Giants, Daboll and Skattebo - fined avoid suspension
NoSaint replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think this is the “is he ok” punishment, not the “you better clear him to play immediately or else” punishment this one is acknowledging the red line around the optics not that he was bullying doctors -
It’s not goalpost moving any more than your post. You have to look at the position players play. Football isn’t like the other sports. Players play completely different positions, and they rarely change. And, a lot depends on how strong the need is by the 32 NFL teams that particular year, and by how strong the Class of rookies was at that position that particular year. So yes, while a player may have been taken 170th in the overall draft order, he may have been the third or fourth best safety in the nation that year. (I’m not saying that was the case here, but the point still applies.) I hope that clarifies my earlier post.

Meh. It was a mistake in the heat of the moment they'll learn from it, which is good, and hopefully it won't happen again. I think fines were appropriate in this case. A second offense would definitely warrant suspensions and draft picks -
He was replacement level last year too.

I’ve said it here a million times. The last 4 years our offense has been championship caliber. Our defense has literally kept us from a championship because they don’t show up in big games and we get gashed by good running backs. How long until McDermott is called to the carpet and held accountable? Oh that’s right he won’t because his buddy is the GM and the owner doesn’t have a friggin clue about football. We are wasting a once in a lifetime QB’s window with bull crap defense with a scheme the current players cannot run. it is so frustrating to watch this shyt every $&@!ing year.

Is it just me, or after a two game losing streak against pretty mediocre teams, and 36 or so hours before a road game, maybe I'd rather he wasn't at the World Series? -
Max Hairston to return to practice from IR
Andrew Son replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
If he was this close to being able to play this week they would have opened his practice window weeks ago. I'll be absolutely shocked if he plays. -

he’ll be in there quick but you do have to make sure he at least has a chance if you know he’s not ready to play nfl football you need to wait -

If it’s any other team, the guy goes in as soon as he is healthy. No other team does this. The game day inactives are a big thing every week because we will just undressed important people for absolutely no reason. It’s been the entire McDermott tenure. I don’t understand why he does it. The guy is a first round pick. We are TERRIBLE on defense. It’s cornerback. The position on the field with the least amount of thought….If the guy can play, put him in. Day 0. The literal second he isn’t in pain. You are in and you are starting. It’s truly that simple. 31 other teams wouldn’t even have to answer the question. Why are high picks not even able to get on the field for this dude? Something is wrong. -
Beane and McD get 10 times the heat from other city radio stations than our own. WGR: Morning show - We won’t talk about it because the owner isnt going to fire them anyway Sal show - Condescendingly, “well who you going to replace him with!” Pompously, “everyone just wants to fire the coach.” Afternoon show - Literal meltdowns this week by Bulldog screaming “WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT FIRING THE COACH!!!!!!” I have to give credit to Beane and McD because they do have local media/podcasters totally inline and controlled. Imagine what WFAN would have done if Beane went on their station and pulled his little WR stunt. Imagine if McD went on a weekly radio hit in Philly and said absolutely nothing. Just spewing boring coach word salad crap like “fundamentals, complimentary football” just saying “we will see?” to everything.

Again, what are you even talking about? Walker is a starter. Hawes plays a lot. Sanders played a lot until he was hurt. Strong played until he was hurt and if he wasn't he'd be most likely starting at this point. Same with Hairston. Only guys they don't play are Jackson who is deep in depth chart and Hancock. And they play rookies every year. You make no sense.
-
Not to mention that saying that having 2nd year 2nd round pick as your starter is "complete failure" on team building is just silly. You may not like the player but it's not team building failure. Yeah but when you try criticize everyone and everything you don't care.

Here's a question that might deserve its own thread: What do you think Reid would do with the Bills offensive personnel? I'm assuming he could do a superior job to Brady, who I'm beginning to think is a one-trick pony ("Let's run!"), but I'm not sure how. - Today
