OBJ, Samuel, Shakir, Coleman with Kincaid and Knox would be upper tier. There’s no true #1 WR but Houston, Baltimore, and Green Bay did fine without one.

Even had he held in the 9th, they would have found a way to lose it in extras anyway. That 12-3 stretch after the 0-5 start was an anomaly. I'm with you Gugs. I was excited to finally be witnessing a legit no hitter. Santana would have lost his had replay been around then and the other is a combined no hitter which I don't even count. I can't believe that a franchise that has been around since 1962 and has a rich tradition of good pitchers has nothing but those two flukes. <sigh>

The game has changed a lot since Andre played. Andre now would have matched Diggs production especially with Allen. The bills were more balanced back then too I believe with Thurman.

Why would they let their OC have major influence? He's their 3rd in 4 years. Under McDermott it's written in stone that we'll have to hire a new OC every 2-3 years because the current one will always eventually be fired or hired away as a head coach. And it's not like McDermott is dictating the long-term offensive philosophy beyond a vague oversight. So any time we add players to the offense it won't be with any particular system in mind. They're going to throw a bunch of low investment guys at the coach and tell him and Allen to figure it out. A lot of fans have seemingly convinced themselves that small ball, ball control offense has been the plan all along. I don't think that's true at all. I think the personnel investments have forced that to be the only valid offensive philosophy we can use this year. Is it what Brady wants? The guy that coached an LSU offense featuring Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson? Color me skeptical. But it's the offense he'll get and he'll like it, or else we'll cycle on through to the next offensive coach getting their feet wet.

I wish more Bills fans recognized this. The National Media I get. Diggs, Davis Poyer, White etc were National Household names. Of course the media is going to paint our doom, especially with the love affair with Aaron Rodgers and Miami. Us Bills fans should know better. Hyde is about to retire. Poyer being so great grabbed 2 million as a FA. White has played 10 games in 3 seasons. Davis could never put up decent #s even though he had Diggs opposite him and Allen as his QB. Morse was solid but who knows when his next concussion will happen. Diggs was the only loss the Bills are going to feel this season and quite honestly I'll take the extra 30 million in cap space moving forward. All these guys were serious let downs in the playoffs. Of course Davis will always have the 2021 Chiefs Divisional Game. Diggs disappearing act in the playoffs wore thin.

Current stance: none of them excite me or materially move the needle. I would wait til camp and see about cuts, late trades and if we have any injuries. someone will roll an ankle but whether that is cook or Samuel changes need quite drastically and around cut day I think the available talent will also be better. once upon a time I thought we would consider a guy like Simmons June 1 but now? Probably wait til august before considering anything noteworthy.

That's great that you think that. But that's not how the NFL works. It's like a fan saying they think a Guard can be converted to a Tackle, or a Nickel can be converted to a Boundary CB, a DT can be a Pass Rusher, a CB can be a Safety, etc. Tyler Boyd has taken 81% of his total career snaps out of the Slot. And that's a swayed number as he did it a lot more in earlier seasons before they realized he wasn't suited for the role and has exclusively worked and succeeded from the Slot ever since. He's even more of a Slot than Samuel is. Shakir is not an Outside WR either. Everyone wants to say he can play the role, but when we put him there in a pinch in the Playoffs when we were thin - he didn't produce.

Team guy. If Coleman’s play matches his vibes he might be rookie of the year.
