THE ROCKPILE REVIEW – At the One-Quarter Mark

Thank you. You clearly are one of the few optomists on this board (myself not included). I love you take on the team and enjoy reading your posts. I hope you are right! Go Bills!!! -
A few random thoughts about the Saints Game - Please share yours as well

Walker has been mainly 1 tech all season. He and sanders, the 3 tech, rotate in together. Walker has earned more snaps and is moving around more now tho. -

Unless the defense takes a positive turn, Our chances of making it to the Super Bowl will require Josh and company to score north of 30 points game in and game out. -
Don’t feel bad. I’m a native English speaker and I only understand every third word that Mick Jagger sings.

The Bills O should be able to impose their will if Brady doesn't get too conservative. The defense? I am not sure. Maye looks like the real deal but he is prone to mistakes if you come up with a creative defensive game plan that disguises coverages. The Steelers seem to have done this when they beat the Patriots (and really didn't deserve to). Is Babich capable of doing so? I hope so. But Milano and Oliver coming back would be nice. -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
NewEra replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s just a ridiculous statement. It all comes down to the particular players that are eventually drafted and if your FO scouts them correctly. Beane and his staff isn’t thinking that the Chiefs are better than them are in that respect. They have confidence in what they are doing. If not, they shouldn’t and wouldn’t be there. when the bills were in the clock, they wanted to trade down and get more picks. If KC is the only team offering us what WE WANT, then you make the deal. Not trading with a rival because you are giving them what they want is such a weak decision. It’s all about your team and getting what you want for your team. Have confidence or gtfo -
Spencer Brown wasn’t even Spencer Brown until year 3. There were a lot of people looking for his replacement after season 2 especially with concerns about his back but his play was at best average I would say. I get at least he was on the field tho to your point

Truthfully, McDermott needs to take over defensive play-calling to show Babich how it is done in his defence. -
They performed their heroics when the score was 31-19, with like 2 minutes left.

Yes, it is acceptable, especially on a team with a 4-0 record and serious SB contenders. Teams with crappy rosters start rookies far more frequently than teams aiming for the playoffs. No, we are not all disappointed. He's a rookie, and right now, his practice work isn't as good as other players, so he's sitting. Deal with it. Hughes was a first round bust when the Colts traded him to the Bills for, IIRC, LB Kelvin Sheppard. It was a good trade for both teams and both players as well. Sheppard had a decent NFL career and Hughes became a star for the Bills at a time when they had little to buoy them up. I think it already has. Numerous members of the "Fire Everyone" clan have already chimed in on Jackson being "a bust".

The good news is the Bills will respect the Pats and prepare accordingly. I expect a dog fight. By all account Barrimore is back and playing like a wrecking ball.

I've never seen a superbowl halftime show I cared a wit about whether it was someone I liked or not so I can't care about who they get to play it. If there's people out there that like the guy then more power to everyone who will enjoy it.
-
I think there's too much onus on the "he got his head around" part of it. He didn't play the ball and obstructed the receivers ability to get to the ball - isn't that interference?
-
1-0 this week. That's all that matters. I'll be glad when we get Oliver, Milano, and Spencer Brown back. I believe they were all sorely missed this week. I am also awaiting PEDynamic duo to make their debuts. Hopefully, they add some juice to this front and also understand disciplined football.

This is like my colleague st work longtime ago; when our CEO announced our company being acquired and all employees making money - my colleague complained that now he had to pay MORE taxes to the IRS !!!! We had a chance to hire Fangio last year -
Indeed it was the announcers were debating if it was or was not as Keon goes flying thru the field of vision on the replay...

9/28/2025 Bills vs Saints post game thread
WideNine replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have struggled with our rushing and 3rd down defense for a while. Buffalo Bills Defensive Rankings (2021–2025) Season | Rushing Defense Rank | 3rd Down Defense Rank -------|-----------------------|------------------------ 2025 | 32nd | 17th 2024 | 17th | 13th 2023 | 15th | 13th 2022 | 5th | 32nd 2021 | 13th | 1st Our tackling has been poor too and some of that starts up front with our young players getting moved off their spots and not being gap sound. Overall tackling year over year since 2021 has been uninspiring for how much attention our defensive side of the ball gets. Season | Missed Tackles | NFL Rank -------|----------------|---------- 2025 | 47 (through Week 3) | 18th 2024 | 108 | 14th 2023 | 125 | 20th 2022 | 98 | 9th 2021 | 91 | 6th Here is the breakdown by player for this year. Some of it is growing pains with young players, but plenty of players that have been around are not taking good angles, breaking down, and wrapping up in space. They have to get better with the fundamentals. I noticed that Dorian got the yank after he was juked by Rattler on a scramble and whiffed on an EZ run by Miller. In fairness Miller ran through about 5 weak arm tackles on his way to the EZ so Dorian was not alone on that one. Top 10 Buffalo Bills Players – Missed Tackles (2025) Rank | Player | Position | Missed Tackles -----|---------------------|------------|---------------- 1 | Cole Bishop | Safety | 12 2 | Christian Benford | Cornerback | 10 3 | Terrel Bernard | Linebacker | 9 4 | Taylor Rapp | Safety | 8 5 | Dorian Williams | Linebacker | 7 6 | Ed Oliver | DT | 6 7 | Matt Milano | Linebacker | 6 8 | Greg Rousseau | DE | 5 9 | Taron Johnson | Nickel CB | 5 10 | DaQuan Jones | DT | 4 There is a lot of hope that the infusion of veteran talent on the line will get this unit back on track and hopefully we can upgrade that CB2 spot, but these players and coaches need to step up. Just getting better at tackling will go a long way to improving so many of the issues this defense has getting off the field. To throw our coaching staff a bone I feel like many times the coaches have put players in position to make the tackles, but too many times that first player misses. I know each year is different, but one of our best defensive years was 2021 and that year we had 3 very senior coaches on that side of the ball with Frazier, Bob Babich Sr., and Eric Washington. Frazier took the heat for that epic loss to KC in the waning seconds, but overall the organization lost a lot of years of experience on that side of the ball. I would have to surmise that it has lead to the inconsistencies and growing pains we have seen since and probably why the team went out and brought in some veteran coaching depth on that side of the ball this year. When you make this many changes to a side of the ball it usually takes some time for all the pieces to fall into place so I am holding out hope for improvements as the season progresses. -
Held accountable for what? They were 5/13 on 3rd and 0/2 on 4th. The longest 3rd down the saints converted was 7 yards on a scramble that cam lewis missed a tackle on from the opening drive. There was also a 3rd and 1 sneak, an option run on a 3rd and 3, a 3rd and 1 run conversion, and the TD pass to Olave which was also a 3 yard distance.

Actually Baltimore has very poor numbers. Their D is decimated. Yes, that was a tough opponent but the Pats will be just as tough. Good D, well coached, Maye is good. They will give us all we can handle. Just wait n see...

Heard the name Bad Bunny before but couldn't name any songs. I'm 37 and I bet most my age or older are in a similar boat. I also heard he doesn't really sing in English and sings in Spanish instead. Poor halftime show choice it seems like but not a big deal.

2025-26 College Football General Discussion

He does look a lot the same as I remember him from last year. A lot of natural ability there. Not sure what the disconnect is. -
I would love to see a 4Q statement game against the Pats... 60 minutes both sides of the ball... a game where I dont have this constants stress LOL... but one that puts the Pats on notice that they are not that good... I suspect I wont be getting my wish though... it is my plight to fret and freak out during games...
