  1. Past hour
  2. Bizarre take. Just totally out of left field. We had like 20 years of lifeless football to watch. I don’t think anyone who lived through that doesn’t realize how much better it is now. To relate all of that to the Tyreek Hill injury is just absurd though
  3. I feel bad for them. The injuries are frustrating especially with the salary cap preventing teams from having decent backups.
  4. Think this is a fair summary. I think people are a little quick to forget Knox at tight end and he is still playing an important role for them this year (and is blocking just as well as Hawes by the way) but I take the point that his continued presence as a Buffalo Bill beyond 2025 is a big question mark given there is no way at all he plays on his 2026 cap number.
  5. The Ravens will be 1-6 and their fans will be like “Lamar is the real MVP”
  6. Bengals look on pace to pull a Ja’Marr Chase on Defense and draft Ruben Bain to replace Trey Hendrickson.
  7. I love how you put Acuna, Baty, Mauricio and Vientos all under Definitely/Maybe. I don't think they should dump all of them or keep all of them, but they can't go into next year with all of them again. I'm inclined to see what Acuna can do full time at second - love his defense and speed. And I really don't want to give up on Mauricio but I'm also not ready to hand him 3B.
  8. Poor Tyreek.......only impregnated 3 women on that play.
  9. He hasn't. I posted them above. Knox leads Bills tight ends in snaps. Positional splits for the year: Hawes - 90 of his 108 snaps have been inline, 16 in the slot and 2 split wide; Knox - 96 of his 145 snaps have been inline, 29 in the slot, 17 split wide and 3 in the backfield; Kincaid - 51 of his 134 snaps have been inline, 55 in the slot, 28 split wide; That shows you how the three guys are used pretty differently. They use Kincaid primarily as a matchup weapon in the passing game, the use Knox as a versatile chess piece who can play in multiple packages and they use Hawes really as an inline blocking tight end who occasionally will chip then leak out. They are not really fighting one another for snaps. Their usage game by game is more about gameplan and personnel packages.
  10. They have the Texans this weekend, Rams next weekend. Just a massive game for them with all the injuries and the potential to drop to 1-4. Worst part of their schedule for them to have these injuries as the schedule is much lighter on the back 1/3. Division is weak without Burrow, but Steelers look like they can get to 10-12 wins with the Browns & Bengals coming up and potentially getting to 5-1.
  11. Im counting on Ed & Hoecht to help. Both typically available and both very good players. Ogunjobi is a flyer as a guy who was very good last time he was in our style of Defense. I can’t count on Hairston or Milano. We don’t know the actual severity/timeline of Hairstons injury and even when he is a go, who knows if he can get enough reps to help us. Milano just can’t stay on the field. If I’m Beane, I’m operating as if CB2 (White/Strong), LB (Milano), S (Rapp) and EDGE (Everyone but Bosa) could use an upgrade before the trade deadline should a move make sense at any of those positions.
  12. I just want to say Knox is a huge disappointment and one of the worst second contracts in Buffalo Bills history. One of Beane's worst calls. I like him, and it's cool he gels w Josh and the team.....but he's totally JAG and replaceable. Not sure about that. Seems we have always under Brady run variants of this to all TEs.
  13. I am leaning toward a significant improvement. Looking back at the Ravens game, the defense came up big in the 4th qtr. Those 1st 3qtrs the Bills couldn't get a stop. It doesn't take many to see a significant difference, though. Watching the game it seemed hopeless, but just one forced punt puts the ball back in Josh's hands. One TO does too. The defense isn't as far away as people think. What I look at is whether the defense wilts late in the game. I'm not seeing that. If anything the defense gets tougher late in the game. That's a very good sign.
  14. Have you had another mental misfire? You quoted a post about Northam, who is currently a neurologist in Norfolk. Doesn't seem to have any political aspirations.
  15. I tend to agree but I also believe there are limits to the taxpayers social commitments.
  16. Hawes caught a well executed old screen pass from Allen on Sunday. For some unknown reason that is play that we rarely do with Knox or Kincaid. If they were just going to use him for that once a game he is valuable!
  17. 1) Weak schedule so while 4-0 is great, I’m not sure I take a ton from that aside from a great comeback against a healthy Ravens team and then beating teams we absolutely should beat. 2) JA is the best QB in the league and continues to prove it. His floor game is the ceiling for 90% of QB’s in the NFL. 3) Cook proved me wrong. I didn’t want to pay a RB. I didn’t think he was in the Henry, Saquon, JT realm of running back.. He is. James Cook is elite. 4) Free Agency anyone, anyone? Beane talked a whole lot of defiance this offseason about WR and hyping Josh Palmer. Let’s hope he grows in this Offense because ehhhh ok. 5) Kincaid & Hawes could become the best TE duo in the league in coming years. 6) Deone Walker absolute HIT. Potential high RD1 pick before the back injury and he clearly looks back to being that guy now. Sky is the limit for him. 7) Team is coasting on an early easy schedule with the core. FA additions and Draft Class not giving us much. Hairston injury, Sanders is meh to ok so far which as a rookie DT isn’t awful, Jackson can’t even get a jersey. Hoecht/Ogunjobi out til Week 8 and Josh Palmer looks like the same guy with the same usage in LA but for more money. Need to get more from the additions than just Walker & Hawes.
  18. I never said Knox would be here next season. In fact, if you go down 3 posts, you'll see that I said it's likely he won't be unless he pretty much rips up his contract by taking an insane pay cut on par with what we'd save for him being gone. What I'm saying is that Hawes will not be switching his role from an incredibly integral part of our Offense as a Blocker to becoming someone who's running routes all the time, like Knox. As I also said, he out snapped Knox in the last game. So in that sense he's already TE2. But their roles are vastly different. If you think they're going to start using him significantly less as a Blocker (where his skills are Elite and it's the role they Drafted him for) to be a route running pass catcher to replace Knox, based on the 1 time he catches a ball per game in all of the snaps he takes - i've got a bridge to sell you. Hawes was brought in to replace and upgrade from Quintin Morris as the Blocking TE (and significantly so) on this team. When the time comes and Knox is moved on, they'll bring in his replacement in the passing game then.
  19. Hawes played the most snaps of any tight end on Sunday. Id gather if you go to the season snaps he has outsnapped Knox. That said, I am not sure they even play the some position in the offense. Yes they both play tight end but Hawes is a Y inline tight end and Knox is more of a hybrid F back. Hard to say Hawes has surpassed Knox when they dont play the same position in the offense.
  20. For many of us, all we know are the drought years. We are the opposite of entitled. We finally have THE guy and it hasn’t happened yet because of coaching blunders and continued holes in roster construction that we just can’t seem to figure out (fingers crossed that’s solved this year as time goes on). That’s not to say we aren’t grateful for the team we have, and have had in recent years - but one can be appreciative while also critical, as many of us worry the current regime isn’t capable of holding up their end of the bargain around (likely) the best chance we’ll have at winning a Super Bowl in our lifetime.
