Yup, the defense is atrocious and is 1000% worse in the playoffs and yet the McD excuse making apologists skate on by and seemingly only want to focus on the offense or hiccups by Josh if he wasn't PERFECT on a play. Yeah, there is absolutely something wrong with that. WTF!
-
Something very funny to me that Brady gets so much crap for coordinating a top 5 offense with horrific weapons, and the defense just keeps skating by lol.

When multiple opposing players state after a game that they knew exactly what was coming, that’s a problem with the OC. When an opposing coach admits he was shocked at the lack of protection given our QB, that’s a problem with the OC. When an older WR comes off an ACL and has a phenomenal year and we couldn’t or wouldn’t get him involved while he was healthy, thats a problem with the OC. There’s a pattern here.

I think that's the most healthy attitude when it comes to Cooks, especially in our "everyone eats" philosophy. Maybe a dozen catches, 200 yards and a TD or two would be realistic IMO. They key will be when those plays come. Last season Amari Cooper didn't make big plays week in and week out. Heck, there were a few weeks I forgot he was on the team. But he made plays in some key moments. That's what we need out of Cooks. A few key grabs at the right time and it's a successful signing IMO.

The Bills are 5th in points and 3rd in yards with literal garbage cast offs at WR. Is the expectation for Brady to command the best offense in the NFL with Brandin Cooks as a starter?
-
It takes our pathetic defense about 2.5 quarters to figure out how to stop the run. In the meantime they get bullied and put the team in a hole field position wise and on the scoreboard. I expect these guys to get completely run over today and then mope around in the second half. Last week houston repeatedly missed wide open wr and I don't think that will happen today. Today kind of feels like the day the season falls apart to me. I really hope I am wrong.

Banged up Bills Website: All Injuries all the Time

It’s not just the injuries to key players. It’s the lack of gameplanning taking into account those injuries on both offense and D. If we just protect with 5 men with no chipping when we have 2 starting OTs out, Brady shouldn’t get back on the plane. We need a gameplan that emphasizes Josh getting rid of the ball quickly, which he’s been very reluctant to do this year. That doesn’t mean spamming mesh 6 straight times while our tackles get smoked and Josh gets battered. How about some RB screens? How about a draw or 2? Quick slant? You know, Football 101 basic crap to slow down a pass rush. Is that too much to ask? -
While I understand the effort, I’m like 99% sure Cooks is done in the NFL. Theres little downside to bringing him in, but I’m not really expecting anything.

Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion.....I hope he is on the Bills radar.

versatile guys all along the line. No one who is good at anything just average at a bunch of things. That’s how you do it. -
The thing is, as much as he needed an attitude adjustment, I am just not sure the physical talent and killer mentality are in there. A fire under his butt isn't going to make him run any faster, improve his footwork and route running, or be able to create separation at the top of routes either through deception or physicality. A lot of that stuff you either have in you or you don't. And until he can prove to get any type of separation down the field with consistency, teams aren't going to respect him and I haven't seen anything to this point that's encouraging outside of a couple great jump ball catches (and even then, he's been worse at contested catches than he was projected to be as well). He couldn't do this stuff in college and the NFL is just an entirely different level. Didn't see it then, don't see it now. But man, we really could use him to be serviceable at least. We'd all love him to turn into Anquan Boldin overnight, but it's more than between the ears, focus, and not missing meetings to get there.

I have a theory that Joe Brady falls in a rather unique coaching paradox. Both paths I see result in him not being here next season. The first option is things remain the same the rest of this season and possibly playoffs. We make an early exit and he is replaced in the off season. The second option is he gets things fixed. The Bills hit the playoffs red hot on offense and go deep in the playoffs. He would then likely be a hot commodity as a HC and likely cash in. The line between genius and madness is often razor thin. We may not know if he is the problem. But the more prudent question to ask may be...is he the solution? If not, we need to move on.

the bet i put on the offseason was bills/rams.

Agreed…only with the might.

If the Patriots make it to the Super Bowl I think that might actually be even worse than if the Chiefs went back again

Will they? You don’t think this team will have injuries today and the rest of the year? Injuries have been the only consistent performer for the Bills this season.
