  1. Past hour
  2. and they probably want to feature Dallas before the team’s record can get too bad.
  3. agree. We need invest in some jaded influencers, cartoons of D pols with superman bodies and memes. Talking sense no longer works for us.
  4. interesting from Schefter/Mcafee talking about the social teams for the NFL for the official schedule release. Apparently "the bills have a good one".
  5. Where? There's virtually no way 2 or 3 of those games aren't night games
  6. In the words of the immortal Weird Al... "Dare to be stupid."
  7. I am well aware of the UFL involvement. That is why I said the transparency helps keep the UFL honest. Refereeing has everything to do with profits from gambling partners. How many games last year were determined by questionable calls? It is not just a win or a loss, but about point differentials for gambling. Sharing the take from a gambling book is not the only way the NFL can get profit from books; if you are in a partnership with a company, you will favor it over a non-partner. If you share profits with bookies and provide the referees who determine the game, a lack of transparency in their decisions is very unhealthy and opens you up to valid suspicions. The NFL has always had an integrity issue. If it is about profit and loss, a business will often find a way to fudge the outcome. To think otherwise is naive. That is what better transparency is for, to lessen suspicions.
  8. Here's the first medicare drug negotiations bill that passed. Check how the parties voted. https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/fact-sheets/medicare-drug-price-negotiation-program-negotiated-prices-initial-price-applicability-year-2026 In August 2022, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (P.L. 117-169) into law. The law makes improvements to Medicare by expanding benefits, lowering drug costs, and improving the sustainability of the Medicare program for generations to come. The law provides meaningful financial relief for millions of people with Medicare by improving access to affordable treatments and strengthening Medicare, both now and in the long run. For the first time, the law provides Medicare the ability to directly negotiate the prices of certain high expenditure, single source drugs without generic or biosimilar competition. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) selected ten drugs covered under Medicare Part D for the first cycle of negotiations for initial price applicability year 2026 and engaged in voluntary negotiations with the drug companies for the selected drugs. Below is the list of negotiated prices, which the statute refers to as Maximum Fair Prices (MFPs), for 10 drugs covered under Medicare Part D that will go into effect beginning January 1, 2026, based on negotiations and agreements reached between CMS and participating drug companies.
  9. Yeah. Democrats suck at marketing. Bernie Sanders has been campaigning on this ad nauseum once he came on the scene 10 or so years ago.
  10. There are few independent thinkers on either side of the isle. Rare is the Senator or Representative that breaks rank on votes. Rarer still is bi-partisan collaboration. I suspect if Trump worked with Congressional leadership to legislate lower drug prices few to none Democrats would vote "yes". Because, well you know why. The dictator narrative prohibits the President from being viewed as following the Constitution.
  11. The Bills defense is even in its lesser years still a better than average NFL defense. It has just come up short against KC (and a few other times) in the playoffs. Typically better offenses in the playoffs have given the Bills issues. What I hope the heavy defensive emphasis in free agency and the draft (mainly targeted towards the D-line and CB spots although safety had some moderate additions) is that it helps raise the defenses "ceiling" so to speak. The Bills haven't had that elite defense that's gonna take out top 10 (let alone top 5) offenses consistently. I think this year is gonna test the theory that maybe McD's defensive gameplan just doesn't work against elite teams in the playoffs. I think he has the talent on the defense to make it work.
  12. A man of the people. It appears he's more conservative than Francis but significantly more liberal than Benedict or John Paul II. Fine with me. I understand and agree with the Church' stance on abortion. I would never be involved in one. But they can stop endorsing candidates based solely on this. I'm hoping he will move us in that direction. Social justice, the value of all life (including migrants) is clearly a priority. I've seen somewhere that he also holds Francis' views on climate.
  13. For suckers only though…
  14. Phillys home schedule is brutally bad Detroit should have been the obvious choice but after Detroit the next best are the commanders/ bears/cowboys
  15. Optimism leads to hope, hope leads to belief, belief leads to suffering. Pretty sure that Yoda guy said this. I wrote about this on another thread but I try hard not to really believe. I dunno, I guess for me it makes it a little easier when they lose. Last time I really believed was the end of the AFCCG. Three minutes left, down by three, able to go at least tie it if not win it. I was like, "This is it, man. They're gonna knock off these red rat bastids and go to the Super Bowl! This is it, here we go!" And then we all know what happened. I was kickin' rocks for a week. I'm always hopeful. I always want them to win, and there are a number of games I definitely feel like, "Yeah, they should stomp this team" but when I turn that into belief that's when they wind up and slug me right in the junk.
  16. They will have that guy with the big ears trying to pump up the Jets vs. Saints as game of the week.
  17. What's wrong with being thin? And what's eating Gibert Grape?
  18. The ratings always do well with them even when they suck. Unfortunately.
  19. Dude has is own brand to market. Wasn't going to do it by keeping the same name as an MVP player.
  20. This game is the definition of the "larry david" reaction gif. We get to watch philly beat dallas. Philly fans are insufferable but Dallas loses. We get to watch Dallas beat Philly. Dallas fans are insufferable but Philly loses.
  21. Pfizer, Merck, J&J, Eli Lilly all doing well today. You are completely clueless as indicated by your earlier post. That much is obvious. On the bright side for you, take the profits immediately and run with them. Think of the whining and embarrassment it will save you. https://www.barrons.com/articles/pfizer-merck-stock-pharma-prices-trump-dbab7d47 🤦🏻🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️
  22. If I'm remembering correctly, Tony Greene's injury killed us that year. Greene was heart and soul of the defense.
  23. That year, and in particular that loss to Miami that eliminated us from playoff contention, is probably my earliest Bills memory that I can retrieve. It's why I still hate the Dolphins with the heat of a thousand suns to this very day.
