You got about half your post correct... Replay assist came in and said Maye was not OOB and the clock should have kept running. Then the coaches have two options. Take a TO or there is a ten second run off. The Pats chose to do the 10 sec run off to preserve their TO as they were already in FG range. They never showed the game clock when Maye's knee hit the ground. It must have been at the 16 sec mark thus they 2 second were added back before the 10 sec was run off. The clock did fail to start but the Pats RB got down and they called TO before the half ended. They refs managed it correctly.

Bo Nix and the Bronco's Defense - the Toughest Out for the Bills?

2nd place schedule. And Chiefs have a down year. Raiders have never been worse. I don’t worry about Denver one bit. they struggled against raiders x2. And the jets. Their D is the same as last year. Well pound them only thing to worry about this year. Is the bills themselves. No more high variance. Just play mostly clean 3 games in a row -

Hey! No idea why teams run that terrible play where the QB holds the ball out there on the handoff to a single RB. The entire defense can see it coming. Sheeesh -

Hopefully this week quiets the posters that repeatedly talk about officiating conspiracies.... -
7 points is the same in the first quarter as the third. if that had been a first down play, maybe, but as a third down play that would have been a punt, it was as bad as a bad turnover.

If we get to play Denver then things are going well. So i’ll take it. Just annoying that Bo Nix has been in the league for about an hour and will earn the 1 seed and bye. argh! -

Denver at altitude having had an extra weeks rest in the playoffs is going to be a tough out for anyone. This is why losing "meaningless" early season games to teams like the falcons is often the difference between teams that go to the super bowl and teams that lose playoff games on the road. -
I agree with your comment about the replay assist. I was amazed how fast they overturned Cooks, and one look at the replay of the other was enough to at least merit a more careful look. As you said, if replay was willing to bail out Vrabel, they needed to bail out McDermott. I don't agree about McDermott. Third quarter, yes. Early in the first quarter, no. It's too early in the game. Maybe you were sure live; I thought it was a catch live. It was quite close, and in the first quarter, it's a big risk to take, both in terms of a possible lost challenge and a possible lost time out. Plays are more important in the second half. And as we well know, McDermott isn't afraid to have things go less than perfect in the first half. Mostly, as I said, and you did, too, the real problem is the replay rules. They have the capability to look at every close call and get them 90% right. That's the system we need.
