  1. Past hour
  2. For years I've wanted a Saturday night Super Bowl, but there's no way the league and the hosting cities will give up the extra day of revenue. A few years before the Bills' first Super Bowl, the kickoff time was changed to 6:30-ish to accommodate the west coast and make it more of a prime time event that would be a lead-in for a new show the network was premiering. Before that, there were 2:30 and 4:30 starts that were far better for us easterners to have Super Bowl parties. I'm older now, so the whole party thing isn't as appealing, and by the time the game is ended around 10:15, I'm ready to hit the pillow.
  3. It's really not. We all know that Beane and McDermott place a high value on ST contributors - Andre Roberts, Jake Kumerow, Trent Sherfield, Siran Neal, Tyler Matakevich. Andre' Holmes is actually a fine comparator because Holmes also made his mark in the league as a ST'er. Andre Roberts had less than 200 receiving yards each season, for the 4 seasons before we signed him. Do we really think that Beane couldn't have found a better back up LB than Matakevich or a better dime back/back up slot corner than Siran Neal? Of course he could have, they were "roster locks" for their ST chops. So no, while I don't love the state of the WR room, having Hollins considered a "roster lock" really has nothing to do with the state of the WR room and everything to do with ST. And no, Hollins will not be the #4 WR - #5 or #6 probably, I think this is likely a year we keep 6.
  4. In 1963 I was an intern at a Boston hospital, a rabid Bills fan in a sea of Patsies fans. We were playing the Patriots in a critically important game. I desperately wanted to go but the game was a sellout and I didn’t have any money anyway. I decided to write Ralph and ask him if there was any way I could get tickets. To my amazement he wrote back a very nice letter with 2 tickets up near the press box. My wife and I went , saw a close game in a snow covered field, but of course we lost when there was a third down and a yard to go for the Boston Patriots when their running back broke through for a long touchdown, game winning run. Ever since then it’s been— wait till next year!!
  5. I was told by many here that a 6'1 169 pound guy can be our number 1 and the weight wouldn't be an issue because small quick guys are hard to jam off the line ... LOL
  6. Eh , we have way more depth, won't be seeing Andy Isabella getting significant reps in a divisional playoff game
  7. When conducting an investigation on missing documents with national secrets, the most important thing for the government is to retrieve the documents and assess if any damage was done to national security. To do this, they need to take the documents into possession and perform an intelligence review. However, separately from this, the DoJ will want to preserve the evidence for potential charges. To satisfy both requirements, when investigators found an intelligence document they took it for the intelligence review but put a placeholder in its place so that the DoJ would know that there was an intelligence document there and it would reference which document was removed. This allows the intelligence investigation to continue with the documents being returned to their proper place while still allowing law enforcement to examine the evidence as part of its investigation. Additionally, the language about use of force in a search warrant is standard boilerplate. Any time armed law enforcement officers are being sent to execute a search, you would expect to see that language. It’s not in there for a shootout with the Secret Service. It’s in there because it’s in basically every search warrant.
  8. I hope he on returns. More opportunity to get snapped in half
  9. It's just a sarcastic meme "conspiracy theory" amongst the kids to show how dumb info can be spread and believed. Yes, exactly.
  10. Hollins has evidently been voted a team captain pretty much, like, everywhere he's played - including an offensive team captain on teams like the Dolphins where he primarily played ST. Including places where he only played one year. I think that says all one needs to know about how he's regarded in the locker room.
  11. I sees couple comments on this so thought I’d chime in: The “birds aren’t real movement” is a direct mockery of all the nutso conspiracy theories that have cropped up over the last several years. The guy who started it did such a good job making fun of people with this that some folks think it’s actually a “real” conspiracy theory (as much of an oxymoron as that sentence is). quite hilarious in my opinion. “Birds Aren't Real is a satirical conspiracy theory which posits that birds are actually drones operated by the United States government to spy on American citizens”
  12. 3 of the last 4 years he had 250 or less receiving yards. His career arc prior to signing with us is almost identical to Andre Holmes before he signed with us. Giving him guaranteed money is one of the weirdest signings of Beane's tenure. It's really just a poor testament to the state of the WR room that he's a roster lock instead of on the roster bubble. I wish the 4th WR on our depth chart wasn't known for just his "big personality" but I've accepted it. The only thing I don't understand is why some people are trying to make him out to be more than he is?
  13. Even more so for Sports media/journalism. Folks act like it should be some institution of integrity. It has always been merely a marketing arm for the entertainment leagues that are covered. We arent solving world hunger over here.
  14. All right now. This goes back a long time ago. I was 9 or 10 years old and the Bills were practicing in Blasdell I believe at the Camelot motel. They had an autograph session and handed out 8x10 black and white glossies that they autographed. There was Tom Sestak, Darryl Lamonica, Pete Gogolak and Dick Hudson. I remember how massive Tom Sestak seemed to me. Just a giant of a man. I still have those autographed photos! Go Bills!🏈
  15. Worthy's going to grow 5 inches and gain 39 lbs? That be really impressive.
  16. You sound like the most out of touch Boomer on the planet. People are getting dumber because they wait longer to get married and as a result, don't have a firm grasp on what real life is like? Do you hear yourself? Waiting longer to get married could also result in more stable financial security, lower divorce rates, and women having the ability to start careers the same way men do. There are lots of reasons why society may be "getting dumber" but later marriages isn't in the top 100. If anything, people are "getting dumber" because they're getting more of their information from uninformed takes they read on the internet every day... Nor does any of that have anything to do with college football finally getting past the free labor business model it has enjoyed for decades, where the schools got rich and players got zilch. That system was fundamentally unfair and became more so in today's polarized economy. Defending the old model because it was "smarter" makes you sound horribly reactionary and frankly, over the hill.
  17. That time Scarlett Johansson saw me wearing a Bills hat and came home with me.
  18. One professor said that a student in the operating room could not identify a major artery when asked, then berated the professor for putting her on the spot. Another said that students at the end of their clinical rotations don't know basic lab tests and, in some cases, are unable to present patients. "I don't know how some of these students are going to be junior doctors," the professor said. "Faculty are seeing a shocking decline in knowledge of medical students." DEI IS AWESOME!!
  19. Sounds like the orange dude was more than cooperative with FBI and even ignored lhis legal counsel in allowing the FBI full access to MAL documents months before the raid... This according to AN OFFICIAL FBI REPORT... But sure, it's standard op to raid a SS protectee with authorized lethal force in these situations.
