You really have to hand it to HRC--in spite of years of embarrassment at the hands of her husband, the deaths under mysterious circumstances of some friends and associates, vast right wing conspiracies, bimbo eruptions, the apparent spontaneous and occasional loss of the use of her arms and legs while on the campaign trail, the heartache that comes with being labelled as careless and reckless with national secrets by her friends, and everything else she dealt with, she always managed to position herself as an utterly unlikable and completely unsympathetic figure.

I went to last two practices, and one thing that was kind of strange was tues was way more physical a practice but they seemed to be letting almost all contact go - for a while it seemed the refs were there as props just for the ambiance. Today was way less energy and physicality and they threw way more flags. Not sure if there are different crews and they call it different, if they decide beforehand to have the refs call a certain way etc.. I said in the tues camp thread that it was definitely the most physical i ever saw Tre - he was really going after guys in coverage.

When can we start to freak out about Spencer Brown?
Mikie2times replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm glad Spencer participated in the tug-of-war competition where you could literally see players vertebra splinter in the right lighting. -
Worth that to Washington and Daniel’s, sure. Definitely not to Buffalo and Josh.

Absolutely !

Terry is great, but he is arguably more in the middle tier of #1's vs the top 5-10. If he gets 30 million plus, now he is in the top 10 if not higher and will turn 30 this year. To me, it's not a no brainer. They should do it, but I understand why it's not a done deal. Hell, Terry could be looking for 32-35, which would be Top 3. Similar to the Cook situation IMO where they both might want the deal done, but the money / circumstances are just making it a bit outside the comfort zone of one or both.
-
Thanks for that one. Just perfect, in so many ways!
-
He is a wr so give up 5 number ones and give him a lifetime contract at 25 million a year.
-
We're still waiting for that Miles Garret trade request to work out for Buffalo...... likely that this trade request will end up the same way.

Statistically meaningless comparisons. 2020 Steelers? Since 2016, Tomlin has turned into the worst playoff coach in the NFL. They are 0-5 the past 9 seasons, with one and dones in 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024. The 2020 season isn't a meaningful data point for your purposes. 2006 Colts? They had one and done postseasons not just in 2007--under Dungy, despite HOF talent all over the field, exited without a win in 2002, 2005, 2008 as well. No HC in history squandered a more talented roster in the postseason

It’s the hardest part

I agree it would be truely stupid, but the way they have handled this so far has demonstrated that very thing. This is their best player for years, one who has suffered through the ineptitude of this team for years without complaint, and they are treating him like some low level cafeteria employee. I expected better from the new ownership but he is proving to be every bit as big an ####### as Dan Snyder. I think it is a fantasy, but scary Terry on the Bills absolutely puts them over the top. There is little I would not give up to make that happen, including any receiver on the roster plus a high draft choice. Win now.

Totally agree. Both will be 30 this year, both have been extremely productive for multiple years. In the open market both would get double what they will be paid this year. This is the last big multi year pay day for both and both stand to lose 50 million+ over multiple years if they get seriously hurt. You really can't or shouldn't be blaming these guys. A lot of times sure, they will take the team friendly deal as Beane has done so many times, but it's not just because of the team. Its more about the risk of injury. The concept of team is a factor but it's a sliding scale and takes a huge second to self interests.

When can we start to freak out about Spencer Brown?

He has played 33 of the last 34 games. -
Training camp a rainy July 31 2025 day

I think it really depends on the style of defense. To your point Wilfork was 6'2 325, Casey Hampton was 6'1 325. Then again, Ted Washington was 6'5 325. For linemen in general I think its advantageous for guys with longer arms to play on the edge, and for more stout players to play inside. My concern is when I hear about a guy who is really tall the 6'7s the 6'8s or 6'9s with pre-existing back problems. -
Absolutely ridiculous they haven't paid him already. Guy has been there his entire career, wants to stay, has put up 900 + yards every single year despite terrible QB play. Pay the man.

Report: Terry McLaurin requests trade
Kirby Jackson replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s making a fraction of his market value. The same goes for Hendrickson. I left my job in June because I thought I was making about 80% of my market value. McLaurin is making maybe 65% of his. We need to stop pretending “quality of team” is a lead factor on a player’s decision making in 2025. It is A factor but nowhere near as big of a factor as guaranteed money and total contract. People long for yesteryear when guys wanted to play for a winner. Sure a guy may play for a winner for $1M instead of a loser for $1.1M but when you’re talking about $22M vs. $33M that’s WAY more of a factor. Can we all agree to not begrudge guys for wanting to make market value? That’s what every single one of us does. I’m not getting my hopes up but if I’m Beane, I already have an offer on the table (with room to add more if a trade is possible). It would be the old Mario Williams “don’t let him leave the building” approach. I just don’t think that he’s going anywhere.
