  1. If things pan out the way it looks like it might, most of the credit will have to go to Marv. Its hard to believe that this team was seen as so hopeless 2 seasons that the coach walked out so as to avoid a certain resume stain. Freakin' Marv, even the Whitner over Ngata pick is slowly turning in Marv's favor as time goes by.
  2. Some of these posts are hillarious. The raiders RAN for 300 on the road last week against KC who hung tough with NE. Lets worry about the raiders.
  3. i see visions of scott norwood in my worst nightmares. he did somehow kick that fourth quarter 50+ yarder in Jan 92 in freezing temps to hold off denver in the 91 afc title. was norwoods greatest kick ever. no one talks about it and no one remebers it happened after sb 25
  4. I agree -- football must be played outside. all the dome teams have gotten rid of or are in the process of getting rid of their domes. Most of these retractable roof deals are just as bad as a dome, with their racing stripe type roofs. That new place Indy has is repulsive. Give me a bog open bowl and save $400M in the process.
  5. sorry if this covered elsewhere -- can the bills trade crowell, or is he automatically IR'd throughout the league for the rest of the year. what if he's released, can he play for someone else in 08.
  6. how can you post a topic like this on the day that Peters ends his holdout. the 00s are by far the best decade. you can follow any innocuous news item or rumor endlessly on line. where would you rather be than right here right now.
  7. hey at least it wasn't the patriots. that is usually a tell tale sign of having blown it.
  8. If we are going to compete with the spending capacity of our rich neighbors to the north and keep the team here we need as many true fans like this as possible.
  9. i love how manning and brady pulled a bruce this year, and decided they weren't going to show up to camp. you have to be a top 2 player in the league to pull it off, and bruce certainly was that for many many years.
  10. other monster road wins not mentioned at pittsburgh 1976 wk 5 on the road, 1980, 4-0 Bills win AT 4-0 San Diego at indy 1987 (signs of greatness) at bucs, 1991, 1 great play by the biscuit at raiders, 1991 (SI cover AFC Superpower Buffalo Bags the Raiders) at philly 1993 (started 4 game surge to home field) at philly 1996 at miami 1999 if they had managed to close out home field in 92, I would have had to rank the miami monday night game that year as the greatest road win of all time. that was an epic. bruce went nuts that night. what i would do for 1 franchise changing giant road win in 08. how about at NE.
  11. No way should Poz be the feautured guy. He's only played 2 games. Edwards before Poz. Lynch? Not with the recent incident. If its going to be a current player, Evans would be a good choice, but is probably gone after this year. My vote would be Peters if he signs and then Mcgee. Solid vet CB, great special teamer, which is what the current team is noted for.
  12. he will keep having team meetings at his house, and will keep calling the local and national press in so he can tell everyone how he has team meetings at his house and what a great team leader he is and what a great off the field game he has. his season will peak at about week 10 before the voting when he gets Inside the NFL to feature him and he tells chris collinsworth about how he's been mentoring leodis. this act is getting old. i can't believe how many people have been taken in.
  13. wheres the hit heard round the world. how can that be left off.
  14. i may never get over passing on ngata in that draft. however, whitner is one of those picks that 7-10 years later you realize was a great one. a second year player hosting team meetings at his house is un heard of. won all sorts of academic awards in college, character rating is off the charts. with more beef up front his play has a chance to improve from sound to great. many of marvs moves look better in retrospect.
  15. don't short change wright -- get ready the jackson/wright committee and 7-9 once again
  16. funny how all these teams - chargers, jets, giants, bills -- realized their 60s uniforms were the coolest
  17. ted cottrel will introduce bruce at hof induction
