things.
  16. I don’t see how this phrase is relevant to this discussion.
  17. If the Rams lose tonight, that’s the reason not to copy their approach exactly. I am all for trading our first round pick for a pass rusher. After that I’m not sure how much more I want to emulate the Rams style if they lose.
  18. Check back with my after the SB and I will let you know.
  19. Looks like a nice vet. love to see this type of FA signing. Bring back Bates. Draft IOL 2-4 round and then with one of the 7th rounders. Cut D. Williams and Feliciano, restructure Morse. Oline coule be set for two years.
  20. I am interested to see how ole McCorckle Jones looks this year without Josh McDaniels. Keyshawn might be saying McCocrkle is no Josh McCown.
  21. Gosh I really hope Davis turn out to be the player I think he is. You will look foolish for this comparison. No way Davis makes it to 25. He will have an excellent career. Btw, plenty of “fat guys” as you like to call them, have had amazing careers in the NFL. I’m not responding to anymore of your posts on this subject. Just putting my take on the record.
  22. Wait, would Belichick want a player with Rogers skill set? Honestly, with your assessment that Belichick wouldn’t want Josh as his QB, I’m not sure you should be debating anyone about QB rankings.
  23. I don’t think any reasonable fan wants a RB early in the draft. The offense is missing playmakers with elite speed. Speed at RB would add a wrinkle to this offense. Screen game would benefit.
  24. I want a fast back to compliment what’s already in the rb room. I’ll take a smaller, quick back from a small school even. 5th round or later.
