Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
The Firebaugh Kid replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t be surprised when he outperforms everybody’s expectations. He’s a very skilled route runner, he gets open, he’s got great hands and great footwork, and he’s fast as hell. That’s a hard yes for me. -
I thought the same thing but they didn’t. I can say with 100% certainty that they picked Bills and Packers. Assuming that the league obliges, we won’t be heading to Ireland.

Cooper Kupp did fine with his first QB, but he exploded when Stafford arrived. He went from 974 yards to 1947. Since then he's been slowed by injuries. So, there is one. But I agree. I'm not expecting Moore to double his previous season's output. Still, he's moving on from two disorganized teams without quarterbacks to a team whose offense is designed to get every guy open sooner or later, with a good quarterback, he's gotta think he's turned some kind of corner. -

Codrington is amazing. NFW -
I am surprised they didn't protect their home game vs their biggest rival the Ravens. Especially since that is the team the Steelers will have to get by to win the division.

He's going to have to learn better hand fighting. Too many times last year the DB got their hands on him early to break up his timing. He's not going to beat them with quickness or speed so he's going to have out physical them....which he wasn't consistent with and then almost nothing after the injury. I think maturity is another thing. If he doesn't improve on those, he will be a Gabe Davis level production type guy.

Im not making that argument. He is: But Douglas Irwin’s new book, Peddling Protectionism, has convinced me that Smoot-Hawley, though bad, was even less important than I had thought. https://www.cato.org/regulation/fall-2011/book-review-peddling-protectionism-smoot-hawley-great-depression I’m open - due to all the wrong people saying the exact same thing about Trump and tariffs - absolutely open to multiple perspectives on this especially the people behind Trump and Trump himself who’s been consistent on tariffs for 40 years. Why in the world give all the “group think” on tariffs and the political risks that come with that is Trump so adamant we need them? It’s fascinating. To immediately brush it off as insane - that’s insane to me. And btw, just like Smoot was in no way responsible for the depression and its impact debatable, do I think tariffs are some magic elixir. Lots of other things have to happen. -

I rearranged your list a little Shakir Coleman Moore/Palmer rotation Samuel Palmer -
I put it in another thread but it’s unlikely. Each home team asks the league to protect 2 games. They pretty much always oblige (maybe even always). The Steelers have asked the league to protect the Bills and Packers.

I came here to say one thing, but now I have two: First, thanks to @GASabresIUFan for doing this. It's fabulous. And thanks to the contributors here. I've just started looking through the thread, and there's really a lot of good discussion about particular positions and players. Great stuff!!! Second, I didn't want to start a new thread to say this, and this seemed like a good place to say it: I'm quietly excited about this team. All over the roster. Safety troubles me some, and the linebacking feels a bit thin, but both the defensive line and corner back depth looks to be exceptional. I think we'll see some high level play out of the defense this season. Offense has talent and depth on the offensive line (someone suggests Lundt will get cut, but he apparently is a talented and exceptionally motivated guy). Running back room is unchanged, and if it produces as well as last season, that's great. Receiving corps got the job done last season, and it seems to be upgraded nicely, with Palmer replacing the shoeless wonder and now Moore added to the mix. You know your team is good when an item worth discussing here is why an unknown quarterback will make the practice squad because his wife is a good social organizing force among the players' wives! As I said, I'm quietly excited. -

I don't see where one could argue it wasn't, You're correct both were big factors. That being said, I think the way the Dline performed so well to set the tone for the entire defense as a whole was what made the most difference by a good margin imo. -
Body control and size. The upside with him is he becomes a player that can consistently box out defenders to create leverage and then contort for the ball in the air. His best case scenario profile was never Stefon Diggs, it's Brandon Marshall. Obviously he has a long way to go to hit that ceiling.
-
We shall soon see. AT BEST I see him as a bridge type QB but the impossible pressure on whatever franchise is cursed with him to make him the face of said franchise won't allow for that. I don't think you can separate that and all that brings from his mediocre skillset. Holding the ball too long is poison in the NFL, as are gimmick plays

Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?

...and that Curtis Samuel and Dalton Kincaid are actually healthy this year. Lots went wrong before we made that Cooper trade. -

I have to be so thankful that it was 2005 and not 2025 with a Ring Indoor Camera. I would have been on Youtube by now.
