Then why do you keep brining up their previous yardage as support for your argument that teams overpaid them? One of us realizes that teams properly evaluated those players and paid them accordingly. Obviously their performances with their new teams supports that.

Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic shared some insight on the disconnect between Stewart's camp and the Bengals. "And, for reference, have offered the exact language of the pick before (Walter Nolen) and after (Grey Zabel). But the language being proposed for this specific clause is common across the NFL." Now it appears that Stewart's agency denies that it's the same. So, as usual, media reporting is a jumbled mess. But the idea and practice of such language is certainly nothing new. Many teams use it. No one said they just looked at yardage. what we both know they didn’t look at is what they did AFTER they signed the contract. Same thing with Ridley.

Wow. This is pretty rudimentary stuff. I’m surprised to see you have so much trouble with it. You have a terrible misunderstanding of how NFL scouting works if you think pro personnel scouts simply look a WR’s previous yardage totals to determine their value. They look at film to determine how well that player is doing their job, independent of how those around them perform. They saw that Mooney, for example, was performing well even though his QB wasn’t and the offense he was in was a joke. So they paid him like a 1k WR - and lo and behold - that what he turned out to be for them in their offense.

I see nothing wrong with this. As long as the reasons for “default” are clearly defined within the contract, it’s fine. These players shouldn’t be committing crimes (or the perception of) and expect to get paid. Anyone else wouldn’t.

I think i feel bad for anyone with a mental illness so I guess yes I feel bad for him.... but I feel worse for his kids the people he comes into contract with and society in general as long as his is out there being an idiot.
