The annual QB tier rankings from The Athletic
BigAl2526 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
The main difference between Burrows and Allen/Mahomes is that Burrows is less inclined to do creative things with his legs. For Allen and Mahomes, that makes for an extra dimension that is really hard on defenses. Another thread reported that Jamar Chase said the difference between Allen and Burrows is that teams have to game plan for Allen. -
Bought a used Taurus about 25 years ago, the Ford dealer had a 3 day guarantee or return it. I returned it, it wasn’t easy, kind of faced an inquisition, said no one’s ever done it. But in fairness I bought a nicer Crown Victoria from them and kept it.

Yes and no. How did the Democrats think Joe couldn't win so he needed to be replaced? Polling data from polling Americans. If he had been polling up by 5 he would have still run. I was just joking around about the greatest stuff. Cracks me up whenever he does the this or that is the greatest of all time routine and he does it a lot. I'll give you Biden was a horrible president. I knew in 2020 he wasn't all there and it only got worse. We'll never know about Harris cuz she lost so it doesn't really matter anymore.

No idea how Stafford made it into the top tier. There's a pretty large gap after Allen/Mahomes/Jackson/Burrow. Whatever order you want to put those guys in, they are a clear cut above the rest of the league. -
TRUE.

President Trump Cracking down on Crime in our Nation's Capital
B-Man replied to B-Man's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
DC May Be More Receptive to a Trump Takeover Than Many Assume. Trump’s options are limited, and a full-scale takeover would require an act of Congress. It is also probably dependent on how well it would be received by D.C. residents. “The city doesn’t particularly like him, and he doesn’t particularly like the city,” George Derek Musgrove, an associate history professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, recently told NPR. Less than 7 percent of the District’s voters pulled the lever for Trump last November. It seems that most would reject a takeover. But would they? A big reason they might not is auto theft, which is out of control in the nation’s capital. Thousands of residents have fallen victim in the last few years. In 2023, auto thefts reached a 15-year high of 6,773 in D.C. That declined to 5,126 in 2024 but is still way up over the 2,186 that occurred in 2019. A car theft is an incredibly exasperating and infuriating experience, the type of experience that could make Trump seizing power over D.C. seem very appealing to many residents. I would know. https://spectator.org/dc-may-be-more-receptive-to-a-trump-takeover-than-many-assume/ Read the whole thing. -
Add me in for a 3rd. I was a huge NFL historian growing up. Taped anything I could. He was one the all time best. His voice is football. Jealous of the guys who got to see the game back then.

MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN: Two more states look to ban junk food from SNAP benefits. South Carolina and Tennessee are looking to join a throng of states that have placed restrictions on what can be bought using Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/nutrition/two-more-states-look-to-ban-junk-food-from-snap-benefits/ar-AA1Kjtpn?ocid=BingNewsBrowse -
UB gets a vote in the AP preseason coaches poll. I guess that makes them the #51 team in the nation. https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/football/ncaaf/coaches-poll

I'm good with this take. If I get some time tomorrow I will take a look at how he has done with one or both Chase and Higgins out. I know they have missed a lot of time. I'm sure he has a decent sample to consider. -

He's probably the exception, not the rule. -
Don't know about you guys, but I find this ChatGPT version of Tarheel much more rational. Where's the stupid insult involving bodily fluids and f**k? Where's the paranoid style we've come to love and abhor? I think he should stick with the AI responses. Can pass for sane and semi-intelligent. Let's encourage him.

Soft on crime Democrats - the system is the problem?
B-Man replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This is why President Trump is taking over law enforcement in D.C. (and elsewhere). Democrats have proven -- time and again -- that they can't control crime. -

Burrow can’t kill you with his legs the way the others can, and Lamar can’t beat you with the creativity that Allen and Mahomes can. As you go up the ladder, each guy can do something that the guys below him can’t. -

We don’t know.. the last time he didn’t have two #1 WRs he was at Ohio state unable to beat out Haskins for the starting job… once he transferred to LSU he went from Jefferson and Chase to now Chase and Higgins. I suspect his numbers would fall off if he didn’t have arguably the best one/two punch at WR, but this isn’t a knock on him, we just haven’t seen him without the plethora of weapons. -

And Burrow puts up the numbers without the rushing threat. I’d say he has an argument as the best pure QB of the 4. The guy just slings it. -

I think he would be just fine without them. He's the the best pure passer in football. One of the only ones left who play like QB's used to play. -
all of them? I’m saying adding in a bunch of 80s rock (ie 35+ years old) probably isn’t going to happen to replace the current stuff that’s growing stale

Burrow is great, no doubt but he also throws to 2 number one receivers. no one other than maybe Philly has better top two receivers imagine Josh or Lamar in that situation?
