I do not sit around and rank DT’s. I don’t care what somebody else’s list says. I don’t think Ed has been as consistently effective as I’d like, but he’s great at times. It’s a team game, and I like our team. I see no reason to try to put them down or find things to complain about, because there’s already FAR too much of that around here.

Asante Samuel (Sr) speaks out on the Dolphins...

Sort of what it looks like from the outside but I would say lack of respect vs sensitivity. Motivation, balance, is sort of a requirement of coaching. Being sensitive doesn't mean you meet the requirement or don't meet it (Dan Campbell or Dick Vermeil are both VERY sensitive as an example and both meet the requirement easily). Players ultimately have to respect you. That is what has to happen. If they don't it gets ugly after a few years which I expect we will see more of this season. -
It's not looking good for the horse farm but there is still time

Where do you rank Ed Oliver among DTs in the NFL? Do you think Ed Oliver has lived up to his draft status? Do you think Ed Oliver is at least the third best IDL drafted in the first round of his draft class?
-
I mean he didn’t just miss on impact position. He didn’t even pick the right player within the position stack It’s not espn generating it. It’s nfl personnel executives. Much more credible

I give ESPN as much credence as my 11 year old grandson, except there is hope for him. He’s just a kid.

https://www.buffalobills.com/video/dalton-kincaid-s-35-yard-diving-grab-advances-bills-into-broncos-territory-bills-vs-broncos That’s not a catch. Many, I’d guess, most starting Tight Ends could make that catch cleanly. Most starting Tight Ends would of caught that. These are two huge drops in big spots in playoff games. That’s where winners, such as David Tyree, make game winning plays. Playoffs is where it counts most. And Dalton needs to step up this playoffs. Or it’s Choke City again. My problem is the drops in big spots. I understand Daltons Separation and YAC numbers are very good(I find YAC shocking). Bills receivers tend to break out year 3. Dalton should be healthier. Taking all of that into consideration, I am cautiously optimistic.. Hopefully Dalton is putting in the work, with Josh, and on own- dialing it in and becoming the player he’s capable of being. Go Dalton! Go Bills! watching that video over and over, it appears to me that Josh threw it to the soft spot of the zone, where Dalton was supposed to be. It appears Dalton is the correct spot, turns, runs straight towards two Chiefs, getting himself off his landmark, which then he has to reverse direction for, and he dives back to correct spot where is supposed to be.

Affordable Care Act or Obamacare

The only thing that is good from it is lowering the rate of uninsured. That could have been accomplished by expanding Medicaid for about 5-8% of the cost. The rest of it was limiting options and allowing health insurance companies to deny vital medicines to be denied. There is no private market anymore and no one will create a new company because unless you can start with a million customers you can't compete. Truly a horrible bill that has cost the country trillions is waste and caused inefficiency -
The Bills are “The Bills” … the perennial playoff team … because of Josh Allen. Give credit to Beane and/or McDermott for drafting him. The Bills are also “The Bills” … the lovable losers …. because of Beane and McDermott. It’s sickening and borderline pathetic how they’ve failed to put the right pieces in place to win a Super Bowl yet. Celebrating regular season warriors doesn’t sit well with me. Show me the mother ***** baby.

ESPN doing insider top player top 10 by positions no Ed Oliver , not even honorable mention pretty interesting that every other DT drafted in his class is in top 10 imo this is beanes biggest blunder. Can’t miss on top 10 picks. Ed is an ok player. If he was a second rounder I feel his production and impact match that

“They’re sensitive, there’s no leadership in the org. Mike McDaniel is a pushover, Chris Grier, the GM, has no backbone. They’re running this team like a Little League team.” Tough to disagree! Now, I believe this most likely stems from the Dolphins either indicating they arent interested in signing Jr., or that their offer was incredibly lower than what the Samuel camp was expecting. But always good to hear such things about Division rivals.

Great post, sentiments that almost all true Bills' fans can agree with. But unfortunately your accurate words are clear triggers for a bunch of haters, as they cannot stomach those thoughts and want only their irrational doom and gloom to dominate this message board and in as many threads as they can take over. Their fury will not allow this thread to stand as is, and that is clear already. As I have said before: Imagine Yosemite Sam, face turning a brighter red with each breath, smoke steaming out if his ears until his hat explodes off his head, as unintelligible curses stream from his mouth.

I don't see the Eagles dominating the Buffalo offense like they did against the Chiefs. I mean in the 3rd quarter of that SB the Eagles were up 34-6...Philly then allowed some garbage yards so it didn't look as lopsided as it was ending in a 22-40 beatdown. However, the Buffalo defense was dealing with injuries while starting a rookie safety and the Chiefs torched Kaiir Elam so badly that the Bills ended up dumping him to Dallas. This game was at Arrowhead and was 29-32. A lot of Bills fans want to point at the TE for this loss and they shouldn't as it was mostly the Buffalo defense to blame. Last years Bills team led the NFL in turnover ratio all season with a +24 only to get only one turnover by the Chiefs. Buffalo had 4 fumbles and recovered all of them. When you look at what the Eagles were able to do on defense compared to what Buffalo did with 2 sacks, 7 QB hits vs unreal pressure on Mahomes all game long with 11 QB hits and 6 sacks. The refs in that Bills/KC game didn't help either by calling two different plays short...and one that looked like it was right on the line and yet the refs called it a full yard short. Tough to beat the Chiefs and the Refs. https://nypost.com/2025/01/27/sports/what-went-wrong-for-bills-on-controversial-play-that-changed-everything/ Buffalo starting cornerback Christian Benford suffered a concussion late in the first quarter and did not return. McDermott noted that losing Benford, who was in concussion protocol this week and cleared to play, affected the defense. Despite the defensive issues in the first half, the Bills stayed in the game. But it wasn't enough. The Buffalo Bills made a lot of good moves this offseason so lets hope it gets them to the SB this year! GO BILLS! -
Nonsense. Those aren't ordinary catches. They're damn good. Incredibly spectacular? No. But damn good catches, for TEs or anyone else. You're right about going down easily more often last year. But you don't see that when you go back and look at his rookie year. When healthy he was bouncing off guys and running through arm tackles, and doing it an awful lot.

I’m concerned with our busted druggies. Not alllwed back til after the Bye, how are we gonna treat this? I consider Ogunjobi a washout, having only signed a 1 year deal. Hoeght, on the other hand, is a very good player and inked to a 3 year deal. But with all the other additions to the Dline whom we need to step right in and perform, where will we be at that time? Our rookie Dline players have HUGE potential at both DE & DT. If Bosa & Groot come through -meaning contributing significantly to wins through the 1st 6 weeks, who gets dumped then and why? I can’t/wont hope for an injury that would open a role, but if TJ Sanders, Solomon, Epenesa, Dwayne Carter & Landon Jackson show out early -and many of us hope/expect this, who goes to open spots. Granted, a ‘wonderful problem’ we’ve never concerned about in the past, but this year is definitely different!

Because we were often out of players on D come the playoffs, hence brining guys like AJ Klein back from vacation to suit up again. We needed better depth when we got to the playoffs and the injuries piled up.

It's a variety of factors. Scheme, personnel philosophy and talent. The smallish defense is neutralized in the playoffs because the whistles dont blow the same way, the defensive scheme is more reactive and not dictating the game, and the pass rush is many times ineffectual from the front 4. And here is the thing they are a few plays away but part of being the better team is to not have such slim margins and those most important plays are being lost on both sides of the ball, but the offense typically makes plays (minus Cincinnati) but the D is lacking the big plays to change the outcomes in those losses. So we are trying to beat the best QBs in the big moments without enough pressure on the QB. Easier said than done but small agile players arent undeniable when the refs arent giving them the calls for being held. What the Eagles, Bucs (v Mahomes)and Giants (v Brady) have done in the past several years with the DL is have size and ability to bring it with 4.
