  1. Past hour
  2. Chaya and the Hitler Moms are killing it!
  3. No more depressing than living in Northern New Jersey in the first place...
  4. All jokes aside, what a horrible choice. Guy didn't even play most of the year last year. Honestly, I would have liked to see Brock Purdy. That would have been cool to see him from Mr. Irrelevant to Madden cover in a few short seasons.
  5. … If God had a name what would it be? And would you call it to his face? If you were faced with Him in all His glory What would you ask if you had just one question?
  6. ...But in all seriousness...Shakir is about to have a breakout season, and thanks for posting the link.
  7. As of this moment, this would be classified as a rumor. The official cover athlete has not yet been announced. MLFootball (Along with JPAFootball, Dov Kleiman, etc) are horrible content aggregators that just re-post things from other accounts with language tweaked in a way that is designed to get maximum engagement. Also known as "engagement farmers". They're trash. Everyone should unfollow them. Burrow may very well end up being the cover athlete -- context clues here certainly support that prediction -- but it has not yet been announced.
  8. Watched it earlier today, Shakir has som fast twitch going on 👍
  9. For me LA is the closest, but I'd rather go to Seattle. LA is a beautiful stadium, but Inglewood sucks. I've never been to a game in Seattle, but I recall from my last visit there that the stadium is pretty close to downtown - maybe just slightly south of it - and it looks like a really loud, fun stadium. Plus, it's a great city with lots to do. Indy is also a very fun city for a football game. There's a ton to do downtown, with a large convention center, the Pacers' "fieldhouse" and many bars, restaurants, and hotels nearby. The dome is only a few blocks away from all of that action. It's walkable if you're in the mood and a short cab/Uber ride if you're not. I've only been there on business, but worked and stayed downtown and remarked to myself how much fun it would be to spend a weekend there without work. And St. Elmo's steakhouse is one of the best in the country.
  10. Thanks! That Big Red Machine was one helluva team. I had thought of (and provided) some examples from the NBA, NHL, and NFL, but hadn't come up with anything for MLB. I grew up in that same time period and the Yankees had some pretty loaded teams too, such as the '78 team: Thurman Munson, Chris Chambliss, Willie Randolph, Bucky Dent, Graig Nettles, Lou Pinella, Mickey Rivers, Reggie Jackson, Sparky Lyle, Ron Guidrey, Goose Gossage, plus a number of good role players. They won 100 games and beat the Dodgers in the World Series.
  11. yeah that list is trash. It’s like they just chose random teams almost.
  12. Four home games, trip to Seattle, and I arranged a bus trip for 40+ of us to travel from Harrisburg to Batimore
  13. How in the world is the University of Utah on this list? We've had some great years recently, and not just in football.
  14. /Thread. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/josh-jacobs-apologizes-for-misinformed-statement-about-wearing-green-in-brazil Packers running back Josh Jacobs has apologized for spreading misinformation about the NFL’s preparations for the Week One Packers-Eagles game in Brazil. Jacobs said on Chris Long’s podcast that players weren’t supposed to wear green while they’re in Brazil, as a safety precaution because it’s a color associated with violent gangs. The NFL has said that is inaccurate, and now Jacobs has acknowledged as much. “Damn I was misinformed,” Jacobs wrote on Instagram. “Sorry Brazil see you soon.” The misinformation apparently stemmed from the game’s venue, Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, where the home soccer team Corinthians tells its players not to wear the color green because it’s worn by rival Palmeiras. But it doesn’t apply to American football teams playing in the stadium, and there will be plenty of green on the field and in the stands for the Packers-Eagles game on September 6.
  15. For me it was the Cincinnati Reds teams of my youth, especially the '75 team. Four of the position players that year would win have a MVP at some point and in '75 three (Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench and Pete Rose) of the top five MVP vote-getters were Reds with Joe Morgan winning it. They had two other '75 all-stars (9x all-star Dave Concepcion and 7x all-star Tony Perez) and rounding out the every day starters were eventual league MVP George Foster, 3x all-star Ken Griffey and 4x Gold Glover Ceasar Geronimo. They won 108 games in the regular season and the world series in seven. Or the '76 team where the same starting lineup will have 7 starters on the all-star team, again 3 of the top 5 MVP, again Morgan wins MVP. They go on to win it all again with sweeps in both series in the then shorter playoff format.
  16. Biden’s presidency HAS been very good for my retirement fund, I’ll give you that. Our family’s disposable income? Not so much.
  17. He was #1 in catch % amongst all WR's in the NFL, the guys ahead of him were RB's. And it paid off...so now its time to go to the next level
