I have been critical of many of Beane's picks (Coleman and Elam especially), but one counterpoint - drafting last or near it for six straight years makes it hard to stay on top. The Texans got 50 draft picks for Watson, they should have some players.

When you have arguably the most physically gifted qb to ever play the game, that is mediocrity I know he wasn’t popular, but I can’t imagine what a good offensive mind like Chan gailey would do if he had this qb!

I get that perspective and am hopeful something drastic happens but I don’t think it will. Since the Pegulas took ownership and hired beane as GM the value of the bills has, something like, doubled.

The players like him as a guy, but they other tahn zJsoh and Cook, I don't think they are motivated by him to excel. Perfect example is Coleman--why on earth would a guy like that, with everyone expecting him to take the next step, would he need to be a healthy scratch multiple times for behavioral issues? Why would it happen even once?? These guys are not inspired by McD, clearly they don't fear him as a leader. I think he's losing the locker room. He's gotta go.

I don't think he is too soft, but I do think he prefers to be "one of the guys" and that is his style of leadership. That is great and it can/does work for a while. But I think ultimately a 30 year old tier 1A QB in the NFL has to really embrace being "The Guy". If you want a guy like Flacco then you can have Ray Lewis be the last guy out of the tunnel for every home game. When you have a guy like Brady, Brady is the last one out of the tunnel every home game. This is a metaphor not a literal directive, but that is the personality of a tier 1A, 30+ year old starting QB in the NFL. It doesn't mean he fails, but it should be part of his evolution.

The crazy part about this is, if they followed more than a few posters on here as far as draft advice goes, we would be in a much better situation right now. I’m not saying that for myself, but quite a few posters. That’s really sad truthfully. So kudos to you guys.
