I am going to make two points here First is that the headline business definitely runs the other direction also. Look at anything Homelander posts and you will agree. Second is that the profession of journalism is not what it was 25 years ago, truly it is hardly a shadow of that time. I know for a fact that when Tony Dungy was fired from the Buccaneers his agent immediately called ESPN but ESPN did not run that story until the team confirmed, which was hours later. That was a sport network on a smaller story but they wanted confirmation. Today they print garbage intentionally so long as it grabs the readers attention.

Damn I was hoping to get them later in the season after Henry racked up more miles and Lamar is due for another mid-season injury. Missing Hoecht for that game is going to suck too. Would I bet on it with my own money? No thank you. Cleveland really had to keep Garrett happy to save face. Hendrickson, for as good as he’s been, is not a star. To pay the 4th most popular player and the gap from 3rd to 4th being massive in terms of recognition, that much money, you need to be sure he’s worth it. With age being a real concern and not enough star power to justify the move initially and take the risk on lower production, it’s probably not a good investment for the Bengals. For a team that’s on the cusp and thinks an elite pass rusher puts them over the top THIS YEAR, sure take the risk, think of Miller to the Bills. If you win a SB nobody is going to argue, or at very least if you get close, it’s acceptable. The Bengals D really can’t be that much worse without him, they have gone all in on Burrow being able to lead the charge. In their case, I think they would be better served to get what they can get and move on. Should have done it before the draft, but maybe they thought they were going to be able to do something with him.
