Again, the most encouraging development in the Steelers game were the contributions made by Ray Davis and Ty Johnson.

It gives one hope that we won't run James Cook into the ground before the playoffs even begin.

depends how well that is working and how well our D is doing. They start falling behind it’s not going to be good.

Agreed. Burrow won’t be the complete mess that the Steelers were at QB. It’s going to be an epic high scoring game in my opinion with no pass rush on our side and Josh having to put on his cape all game

I expect the Bengals to do what Miami did. Load up the box with 8 or 9 and dare us to beat them with the pass. They'll also cheat guys in to stop the passes behind the LOS.  It's gonna take some good strategery to beat this but it's doable.  Hopefully some good scramble drill plays and quick hitting passes to guys schemed open somehow. More passes to Cooks.

I like the idea of keeping Turf Toe Joe off the field, but if we go this route we have to score TDs. Can't have drives stalling out or settling for too many FGs.

If Coach McDermott and his defense can slow down Burrow, Higgins and Chase they deserve something really great.

Should be an interesting/tough game.  Hoping for a Bills win.

I'm not feeling great about this game without Bosa and Epenesa

It doesn’t help when our offense has disappeared and been wildly inconsistent this whole season outside the KC game.

If our offense plays like they did against KC and we control the game script, I think we win. But if we are in a tit for tat battle or fall behind I think we are toast.

Cook is second in the league [to McCaffrey] in carries, so that horse has left the barn. 231 carries through 12 games, Last season he had 207 for the 17 game season.  He's on pace for 325 carries and that's not factoring teams run more in cold weather and we have three more home games plus at NE & @ Cleve outdoors.  I do worry with all the outdoor games, our nicked up lineman are not going to be at full strength.

How’s that worked out for us this season?

Cook and the OL are the key to helping out the defense. The Bills defense isn't stopping the Bengals. So, running the ball and controlling the clock which the Bills should be able to do as the Bengals defense also sucks will protect the Bills defense. Burrow isn't dangerous if he is sitting on the bench.

Hopefully that works. I just have a feeling it’ll be a lot of fireworks on Sunday

Considering they only shoot off fireworks when we score, I hope you are correct.

Nah, it was for more than that. They gave WRs too much cushion. Plus our DL and OL got dominated and pushed around.

It was so bad our guys looked like we were slipping and wore wrong cleats. Playing on skates.

172 yards on the ground was cincys 2nd highest total of the year.  Buffalo also had more penalties and lost in time of possession by about 8 minutes.

Fact is dorsey was gone midway through the next season because he would fall into bad pass heavy habits.  Frazier was literally fired for this game plan.

As for their defense bottling up buffalo -

Reader gone

Bates gone

Pratt gone

Wilson gone

Hilton gone

Hubbard gone

Hendrickson out

Hasn't been that long but teams change pretty quickly in the NFL.

Good god, what a whiny thread.  Please get us to Sunday quickly.

This is just a primer.  Can you imagine next week's thread against the Patriots?? 🙂
