SEPT. 28: Around the NFL, other games.

That double digit win is pretty deceiving. The Bills took care of business but there are some concerns especially on the defense. The Bills are 4-0 and you get do any better in the win column. That's the number one stat. However, I can't help but think how much better can the team be or get. They certainly aren't winning in dominant or impressive fashion. Then again, what team in the AFC (right now) really looks better than the Bills? We fans including myself often never seem to be satisfied. Let's really enjoy the 4-0 record and appreciate this team is winning despite playing it's best football. That means a lot. Also, the time to peak and hit your full stride isn't now. Hopefully, the team will gel and be at its peak come December and January. Go Bills 4-0!!!! -
It should go without saying that 10 men on the defense is an execution issue by a player or lower level coach, right?

yeah, today for some reason I thought guys were slipping a lot. Off the top of my head, I remember both Palmer and Samuel slipping on routes, bishop slipping in coverage, the saints TE awkwardly slipping out of bounds, and even the Tre 4th down tackle on Kamara seemed To be kamara slipping. just seemed really unusual for such a nice day. -
Yeah I felt that in the moment too. But 3rd and 4th and 1, the o-line didnt hold up. That trick play needed to be the third down call and then you let Josh roll out on 4th down. That little pass/hand off to Shakir was similar to what Penn State ran to tie Oregon Saturday night. Very nice design. Terrible execution

I know this thread is about Cook and so far he's the engine of the offense this young season. What I'm worried about is both Davis and Ty Johnson being so ineffective that something may have to be done if they don't pickup their play. Just look across the field, even for the Saints they have 3 RBs each can make some plays.

Ravens vs Chiefs Game thread (the Bills lamp is lit)

I’m not going to crown the Chiefs either. The Ravens play small in big games, with all the injuries, the Ravens could be in big trouble especially if Jackson’s hamstring holds him out and lingers the season. They are so reliant on Jackson’s legs being a threat when you take that away and his ability to extend plays the offense won’t be the same. The Texans will be interesting because they aren’t very good but the Texans o line will be facing a Ravens pass rush that isn’t good to begin with and now these injuries make them really bad. Toss in Jackson being compromised or out and the Ravens could be looking at 1-4 -
Where and when do I find out who sits on game day?
Big Turk replied to Jistafan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Haha, I pace up and down the hall into the living room all game...usually end up with about 18K steps from it 🤣 Still slightly lower than normal during the week but pretty good for an off day -

It’s a good thing the defense looks nothing like the Ravens defense-theirs is one of the worst in the league! -

Don't care what it looks like, Ravens and their fans are ass! -
The Saints also showed them something they hadn't seen and weren't ready for. That was about to be a successful 2pt conversion if he doesn't call it.
-
That series where they ran four consecutive times and turned it over on 4th down, during a crucial point of the game, just cannot happen with Josh Allen at QB. And Joe Brady needs to be explicitly told it cannot happen.
-
Slow for sure, but all the missed tackles worries me the most. The runners especially just bust through arm tackles left and right. Cook and Allen bailed the team out this week.

No one in that building from the front office to the players should be anything but humble and hungry. Beane needs to start figuring out how and where to improve. 3 of our wins are against teams that are a combined 0-10. Now 3 of those losses are against us. The Jets and Dolphins could easily have at least 1 win. In Week 9 it starts to get real with KC. The back half is not some cake walk. At Pitt. At Cle. At NE will not be easy. Tampa will be tough. Philly. The defense we’re currently playing is capable of costing us 3-4 of those games. Im glad it’s not peaking. I think it will get better. But it does need an addition. -
The colts trotted out the vaunted 10 man defense against the Rams today for the final touchdown.
-
…and had to be taken because his team only had 10 men on the field in a crucial situation. Did I miss the announcement of Wrex Ryan appreciation day or something?
-
He can't play defense Its hard to argue the 30+ a game isn't working, but Josh looks handcuffed in these game plans. Last year the pass set up the run. This year they are trying so hard to use the run first. And everybody eats is costing the Bills feeding the ball to our best playmakers in Shakir and Kincaid. Coleman should be 3rd in targets well behind those two. Pats won with Gronk and either Edelman or Welker getting the majority of the targets.

Currrently there are only 4 teams scoring an average of 30 or more points/game (in 2025): Detroit: 34.25 Buffalo: 33.25 Baltimore: 33.25 Indianapolis: 30.75 In 2024, only 3 teams averaged 30 or more points/game: Detroit, Buffalo, Baltimore. In 2023, only one team averaged 30 or above: Dallas. In 2022, No teams averaged 30 or more points per game. In 2021, only one team averaged 30 or above: Dallas. In 2020, only two teams averaged 30 or more: Green Bay and Tampa Bay. So, over the last 6 years, only 11 teams averaged 30 or more points per game. With 32 teams over 6 years, that means only 11 teams of a possible 192 teams accomplished that feat (or it only happened 5.73% of the time over the last 6 years---and that is if all four 2025 teams can maintain that rate for the rest of the year). It may not be remarkable to score 30 points in an individual game, but to do it on a consistent basis is actually quite a feat. Since 2020 (5-1/4 years), the Bills have averaged 29.64 points per game. Since Brady took over OC, we have averaged 29.97 points/game.

I think Jonathan Taylor is the best bet, partially because the Colts need to ride his high usage whereas the Bills could find themselves spreading the ball around more in blowouts or at the end of the season. Puka is a candidate too since Stafford is giving him the full Kupp treatment. Also something of an injury concern as he fully embraces contact. Then there’s Bijan Robinson who is an all purpose yards master on an offense that can sputter. I’d put Cook at third most likely.

I think it's always been middle of road field Not bottom five, not top five... Just squarely in the middle and occasionally some people are slipping But our team practices and plays there enough that they should know the correct spikes for the cleats to mitigate it the best
