Counting on Shakir to improve is a recipe for disaster IMO. He is small and they throw to him right in the teeth of the defense - he takes an absolute beating and he'll be lucky at this rate to survive another 2-3 years without major injuries taking their toll. (FTR I would say the same thing about Nacua, who is not small but plays with a violence that is simply not sustainable.)

Coming out of college he was labeled a ball catching back that may contribute to the run game. He was never labeled a 3down back and deemed a change of pace runner and pass catcher. He's grown and our offense fits him well.

He's very good at catching the ball. Folks just focus on his couple of sure-TD drops from 2-3 years ago instead of all the good catches he has made. But everyone has drops, even the greatest of WRs. He caught the ball a bunch at UGA, and it was one of his features when coming into the pros. He's done it well for us too. This Dallas game from 2023 is the perfect example. He had a banner day, it was a coming out party. This is basically a James Cook highlight reel. He makes a couple of great catches (3:30), and even catches one for a TD (3:50). But late in the game, up big 21-3 thanks to Cook, he drops a sure TD (8:20) and it's all people remember... Also I love posting this because its a fun video for Bills fans.

I guess when I see "perennial contender" I think of a team that has a reasonable chance to compete for a Super Bowl. That was not the 2017 Bills. That was not the 2021 Patriots. That was not the 2019-2025 Steelers. The window for perennial contender is opened by a QB, not a head coach. Which is why despite McD/Tomlin and the greatest coach of all time, those teams weren't serious. The reason the Bills have a reasonable chance to compete for a Super Bowl, every year, since 2020, is because of the guy wearing 17. Give McD Mac Jones and semi-retired Cam Newton, and he can make some 8-9 win magic and get blown out in the WC round every once in a while for sure. Woo hoo.

I hear you Virg, the Fins and Falcon loses were vomit worthy, but the Pats and Texs loses I can kinda stomach. Even in most of our wins, we have not played complete games. During the SB years, fans became disgruntled with similar performances. Still hard to believe that those teams didn’t win one with all those stars. this just isn't big news that's why. i don't see any larger discussion on trump's health other than here, hence the large outlets not really being into it. i mean eric daugherty tweets out winning every time trump farts. i'm judging the behavior of trump now because he's our president. the extreme left is absolutely no better, which is why i choose not to take sides. it's just dumb to me and stop politics from working. there's crazies on both sides...it's just a reality, but neither extreme should be running the show, but here we are. i'm not blaming trump for this as it has been years in the making. but i do blame trump for allowing this to become worse.
