Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
BADOLBILZ replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep if you Billieve so strongly in the Bills WR's why are you even in the thread? When I see a topic I think is BS or don't have an opinion on I don't even think of opening it. I don't go in just to exclaim that fans are just so negative or imply that there is an ulterior motive for their opinion outside of wanting a better football product put on the field. 😂 It's just idiotic. Our all time homer/fan-shamer on TSW really exposed it all one time when he drunk posted from a bar whining pathetically about why do the Bills hurt him so much? What did he do to deserve this? Then he sobered up and went right back to bashing fans for having any expectations. They can't put the failure on the organization. That would be treason. They can't process that it's ultimately just a product created by a multi-billion dollar entertainment industry. Instead they turn their frustration on the fans. -
Bills Offseason moves to date & Projected Roster
Rocky Landing replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure why everyone keeps mistaking Lewis for a safety, when he plays far more at CB, where he was drafted. Be that as it may, we'd all love to have starter-level players at every position, but that will never happen. And while Lewis is not a particularly great DB, he is a difference maker on ST. Why would you expect new STC Chris Tabor throw the baby out with the bathwater? This discussion happens every season. The Bills will have backup level players on the team, and the traits that earn them a roster spot are versatility, position flexibility, and special teams. It's the reason Reggie Gilliam is on the team. It's why Q Morris, Siran Neal, Taiwan Jones, to name a few, were on the team, and it's why they keep bringing Cam Lewis back. -

Because it backs the defense off to make the throws Josh does like easier. Im not sure Palmer is the deep threat you make out. He can do it but he is more of an intermediate route runner a la Diggs than a dynamic deep guy. -
The China thing is not even a question for me. I remember one trip sitting next to a Silicon Valley guy who was a CEO of a solar cell company. He relayed to me the issue of dealing with them. His company had developed a new technology for solar panels and was going to produce them in the area of China that does that. There is a Chinese gov requirement to submit product information to their gov once a certain level is reached, and they did. He said that two months after this submission, a Chinese factory opened less than a mile from where they were going to build, producing the exact same panels. No sympathy from me, and I could relay five stories more in addition. They are crooks who have been stealing and exploiting US and other western industry for years.

My sister saw both the Beatles and the Stones very close together back then. I just remember her and her friends running up and down the street practicing their screaming before the Beatles concert. She said you couldn’t hear a damn thing from the Beatles at the concert. Shocking! 😂 Her husband was at Woodstock, and they have some great stories to tell.

Totally fair. I just reacted with a shrug because it's not a departure from his personality.

We’ve had some really good writers covering the Bills over the years. Gauguin was one of them. To me Felser will always be the best followed closely by Carrucci, but very much enjoyed Gaughin’s work. -
Dumbest trade the Bills ever made.

You will have as much as you need and not as much as you desire, so that others may have more someday as manufacturing jobs return. The new Mr. Ten-Year Plan. -
What channel is it on? I didn't see it listed on ESPN +

Lamonica sighting! Still wonder what it would have been like to have kept him. BTW the Beatles played at the Jets' stadium just a few months prior to that game.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

I love having great debates with my fellow fans here. I do not agree with being exclusively negative just to be negative, and changing topics from that of the original thread to do so. Hence my reaction herein. This thread is about WRs. We lost Cooper and Hollins. We gained Palmer and Moore. I don’t see that as a step back, although I would have loved to have seen Hollis stay. I believe Brady’s offense truly is set up for the Everyman eat’s philosophy, hence the outstanding performance on offense last year. I do think Coleman was having a decent rookie year before his wrist, and he did not do well on his return. He has been challenged by management and I see him improving. I am not one to assume a player cannot improve with more experience in the league. while the thread is about WRs, I think you have to also look at all receivers to evaluate the potential for the passing game. I feel similarly about Kincaid as I do Coleman. I don’t slam a guy for performance dropping off because of injuries. He has been challenged to get tougher and I think he will. I also think we tend to discount the role of our RBs in the passing game. So I am not terribly concerned about the receivers as it stands. And if Beane decides to trade a pick or two to get say a Pickens, I don’t see that as him admitting failure; I see it as him doing his job to try to continually improve his roster. -

What is your favorite totally random Bills game?
NastyNateSoldiers replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I was in attendance for this one great game. I believe the Dolphins started the game hot with a 2 score lead before we came back and blew them out. 1994 Bills vs Fins 42-31 Bills Sunday night football in Miami. One play that stands out in particular in that game was Andre Reed scoring a 83yd TD in the 4th quarter where he turns around at around the 30 yd line and taunts the Dolphins players as he's running backwards into the endzone. I was in attendance for this one and that TD happened on my side of the field. 1989 Bills vs Oilers 47-41 OT thriller - Kelly vs Moon One of the greatest games I ever watched also was the game CB Derrick Burroughs injured his neck and never played again in the NFL. 1997 Bills vs Dolphins 2002 Bills vs Vikings 45-39 Bills win in OT . Bledsoe vs Culpepper. Crazy back and forth game Eric Moulds and Peerless went off that day. I was at this game to wasn't this the game Kurt Schultz destroyed Rob Konrad on a screen pass ? I will never forget that hit right in front of me at around the 25yd line of the Dolphins. -

What I think you discount is the importance of being clutch on offense. Allen and the offense have choked in the clutch with victory in sight in 3 of 4 chances against Houston and KC. I really couldn't care less about counting points allowed against the Chiefs anymore. The games were eminently winnable. Bills fans are just myopic on the topic. The Kansas City defense averages allowing just over 30 points per game in the SB with Mahomes. But has won 3 of 5 because they've produced in the clutch offensively. Tyreek came up huge the first one. Kelce has been surreal in the clutch over and over. His playoff numbers are unreal. Worthy tore the Bills up in the AFCCG. Meanwhile........Allen has had the vanishing choke artist Diggs and a bunch of forgettable nobodies. The one game where Allen looked clutch at the end was when a receiver put up a 200 yard game. -

As a Catholic, I was not offended. As an American, I was offended. You are The President of the United States. A 79 year old self-declared leader of the world (no longer "the free world" apparently). Grow up. -

And when there was a job called "editor," which meant someone was proofreading the story before it was printed/posted. I really like The Athletic, which is better than most, but some of the sloppy hot take stuff they put out there is pretty embarrassing. -
Thanks, that brought back a lot of memories. I don’t think I was at that game, but what an enormous experience game day was for this young kid. It’s interesting, but the scenes from outside the stadium seem to strike a chord even more than the stuff inside the stadium. Walking up to those gates felt like the Roman Colosseum to me. On a trip back a few years ago a buddy took me by the still standing gates. Like so many things from your youth, it’s not quite what you remember, but it’s still special.
