I love your optimism brother, but I think you are detracting from what Josh Allen and the Bills were able to do.. That was a superhuman feat for us to claw our way out from a 21pt hole.. I hate New England as much as you do, but what Buffalo was able to do was incredible..

I think Maye is a solid tier 2 type - like a Dak, Kirk Cousins, CJ Stroud, etc.  IMO, he is super close to his ceiling.

Lol based on the fact year one showed promise and year 2 he has been elite level..  he hasn’t even come close to his ceiling yet he is 23 and still growing into his abilities and more importantly his knowledge of the game..  he will be top 5 IMO.

Maye is/likely will be a very good quarterback in the NFL. 
 

Maye is not Allen, and will likely never come close to it.

I think BOTH teams need be concerned about their Defense. I am hoping Williams coming back for the Jets game fixes the Pats Run D which was elite till he went down.. who was missing from the Bills for run D? Theirs looked awful.. Henderson ran wild and I loved the block/ get in the way by Maye that helped him  score the last TD that gave the Pats the lead with less than 4 minutes to go..

That can sometimes work better as may not to pay the guy a kings ransom on his next contract.  There was a thread about this Cosell column pointed out that the Bills don't have enough playmakers.  That's kind of true or all teams with top level elite QB's as not enough money left.  Bills, Chiefs, Ravens all have that same problem.

If you are on this board and a serious NFL fan, do you really need to be told that Ed, Hoecht and Bernard were missing?

 

And Benford, more importantly, which impacts how we decide to play coverage vs run.

 

Either get up to speed or stop posting ridiculous posts.

What threat on O does he have? Diggs? An old and possession receiver now? Boutte ? He is a good solid low end 2 at best..  you do t need a big frame to be successful, neither Brady or Rogers have a big frame.. what I am hoping and am pretty sure will happen is his Football IQ keeps getting better and by year 5 he is t surprised by anything he sees.. he rarely is now.. that will happen with good coaches and time.. which he has at age 23..

If Maye gets a second contract, the Pats will be paying through the nose for it.  They won’t have to pay him as much as Josh, but they’ll have to pay him enough that it’ll impact the rest of their roster.  This is true of all QBs who get a second contract from their first team, whether or not they’re top five.

First I wasn’t able seethe game so I didn’t know who missed it.. Oh and get up to speed yourself your team stunk all year against the run your ranked I think 30th? Maybe 31st? I know if we face the Bills again they should have the reason for our Run D being sub par fixed… will the bills? That said in a better way for you?

Seriously man, take a breather....Maye looked mediocre in this game.  Poyer should've picked off a pass, maybe a pick 6 before Tre interception. 

 

Maye was completely junk in 2nd half.  When New England had to overcome 35-31, they went 7 plays for 2 yards.  

 

And youre somehow commenting on the Bills D/this game?  New England shouldn't have even scored on 1st drive, but even without replay assist, NE scored just 7 points in 2nd half.

 

Sorry 7 points in 2nd half, isnt getting it done in playoffs...from your supposed young and blossoming QB

Not downplaying what the Bills did today. Allen and team are amazing. They’ve been for years.  
 

But I am downplaying Maye. Good young game manager QB. Reminds me of a younger, less dynamic Herbert. Prototypical size, decent mobility, good arm, carried by a good surrounding cast and a weak schedule.
 

But superstar whose ugly mug needs to be on camera every 5 seconds, he is not. Way overpromoted and crowned way too early by overzealous fans and media.

We're about 5 years away from big cap hits of a hypothetical Maye extension. They're going to be big players in FA this coming offseason and for the foreseeable future.

This is hilarious and can tell you or the other poster never watched him played. Most of his " spectacular" plays he has made are off platform plays. Nothing designed...

 

And he should not be Josh Allen or any other QB in the NFL, he is only in his 2nd year..mind you this same 2nd year QB is in The MVP convo. This game doesn't disqualified him from it.

Hmm I thought he played very poorly when the pressure was on in the second half. I also think he’s a very good young QB and will be a challenge for the Bills. If Josh performed like that with a 21 point lead he would be getting lit up on this thread.

And so was Washington this offseason.  Never a guarantee.  Your best bet, for NE fans, is Maye becomes elite. 

 

He isnt yet, and so many 2nd year jumps for QBs that then regress.  Its not a sure thing, until Maye proves he can take another big leap
