Interesting article in several newspapers. Only 2 of the 32 2d round draft picks have been signed. The Bills' 2d round pick, DT TJ Sanders is one of the unsigned. The sticking point is fully guaranteed contracts. In the past, teams did not offer fully guaranteed contracts to 2d rounders. This year Texas and later Cleveland broke with tradition and gave their picks fully guaranteed contract, both about $12 million. As a result, the other 2d rounders are also holding out for fully guaranteed contracts. Stats show that about a quarter of 2d rounders are not with their drafting teams within 4 years of being drafted.
