Agree. I don't know what the answer is. There are three possible solutions I guess if you move on: 1. McD does it again like he did in 2023 - but for 2/3rds of that season it meant him doing two jobs poorly. He did find his groove down the stretch run a bit and that was the last time our D looked even somewhat good but feels a risk. 2. Ryan Neilsen - has DC experience but was fired twice in two years before landing here and the Jags D that looked awful with him last year immediately looking decent with the new chap would be a concern. 3. Al Holcomb - was the other finalist when Babich was hired. Had three games as an interim DC in Arizona and a season as DC in Carolina with mediocre results but hard to tell how much that was on him given the talent. I don't love any of those to be honest. But I think the point where they have to try something is coming. Never good news for a coordinator when the first word that comes to mind to describe a defense is "uncoordinated" 😆

Wouldn’t be a bad idea to give a game to Landon Jackson is Groot is compromised to the point he isn’t doing much on game film. I’m not a coach my assumption is he is healthy enough to play. Has he flashed on the tv broadcast? No. Is he 100% healthy? No. Is he better than Landon Jackson? Yes.

The Reds were more deserving. That being said it still sucks. The thing that bothered me the most this weekend was the Marlins looked and acted like they wanted to win more.

If he really is cramping week 4 of an NFL season it shows he's not trainingwell, or doing what it takes to protect and prepare his body. A great QB who is over celebrated. You don't pull yourself because a boo boo in a game that is probably one of the most important of the season unless you're Lebron soft ass James.

Oh good call 100 percent. The physicality we have on offense we lack that on defense. Rapp and Dorian can bring it but they’re average players. The D line is really figuring it out mixing in the young guys. But we still don’t have THAT DUDE up front in the middle to get to the QB and disrupt the run. Really really need Sanders to come on in the second half.

Alabama currently has a trio of VERY good wide receivers, and they now have a QB who can find them. If they stay healthy, Williams, Bernard, and Horton will all play in the NFL and do quite well imo.

I was about to say the same thing. The issue on the playoffs is we have shown all of our tricks and our defense gets beat despite being dominant all year. This defense will get better and we will learn a lot about them when we see KC again. Also we have won the past 3 games by at least 10 points so it is not a dab defense simply not dominant

Lamar was unable to do anything versus the Chiefs outside the first drive everything looked impossible.

I support the "4-0 is all that matters" type takes because we've literally done it the other way before. There were at least two seasons recently where we had a dominant September (but were only 3-1 instead of 4-0 after four games) and statistically, we looked like the best team ever according to EPA / play or something like that. (There were threads on here that shouldn't be tough to find). But, as we should know by now, dominating September doesn't matter and didn't matter in those seasons. By the time the playoffs came around, we didn't play that well. For this season, I want to see us healthy and playing our best ball in January, after having rested because of the playoff bye / 1 seed. All that matters at this point is that we're 4-0 and in pole position for the bye / 1-seed.
