Los Angeles under military attack
SectionC3 replied to Joe Ferguson forever's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What's your point? You whitewash it because it suits your political interests. All of the MAGA whining about rule of law and law and order is empty and strictly convenient. J6 was "overblown," and we don't have to follow court decisions we don't like, says MAGA. You're a bunch of hypocrites on at least this issue. -
LA Mayor Karen Bass: Marxist
BillsFanNC replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Understand that Karen Bass was on Biden's VP short list. That an unabashed Castro admirer made it within even a sniff of VP tells you all you need to know about the current Democrat party. Of course Kamala's a Marxist just the same, but you needed to read the tea leaves a bit on her, Bass is just out there as an open Marxist. -

Enjoy the tax giveaways for the rich. And the monster deficits that flow therefrom that are going to weaken the value of your hard earned. Maybe trickle down will actually work someday. I doubt it, but every once in awhile a blind squirrel gets a nut. -

J6 But do we need the Marines? No. Did the governor ask for the Marines or the National Guard? No. And if we're so eager to employ the National Guard, then why not have done so on J6? It's a manufactured crisis. Violence is not the solution. There are rioters in addition to protesters here, and the rioters are wrong. They should not harm or threaten to harm LEOs. For that they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Same thing goes for property damage. Can't happen. It is not the way. So too is the response wrong. Putting aside the rank hypocrisy in employing the National Guard here, but not on J6, the President is supposed to be a voice of calm and reason. There simply is no reason for the federal government to intercede in this way and at this juncture in what is principally a local matter. -

From an emotional perspective, I understand and appreciate what you’re saying. Individuals and families seeking a better way of life for themselves and their families is an age old story and an orderly and process-driven system for legal immigration is what every decent and reasonable person should hope for. We haven’t had that, and people on both sides of the border have been victimized. “Legal or not” is where the problem begins, and separating families is pretty common in that situation. As for resistance, if the standard response to emotional decisions is rioting and violence against law enforcement, the outcome would typically not be “Well, forget it, let’s just let it go.”. The better alternative is compliance with laws and regulations. This situation has been decades in the making and the responsibility falls squarely on the politicians representing our country for the last several decades. It’s exacerbated now by Democrat and liberal leaders who actively encourage defiance of our laws, regulations and sovereignty. It seems from photos and videos that the local authorities are unable to handle the situation, which involves federal personnel on the ground being targeted with violence. Politics plays a huge part in the response, and if reporting from the feds in this case is to be believed, it sounded as if LAPD would rather see federal law enforcement hurt/injured/killed than render assistance. Like the law, hate the regulation, hate enforcement…but the actions of individuals assaulting law enforcement officers, destroying private property, shutting down traffic and terrorizing neighborhoods is clearly a very dangerous situation. Those responsible for violent intercession are playing chess as well. -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

I think my rep told me that that area is actually public and can enter on GameDay. There are two security checkpoints. One to get into that parkway area which is public and then the ticket gate. Early security could be a disaster. -

Well said, and accurate. The proof will be in the pudding when the "Bush" Republicans get the party back and the Democrats return to emphasizing economic populism as opposed to fringe social issues. Will MAGA vote Democrat? Or will it have been so poisoned by Trump's lies and vitriol that it continues to largely vote against its own economic interests? Time will tell. -
I think more broad strokes is sure, elite defender would be nice. Another elite offensive player would also be nice. The difference between "enough to win" or "almost won" is a handful of offensive or defensive plays. Having as many players as possible to make them is the goal.

Once again I'll tell you this. Trump can be a narcissistic, blowhard dickweed at the very same time as being behind issues that the majority of Americans support. Many of these are issues that were never even close to left/right wedge issues 15 years ago, but now they are only because Democrats abandoned sanity. So we had an election and you ended up with a guy you despise for his personality traits as POTUS because he didn't abandon sane values that the vast majority of the country support. My advice would be to stop raging at the orange guy and instead focus your rage on the party that completely abandoned sanity on 80/20 issues that in turn handed the guy you despise 1600 Pennsylvania avenue on a silver platter. -
It took me a while to understand....and I am still reeling

Don't disagree, but "if" the offense is going to be run centric? It 100% has been under Joe Brady. Look at that "top 2 QB's" passing numbers last year: Passing Yards - 14th Comp % - 24th Attempts - 14th Yrd/Completion - 9th Passing TDs - T7th Joe Brady is a "run first" guy. Or at least he has been to this point.

You can't see him because he is standing sideways. He is the Calista Flockhart of the NFL. -

The starting lineups of elite college teams are definitely not 95% future salesmen. The majority of Ohio State starters are going to see the NFL in some capacity, and the rest will be in the CFL, or the UFL. I agree, a guy like Kyle McCord who couldn’t cut it at Ohio State in 2023 would probably be the best UFL QB. There are a lot of college teams that have better QB play than anyone in the UFL. NFL rosters often carry up to three QB’s. The NFL is taking most of the QB talent, that leaves the UFL with nothing at the position.
