I was actually thinking more of a short plane ride than a long drive, considering these are multi-millionaire NFL players we are talking about. Jacksonville is an extremely short plane ride from Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Tampa.

I guess you have your opinions about Buffalo. I know when my parents grew up, they spoke of Buffalo as a much grander city than it is now.

It's depressed no doubt, and it was grander at one point. But Buffalo is still far superior - at least in my opinion - to places like Orlando, Tampa, etc. I hate those places, although I do realize that many people like them.

right, in your opinion. and in my opinion as well, id take Buffalo over Orlando and Tampa and Daytona. but for the types of places Willis was looking for... he's better off out of Buffalo.

im down in atlanta. ive been to the clubs that vick and the falcons hang out in. those are the types of places Willis wants to be. there is nothing like them in Buffalo.

thank god.

The most hilarious thing about McDoofus's pronouncements about the relative merits of American urban regions is that he's now in ... Baltimore.

Don't get me wrong -- I like Baltimore. It's got a great history, and it's a northern industrial city like Buffalo. But the city is also an utter mess, with homicide rates that are among the top three nationally pretty much every year. Indeed, a couple of years ago, there was a lead story in the Baltimore Sun about how heroin overdose deaths in Baltimore had finally surpassed the number of homicides (they had been close for years). We're talking close to 400 *heroin overdose deaths* a year!! Its economy is terrible, and not much better than Buffalo's (if at all). There's a reason that shows like the Wire and Homicide are always set in Baltimore. In fact, a pretty good academic book about how broken-windows policing isn't actually the panacea that everyone thought it was uses -- you guessed it -- Baltimore to disprove the theory (Baltimore never underwent a crime decline in the late 1990s despite adopting those sorts of policing methods).

But hey, Willis probably isn't go to live in the city anyway, and I hear the women in the suburban Baltimore TGIF's and Applebee's are mighty fine.

You don't get it? That's paradise for McGoofus. You think he worries about how good the schools are, or how many drive-by shootings a place has? All you need to know about him is in the line about fame in that story. He hated Buffalo because there was no thug scene where he could hold court and have lots of ho's yank his fo'shizzle. Baltimore is no Miami but it'll do for McGoofus...until he gets busted or shot in a drive-by.

Rochester, is a better party scene than Buffalo if you ask me. East Ave, Monroe Ave, and Lake Ave are the main destinations.

Those pictures look an awful like North Collins.

Time must have changed.

I graduated from RIT in 1981. Buffalo had it all over Rochester in the night life area back then.

Buffalo is not and never will be NYC, Miami or LA. That is what he wants. I get the feeling the moron never left OP. Buffalo/NF and Southern Ontario have a lot to do and also he is here for the best times of year. He should have been here March thru Jan. He could then go back to Miami Jan/Feb and part of March. Anyone who has been to Chippewa, Sunset Bay, the casinos, the jet boats, Niagara on the lake, NF during the spring/summer/fall knows it is a great place!! Let me tell you, if you lived in Foxboro there is nothing to do there--OP is better than Foxboro which is closer to Providence than Boston. And whoever said Boston closes bars at 1am is correct---I just lived there for 5 years. If you are lazy, intellectually challenged like Mr McGahee then living in your suburban house in OP will be boring for a young single guy. However, it does not take much, especially when you have the money to do it to have fun in WNY--especially given the fact you are there as a football player for the best months weather wise. Kelly, Thomas, Bennett, Moulds etc... all found plenty to do. I've lived in DC and Boston which are terrific cities with a lot to do---but somehow I don't see Willis spending time at the Smithsonian exhibits, the Memorials etc... What he is interested in is hanging out with movie stars, models etc... But Willis--you are not going to get that in Baltimore either!

A bar in Boston that is open past 2 am is one that will be shut down by the authorities the next week.

I guess you know more about it then I do. I know of Sidebar, which has been open for a while and it is open past 2am.

That comes down to personal opinion. I will always love the Buffalo Bills, but if I had the money to live in Florida, and fly up to see the games then I would definately rather be in Florida.

Thats just my opinion. It seems as if everytime im in Buffalo there is not much to do. Rochester, has three major streets with just a ton to do. East, Monroe, and Lake are full of fun ... including fun that doesnt require someone being intoxicated.

Debating whether Buffalo or Rochester is more exciting is like arguing what brand of paint dries faster. ;)

Is this a joke?

Baltimore, I believe, has the upper hand over us. Jacksonville definately so, due to the fact that it is very close by to other major cities. Green Bay is about the size of Hamburg, so that doesnt even count. The others im not sure about.

I really really really doubt they close past 2am in Buffalo. Have you strolled the streets in Buffalo past midnight? Its a ghosttown. Other major cities there are a ton of people still up and having fun. Im not sure about San Fran, but I was in Boston/Providence a few months ago and we left a bar at nearly 2AM and it was still open.

Re: Jacksonville being cloe to a major city. Name ONE that's closer than Toronto is to Buffalo. I live 45 minutes from Jacksonville, I have a pretty good idea what's around here.

Re: Bar closing times, you are just flat-out wrong. Bars can (and some do) close early, but Buffalo closing time is one of the latest in the country. They start roling up the sidewalks in Boston(not to mention Foxborough) before 2am. Try to get something to eat in Boston after 11pm.

While I disagree with your Rochester/Buffalo comparison, even it you are right, R-town is closer to Buffalo than any MAJOR city is to Jacksonville.

The point is, it's not about bars...or closing times...or pretty women. It's about a STAR lifestye...and that isn't one of Buffalo's strong points (thank God). What's important to him is NOT what's important to us. Working class folks in neighborhood bars probably don't appeal to him.

in allentown? the pink, hardware, frizzy's...

elmwood? Coles, Merlin's(if youre not afraid to 'slum' it), the martini bar across from Merlin's, Toro and the place next to Toro (sorry, names are escaping me, i havent LIVED in buffalo in almost 2 years, but im back often to visit and we always hit all the old haunts)

the Mohawk is a great place to drink and an even better place to see a show. bands dont usually take the stage until 1am or so.

:D Merlins is the best bar on Elmwood. I don't consider that "slumming it", but I'm sure Willis wouldn't be caught dead there. IMO, the dumpier the bar, the better. ;)

To support your point, many, many, many bars are open til (and past) closing in WNY. And there are many many many bars in WNY.

I hope he fails miserably in Baltimore.

His mother sounds like an incredible person though, props to her.

Seriously, build a bridge and get over it people. Quit being so sensitive......I hate to sound cliche but revenge is like swallowing the poison yourself and hoping somebody else dies....let it go already.

He's a Raven, he's a millionaire and he doesn't like Buffalo...whoop dee do.

Let's have a solid draft and wait until he has to bring his punk ass to Buffalo this season. But until then, let it go.

I'm happily rid of that bag of worthless... ugh...

All he did was go home and play video games? Bet he changed his stats in Madden, probably traded himself to the Patriots and won numerous Super Bowls... even though he had to cheat with the "Human Plow" (wishing he had that in real life).

Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish.

I haven't been back to Buffalo for a couple years, aside from the great fast food places like Mighty Taco (I miss you most of all) Teds, Andersons, Bocci pizza etc.. I miss the local watering holes that serve great food at great prices much more than the fancy clubs. For McGahee and people looking for what he is looking for in nightlife, no other city in the country can touch Miami. I think Willis will be disapointed with the nightlife in Baltamore.

This guy is a true ass whole. He must have A.P.S (Active pen!s syndrome).

But newho...

I was reading that the guys on the Buffalo Bills.com message boards are thinking about throwing condoms at Willis when he enters the stadium. That would be great!!
