A pretty good chance that Obi is just cut week 6 for cap savings imo. Spending too much on mid DL players in free agency, drafting too many running backs in the first 4 rounds, and not drafting WRs are my three biggest gripes with Beane. That was a small part of the reason I was pumped we signed Cook. That means Beane won’t use an early pick on running back for a couple years. Im not sure we can break the other two habits lol

The one thing McDermott and Beane preach, particularly Beane, is developing and keeping your own. The Bills have put the time and effort into developing Shavers, regardless if he was on the PS or active roster (which he was last season). Now, do they keep him? I think so.

I've hated the Ogunjobi signing since Day 1. Have a feeling he's going to end up being added to the long list of DTs we give good money too, who end up doing nothing here. Hope I'm wrong.

His ceiling was always enormous. He walked talked up as a 1st round pick in 2023 before his injury. I don't think he'll ever be a run stuffer but if he can draw doubles that would be fantastic. I think there's very good chance that those two will be out starting interior by 2027

Well to be fair, the Bills defense has had plenty of players that "do all the little things" but then always fail to make a big play in a big moment. Fans maybe have gotten a bit sick of that archetype. So I think having a DL who might be the inverse of that is a great addition to the roster. Consistency is important but splash plays win games. Walker looks like a splash play waiting to happen.

I think reality with Walker on this play rests between your positive review and the video assessment. Positive - As you said, Walker occupied two offensive linemen, freeing clean space for the tackler. In fact, by the end of the play, Walker has three offensive linemen on the ground with him. We will do a lot of run-stuffing when our DT1 occupies that type of attention. Negative - Walker was immediately wiped out from the hole, offering no gap-plugging resistance at all. You or I could have held our ground as long as he did. Of course, 😊 we would be carted off the field, never to walk again. He really should play a bit more stoutly than that. Both Walker and Sanders excite me. I think our d-line is headed in a good direction.

Don’t even try that with me. I’m constantly saying we need to enjoy the ride and appreciate what this is. I’m fully aware of how lucky we are to have the best player in the nfl on our team. I’m not the one for that. What I’m saying is can we get a break for once? We are going to all look back and appreciate this run someday but it absolutely will change if we never finish one. We have to win a Super Bowl here or this will never be what it should. I just want to feel like we have all hands on deck for a change. Walker has ridiculous upside. A man that big that can throw O-Lineman around and move the way he does… some of those plays are Richard Seymour-esque. He might even be bigger than Seymour was.

You are correct. I heard that he was an elite gunner or something along those lines. Versatility will get him on this team.

I'd say so. Don't get me wrong, I like Sander's potential and he's filling the shoes of Ed Oliver instead of DaQuan (who I like but is a journeyman at the end of his career for a reason) but at this point I think Walker is more starter ready.
