It really might be mere preseason hype, but I'm reading that Ty Simpson is looking good at Alabama. I was not a fan of Milroe as a QB. He's a really good person and he has all the talent in the world. but he was an inadequate passer imo. Simpson cannot run like Milroe (who can?), but he can run some, and he's a very good scrambler. In the little I saw of him last season, he threw some nice, accurate passes. I wanted Coach DeBoer to put him in last year when Milroe faltered, but I'm not the coach and I'm sure DeBoer had his reasons for not doing so. There was competition for the job this year, to include a 5 star freshman (Keelon Russell), who I think will be exceptional down the road.
