While I agree that a downfield passing attack would be nice, unfortunately, we do not, currently, have the personnel for it.

For all you McDermott haters, who would you want? (Now a poll)

So it’s McDs fault Allen threw the INT? It’s McDs fault Allen and Knox fumbled a snap? I guess McD made Keon fumble too? We either lost points or gave up points on all 3 turnovers in a game we lost by 3. We literally win by 2-3 scores if we just don’t commit 2 of them. You have 2 choices - you can blame the person whose fault it’s not just because it fits an agenda or we can stay grounded in reality about the real reason we lost, which was 3 individual mistakes. And hate to break it to you, when you lose the turnover battle 3-1 you most often lose. This isn’t about defending McD, this is about the reality of why we actually lost as opposed to just firing the person who actually had nothing to do with it. Blaming McD for this loss is like blaming your golf clubs for why you shot 110. Does it mean McD gets a free pass - no - but it’s pretty silly to put all the blame on him where the players made 3 very critical individual mistakes. -
I don't know if this is just by Brady's offensive design or if the receivers are all just that bad or what, but we need to be able to pass the ball downfield. Dink and dunk is fine. It also has to be part of our arsenal. It can't be the entire gameplan though. A downfield pass game opens that stuff up more. We have a QB with the biggest cannon in the NFL and we don't even use it anymore. I know people will say that we just don't have any receivers capable of it. I don't really believe that. I see no names all the time catch downfield balls. If it's true then it's true. If thats the case then I as much as I hate to say it... we need Gabe Davis back on the active roster. I don't trust his hands, but the dude has made downfield plays for us. It needs to be part of our arsenal. We aren't going to dink and dunk our way to a superbowl. It takes too much precision and leaves no room for mistakes. Hell, I think this Pats game was the first time I seen Brady take a shot on 2nd and 1 instead of just running the ball to pick up the first down. I been banging the table about that since last year.

Welcome to the WWE-era of NFL football. Enjoy the stories, athleticism, and entertainment, but do not expect fair, competitive sport (at least not consistently)...you'll be much happier that way.

Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)

Not good, but I’m not expecting Hairston to be any better at this juncture. -
This will be another “tougher than expected game” for the Bills…Gotta have our “A” game this week.

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse

Great job Beane… When you acquire a pro bowl caliber player with maturity issues, you can deal with it because his play makes up for it. But when you acquire a slow, mediocre WR, that can’t separate, and has maturity issues, then it could become a nuisance… -
The Upcoming Trade Deadline: 2025 Edition

They ain't parting with both. I dunno how that'd work unless they wanted someone sent back. And nobody say "Samuel" lol dude has 280yds and 2 tds in a Bills jersey @ $10M. If somebody takes Samuel well be pitching in extra draft capital to absorb bad cash.... and most certainly wont be the saints Where you hearing thst though? Anywhere credible or message board fodder lol id love it and it makes sense just havent seen it anywhere at all -
Far too early to say if he will be a great QB or not. He had terrible coaching last year and is getting good coaching this year. He certainly has the physical traits you want. Now, it's about reading defenses better and the mental side of things.

This was a stupid nostalgia signing by Beane. -
We should be disagreeing with those Super Bowl odds. Weren't we the favorites last season? Near dead last at stopping the run. And we're the SB favorites? We shall see. At the end of this season, if we get the number 1 AFC seed, and Josh Allen put up great numbers, he will get his 2nd NFL MVP. We have to remember that our defense has injuries and washed up players who don't belong on the field. Also, a head coach who absolutely doesn't know how to coach defense and he's supposed to be a defensive specialist. LOL

I cannot believe that some people are saying he didn't have a great game. What game were you watching? He had zero turnovers to Josh's two. He made several completions when he was dead to rites. Josh had none of note. Sure, he had Diggs to bail him out but Josh had Kincaid almost as often. That's almost a wash. The AFC East challenge flag has now been thrown. I'm not swapping Josh for anyone but the reality is - this guy is legit, he is here to stay and he will become elite in due course. And you can add a tariff to that whenever he comes up against our soft defense. After two decades of TB12, yesterday was a Bills fans worst nightmare.

We basically screwed ourselves for the next several years, at WR, because of drafting Coleman, who will never be a #1, and then signing a backup, in Palmer, to a multi year deal, TO BE OUR STARTER… FAIL
-
If the Bills and Eagles were to play in the SB next week, 9/10 pundits would choose Philly. Bills have the better QB. But otherwise...not much else. As for MVP RIGHT NOW...I would go with Mayfield. TB has been injured and he is pulling out wins left and right.

Even if he is well, I am not confident that he will be effective… In the little bit of practice he actually did have, Hairston looked lost. -

So sorry, bro. It's been six for me in my years and it's the worst. I lost my previous boy at just shy of 14 in Nov 2023. It crushed me. I'm on the autism spectrum and I don't really connect with people easily and I'm always going to need a dog for companionship and to help my mood. I was just crying so much for a month and then half-heartedly looked on the petfinder and saw a goldendoodle who had a rough start in life at a humane society branch nearby and I hemmed and hawed for a day or two but I did an application that fell through at first (he was placed with another couple, and a week later they returned him bc their existing dog was being very territorial. Upon getting Ace back, they contacted me. And I picked him up on the 9-year anniversary of my mum's passing from a difficult cancer. Was thinking and praying to her the whole time hoping the new dog would like me. And... it put a little bit of light back into that very sad day on the calendar). And it's not that I loved my Ruff the less. It's just... there are LOTS of GREAT dogs out there who need good homes and... for everyone in this thread... you have good homes and love to share. Ace has really helped in the healing journey and he is the goodest boy. And the thing is, this will happen again until it's my own time to cross the bridge and meet them all. And my heart will break again. But.... -

Im a professional sports handicapper I know what they mean. Right now at this moment the Books have Buffalo favored to win the Super Bowl. They can lose there next couple of games and their odds will drop a lot. I’m completely aware of what they are. I was just posting them for information. Nothing more.

Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
Mister Defense replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup on your last point. But cannot have a player at that position, period, who makes a good play HALF of the time. After the Miami game I said basically what you are saying about that, but with the understanding that that is why he should never again play corner for the Bills. Just think of the repercussions at THAT position. He is a sitting duck, as a cornerback with that lack of consistency would give one big, vital play after another--or, every other play. If you were a QB and there is an important play to make, for a third down, or to score, who would you target? I know that Tre White would be my man, and that is what we are seeing now, over and over. It will get even worse now as there is so much tape on how disarmingly poor White is now. Can't have that, not if you hope to be a contender. I will say it again--they need to get players right now in there who can cover NFL wide receivers consistently. No matter what it takes, including player for player swaps, trades for draft picks, off of practice squads--need players who at least have the ability, the potential, to cover NFL wide receivers, as Tre White clearly does not. It may be a roll of the dice, but they made a mistake of rolling the dice with a player who clearly did not look like an NFL corner last year and rolled snake eyes as a result. Now they need to take much more intelligent chances, rather then ignoring the facts, such as what was so clear to anyone watching White last year.
