I love Metallica but they are a metal band in my opinion and don't think they really belong in the greatest rock band of all time category. Just my opinion. Really entertaining read. If you're into the early indie rock/hardcore scene stuff, this book is a pretty good read. So is Legs McNeil's book "Please Kill me." Hell, even Skynard were pretty incredible...especially if you were a redneck growing up. But if I recall, you're something of a young'n and probably didn't grow up with either the Eagles or Skynard playing in the background, so I can understand your thinking somewhat.
