I am just really skeptical of any bellichick discipline or anyone whose success is at Ohio State. Easy to look good with a $10M defense. Their former coordinators don’t seem to do well elsewhere either.

Super Bowl champs get a ton of primetime games. I think we'll have at least as many next year.

[This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive topic titles. A single name if far too vague to post as a title and provides little insight into what specifically the post is talking about. The topic starter can edit the topic title line to make it more appropriate. GET READY CALIFORNIA ! Gavin Newsom has a large stack of bills ready to be signed right before he leaves office. They are all extremely destructive “Here's what you need to prepare yourself for” - SB 177 would get around the First Amendment's editorial discretion and Section 230 to slap million dollar pop fines on platforms for content the state would determine to be inciting. This bill ends Free Speech - AB 495 completely unnecessary bill that helps no one but puts all children in danger by allowing just about anybody to fill out a caregiver authorization affidavit and come ***** a kid from school - SB 59 seals sex marker changes for minors and adults, fining anyone revealing those records, even a parent who's against it - AB 727 requires Trevor Project number on every student's ID and allows unmonitored access to chat rooms with adult themes - AB 1487 that would expand the transgender variant and intersex wellness reentry fund to the tune of $14 million, basically throwing more money at programs supporting transgender, gender variant and intersex people who've been in prison - SB 497 protecting those who help kids cut off reproductive body parts or sterilize them. It blocks out of state subpoenas and tracking of the number of females being placed on testosterone - AB 82 further expands address confidentiality to gender affirming doctors. Publishing info about them will land you in court, which violates the freedom of press and speech. It would even protect doctors violate their home state laws - 1084 will expedite birth record, sex marker, change petitions to 6 weeks. Disallow objections to those petitions. Parents won't be allowed to object to their own child's petition if the only reason is that change - SB 418 will disallow insurance carriers from refusing to provide sex rejecting interventions. They'll be forced to protect gender identity, whatever it might be, and furry surgeries will be covered

Around the NFL : Week 6 (no Bills talk in this thread, please)

It's dangerous water for him, too. Cause a ruckus and be labeled a head case but be able to try to get traded. ... Or sit and take it and be complacent to make $$ -
He didn’t work as HC. Right now, he might be considered the best defensive mind in football. He’s certainly doing a job than anyone else on that side of the ball right now.

Game week thread - Bills at Falcons MNF
Boatdrinks replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
All about TV ratings. If the Bills get boffo ratings in prime time , they will continue to be in demand. Simple as that. -
What am I missing here? Isn’t Patricia a proven failure in the NFL with a reputation for alienating players, from a coaching tree that has produced no successes?

You never know what you are getting though. Gruden came back. McCarthy came back. Doug Pederson came back. I don’t “need to know.” There is no such thing. You don’t know. Just give me there guy that you think is the right guy. The culture is already established and it is Josh’s team regardless of who is wearing the headset. The most important factor in the next coach/gm if they go that way is that they get out of Josh’s way. Where we disagree is on the downside risk. I believe there are 200 coaches currently coaching in college and the NFL that could win 11+ games with the current Bills and their schedule. Sustained excellence is guaranteed with Josh Allen in his prime. The ONLY thing that matters is taking the next step. I don’t NEED it to be Doug Pederson or Mike McCarthy because they did it before.

I think you need to read my post again bud 1. I never once said the bills are firing McDermott 2. In my post I literally said McDermott probably would not hire outside of building on the defensive side We good? Lol

Wow! The Jets are really really bad. Aaron Glenn is a complete clown. How did he get a coaching job? That was a bizarre ending of the half where the Jets go for 4th and 1 in their own end and then run the clock out with no attempts to move the ball. Change qb’s if you have that little confidence to throw the ball.

Not sure you can get him to leave for a DC job. He has one of the highest profile coordinator jobs in football. He is likely making more than Babich is now. He’s also in line for a big raise. It’s not realistic IMO despite what Chip Kelly just did. I guess if you want to pay Patricia $6M maybe.

For all you McDermott haters, who would you want? (Now a poll)

I don’t know why you wouldn’t understand that. I didn’t say don’t make a change. I said you’d better damn well know that the man you are bringing in is as good or better than Sean McDermott in running a football team. You have absolutely no idea what a rookie head coach would do calling the shots. You have no idea what staff that coach would put together. You have no idea what culture he’d bring to the locker room. You have no idea how he’d handle big games or critical game situations. You bring in a dud and there go 3 more seasons of Allen’s career. Like when Tampa let go of Dungy, the Bills had better be wise if they consider such a move.
