I gave up on this idea fully after the 2025 Draft where the Bills could have Drafted Dont'e Thornton anywhere before #108 overall to come in and do exactly that as a roll player and passed... I just do not think they are interested in adding that element to this Offense.

I still think folks are being too hard on Keon. There's just a huge fandemonium hot take need for instant gratification these days. That and instant hot take overreaction. Its rampant and rife and a product of this new internet cycle. I hate it. I'm going to say it again - folks on WGR discussed what they would see as a huge improvement for Keon this year, and the consensus was 60-70 catches and 5-10 TDs. He's still tracking for that kind of season, and yes I know the 8 catch game one helps him. We will see. Once more I'll point out the Moulds learning curve. Andre Reed took 4 years to get over 60 grabs. A few others as well. It sometimes takes 2-3 years for WRs to develop. Year 3 or 4 were also huge jumps for Lee Evans and Peerless Price. He's clearly limited and needs to work on several areas, but there is also a pop and tenacity about him that comes out that really has me hopeful.

Mcd has daboll, who might somehow keep his job at nyg this sesaon. if brady goes to pen st, i don't think you'd be able to include him unless he returns to the nfl. just like no one views the OCs who have come out of ried's staff lately as hot prospects because they see the O as really belonging to andy, i think you'll get the same thing on the d side of the ball for mcd. given how no good coaches come out of buffalo, and outside of wyatt teller no good players have come out of buffalo (maybe settle too, but he was a player elsewhere, and kinda sorta not really puna ford and diggs), either mcd is a figgen genius or josh, dawkins, and a couple other guys have just been good enough to get by and almost get there. given how consistent our problems on D have been vs good coaches (basically either kc walks all over us in the playoffs, or other teams like indy w rivers, cincy in 2022) or LITERALLY EVERY TEAM WITH AN ELITE BACK AND PLUS QB and that allen is one of one with his touchdown producing magic, i tend to think mcd is not a genius and allen has literally saved this crap front office for years. it's also the consensus opinion of outspoken nfl analysts and handy cappers. we are strong favorites in the majority of our games, and at most like 3 point under dogs vs the absolute best. if allen didn't play i don't think we'd be favored over most teams save the raiders and the jets.

I do think the D will figure things out as they infuse some new guys into the mix. I don't think they will be the consistent pushovers they have been. I also believe the Bills O line is too good to be this mediocre. They've downright struggled for chunks of games. The receivers are what they are, and injuries aren't helping. At least get open on the short routes and make themselves available. Josh sounds like he's going to get back to hyping up the guys and at least trying to have fun. I think he gets into his own head a bit when things go wrong...he gets upset with himself more than anything. Mahomes admitted to his frustrations last season and said this season he simplified things and is playing fast. Allen needs to do the same, the ball needs to come out of his hand faster or he needs to take off and run sooner.
