Okay fair enough. Getting sacked and getting hit has a higher injury risk than a designed run. 100% agree, math is clear. I am not talking about clean in the pocket though. The 0.28% number is all drop backs, excluding spikes. It was actually all drop backs of every QB, including awful ones with awful OLs from 2016 to 2020. So every QB hit or every QB sack is accounted for in those drop backs. What is EXCLUDED is scrambles and designed runs. in conclusion, despite the risk of getting hit or sacked in the pocket, it is safer for your QBs health to call a simple pocket pass than a QB designed run. 100% undisputed mathematical fact.

Separation by all receivers was an issue for a large portion of the game …

It’s what 11 o’clock. Some people have work, some people have long distances to travel, some people are so drunk they’re drooling in their chair trying to stay awake. I have never left early personally before I moved out of state but I won’t sit and judge the people who did. I learned my lesson when I was a kid at the Comeback game and wanted to leave at halftime and my mother forced us to stay because she paid good money for the tickets. Never say never until 00.00 -
Tyler Dunne's piece on Caleb Williams is DAMNING

Welp, Dunne is looking about as accurate about Williams as he was about McDermott and Aaron Rodgers. -

Not a bad opening drive for the Bears -
Im pretty confident that Coleman is going to have a productive season. What stands out to me as the difference between this year's Keon and last year's Keon is mental/attitudinal. He looks like he has fully adjusted to being on an NFL playing field to where he can now fully concentrate on continuing to learn the position. He showed great presence/concentration in adjusting to the tipped pass that went for a touchdown. He showed he understood the importance of clock management at a couple of intervals. He didn't fumble when Alexander unexpectedly tripped him up. He had his game face on and was all business attitudinally. I think he has already grown up.

You should click the link if you are struggling with context. The author SUBCATEGORIZED drop backs to just include drop backs resulting in hits or sacks. Which is really the root of all of this misunderstanding. the take du jour is that more injuries happen in the pocket because the injury rate when HIT IN THE POCKET is high. But most times a QB drops back, they aren’t hit in the pocket. This is what has propelled the misinformation, and why you are comparing apples to oranges.

Neither would Calvin Ridley -
Ray hasn’t shown much through preseason and the first game.

Yeah but getting sacked and getting hit has a higher injury rate than designed quarterback runs So you're just talking being clean in the pocket but that's not how the game works ... You're going to go through a bunch of muck So you have to look at the getting hit component.. it's safer getting hit on a quarterback designed run than it is on a pass play.. it's safer on a scramble than it is getting sacked of course from a clean pocket you're not getting hit or hurt .. but when you are getting hit on a drop back it is more dangerous that's the only point I've been trying to make

I think the people who left early are punishing themselves enough as it is. Imagine paying the kind of money for a ticket in 2025 and missing out on that celebration. Yikes. -
It is included. the injury rate of all drop backs (including sacks and knockdowns, excluding spikes) is 0.28%.

That was a band that could have really made bank with a reunion tour. “Breakfast in America” was an iconic recording from my high school days … RIP

The penalty for the fans leaving early was, they missed it! They will always know that. -
Agent could have got more money is my point, or better language to assure other aspects, guarantees, etc

I do understand all of that Simon But to me football is 100% contact game you're going to get hit every game.. sometimes Allen might get hit 2 times in the pocket... Some games he might get hit 10 times And those games he's getting hit 10 times there is a bigger injury risk than just on a designed run I understand every contact adds up and we need him healthy.. I'm just saying especially in February we need four or five Josh Allen design runs He's the ultimate football weapon
