You really don't need cutting edge tech. I've seen dr's use their phones with an ultrasound attachment to find pleural effusions, visualize the heart, etc... We don't at bedside all the time. They locate a pocket of fluid big enough to safely drain, mark the spot, insert a needle with catheter until fluid begins to drain, pull the needle leaving the cath and wait until it's done draining. Pull the cath and all done. The margin for error is small though. Go to far and you cause a pneumo

I think he’s saying if the pats lost earlier in the day to the jets falling to 11-5 we would just need to beat the jets week 18 and there’s no way the pats could jump us making the eagles game somewhat meaningless. The jets game is a must win even if we were to win the eagles game because we blow the division tiebreaker if we lose that one

Ya, those headaches are typically a result of CSF leaking from the injection site. If it persists, they have to go back in and fix the leak

It’s an interesting hypothetical but if NE drops three in a row i think it’s pretty likely we’re playing for the 1 seed in week 17 and 18. Also if we’re at 12-4 after beating the eagles and pats are 11-5 there’s still the small possibility both teams lose week 18 making that eagles win meaningful. In this reality the jets would’ve just beat the pats a few weeks before so they’re probably playing decent football 😂. Aah thinkin about this more I guess we’d have the division tiebreaker neutralized if we lost one division game and pats lost 3 more anyway makin the eagles game meaningless again haha still think the 1 seed philosophy will hold but that intentional loss argument as far as the division goes seems to check out

I experienced a sort of similar procedure decades ago, before MRI’s, that required precision and risks. Had to get myelogram injections in the ‘80’s, a spinal tap to inject dye into the spinal fluid. I had 3 done, one at a time, minimal pain med/anesthetic is given. Basically you bite the bullet as the needle is inserted in and hope no nerve gets knicked, which mine weren’t, but they do get touched, mine did. It shoots pain bolts down your legs and causes hard back spasms but you cannot move from them, if you do the dye can leak and cause unbearable headaches, though some sort of headache is typical as most do move a little, and laying flat for 24hrs. afterwards is common to relieve it. I got through it well and only had to lay flat for about 4hrs afterwards as I developed no headache at all.

Only above .500 teams they’ve seen are pit,Carolina,Buffalo. If they lose the rematch with the bills I think there’s gonna be a lot of heat on the whole ‘who did they beat’ narrative because who really cares about the flukey less recent head to head with buffalo. If they win they will likely become a Super Bowl favorite. It’s pretty ironic really because on paper the game really doesn’t mean a whole lot…bills are very likely a playoff team still with a loss and pats are likely still winning the division with a loss. narrative wise it feels huge though. There’s gonna be a lottt of 2020 Steelers comparisons with NE if the bills win this one comfortably

If you're down by 14 in the 4th Q you should always go for 2. If you have a 40% chance of converting (somewhat less than league average) the odds look like this: 40% chance of converting the first 2 pt conversion leading to a large advantage (win on the next TD+PAT) 36% chance of failing both 2 point conversions leading to a large disadvantage (2 point deficit) 24% chance failing the 1st 2 point conversion and succeeding on the 2nd leading to a tie

the ne/ balt Phil/ buf games don’t matter much in tiebreakers. buffalo needs to beat pats and jets and pats need to lose to buf and one of jets/ fins for buff to win the division. if the pats lose to the ravens and bills bear browns where they are tied at 11-4, the pats play jets first, so if the pats lose, the bills could text their starters against the eagles with only needing to beat the jets for the division the following week. the issue in beating the eagles has to do with seeding… if Buffalo wins out and gets the division at 13-4 then they can be the top seed if….. 1. jags lose a game ( say Denver) 2. Den lose to packers and kc putting them at 12-4 3. Chargers lose 1 game among at kc, at dal, hou. Entering week 18 at 11+5 sin e chargers- broncos finish off the season, chargers win thrn they win div at 12-5 so buffalo would be top seed.

when you are down 14 the better odds are to go for 2 if you think your offense is good enough to succeed on short yardage plays.

Call me crazy but I thought about half the penalties called on the Falcons were ticky tack BS that shouldn't have been called. Still a sloppy game from them though. I also thought that the Robinson catch and fumble should've been an incompletion. No idea how the Evans catch a few plays later was a catch (it clearly hit the ground before he completed the process).
