Those guys were the best defensive prospects in their respective drafts. Anderson went 3rd overall because of QB's and Carter was only available at 9th because of the fatal car accident he might have caused and refusing to work out. Despite those enormous red flags he went 9th. The Bills haven't had the ammo to trade up that high since the year they got Allen. I want Beane to do better but I don't expect him to find the 1 of 1 in drafts when he is drafting around 30 every year. Funny KC wins superbowls but finds these gems. Drafting high is a BS excuse. 1 1 Quote

They haven’t really done that (drafting) in a while. They’re pretty similar to us recently. We’ve both hit on some OL guys, but the offenses around the QB’s have been wildly mediocre. Neither team has a WR1 and with Kelce declining that becoming evident. On defense they still have Jones, but outside of that Karlaftis is Rousseau, they missed on Felix whatever his name is. They struggle to rush the passer without blitzing. They’re just way better coached than us and have had better injury luck in our playoff matchups. Reid is better on Offense and Spags is better on Defense. Spags dialed up a blitz from an alignment we hadn’t seen before on the play Allen had to chuck it up to Kincaid. Game over. jahnyc Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Solomon is a bust and we need a DE who has played DE (i.e., not Sanders). No idea if this means Bosa will be out and needs surgery on his wrist, but a DE was needed whether or not this is the case. Quote

I don't believe Kansas City has found more gems than us They had Chris Jones who is a future Hall of famer and Travis Kelce future Hall of famer before mahomes McDuffie is really good.. and so is Creed Humphrey.. but they were both pretty highly touted prospects.. Not top 10 guys but guys who scouts all said had tons of talent .. Creed was the number one center basically on every scouts board I do not believe they consistently turn fourth fifth sixth round picks into better players than the bills do Our development rate is basically the same if not even a little bit higher towards the bills over the last 7 years What we don't have is three future Hall of famers... But two of them were already on their team Edited 1 hour ago by Buffalo716 Quote

( THEY TRADED UP FOR HIM) The roster is in bigger trouble than I realized after really focusing on other teams today. Nobody wants to hear this but we might need to actually trade down a few times to get like 10-12 picks this off-season and basically retool the roster. Then hopefully have two deep draft classes to them go on a more serious run in 2027.... Don't get me wrong Josh Allen can take us pretty far and if he gets hot he is capable of taking us to the super bowl but I'm just trying to be realistic. I think this roster needs a lot more work than all of us are willing to admit. I'll be the first one to say I was probably wrong on a few players They just do not have enough impact play makers on defence Quote

Pecker Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This is a serious indictment of the scouting staff. To not have anyone in mind, at literally any position, from another teams practice squad is inexcusable. Quote

Im rooting for all these guys, and they're rusty old vets. I just don't see how they're getting us to the dance. I do know they'll play their hearts out. But it makes me upset seeing an older Tre get ran past. Taron Johnson was trying his best vs the Texans.... It's like watching an older boxer just barely hanging on. But I'm hoping like all of us Tre White or Milano , maybe Shaq make a great play in the playoffs to send us to the Superbowl. 6 minutes ago, ***** said: This is a serious indictment of the scouting staff. Gabe Hall - eagles ps dt/de Evan Anderson - 49ers dt Cobee Bryant - falcons cb Jabbar Muhammad - cb can't remember which team Chris Paul Jr - lb - Seahawks These are all rookies or younger guys on teams practice squads that are intriguing. Lots of trusted ppl like their tape I don't understand why Beane hasn't tried to get one of them. At least try Edited 1 hour ago by Kelly to Allen Quote

In fact there’s a number of great rookies this year taken, after tj sanders, including some of the highest rated at CB S and DE, all positions we needed. You couldn’t be more wrong 1 1 Quote

Other than Mahomes the last player in that Will Anderson/Jalen Carter type impact area for the Chiefs was Chris Jones 10 years ago.........well before their SB run began and pre-dating the McBeane era. Their drafting largely mirrors that of Buffalo since the McBeane era began. They just had a head start with Kelce, Tyreek and Jones all in place while the Bills basically nuked their roster in 2017 and started from scratch. Quote

Cant tell if that's sarcasm or not. In 2 games for Dallas, has 1.5 sacks. And apparently the Bills offered more than anyone for Williams. Jets just didn't take it. Quote

You couldn’t be more wrong Congratulations on hearing about a DB the Eagles took last year. 😂 A simple review of the drafts from year to year will show you that the majority of superstars are early picks and superstars found on day 3 are very rare. In fact, St Brown and Crosby were recently selected the best players EVER selected with those picks in the common draft era(1967-2024). In mathematical terms.....Beane has about a 1.7% chance of finding a player like that in round 4. No GM lasts long enough to even be at a point where they can be expected for find a perennial All Pro at a premium position with their 4th round picks(fingers crossed on Deone Walker). Bills Terrence McGee and Khalil Shakir were also all time best picks in the common era at their draft slots. Imagine THAT. There are guys like Domato Peko and Rob Burnett in spots as the greatest players ever picked at that number in round 4. 58 drafts and those names are the best from those slots. I'm not absolving Beane of not drafting better earlier but he's absolutely excelled on day 3. YOU couldn't be more wrong. Quote

McDuffie finished tied in the NFL DPOY(22nd) voting with Christian Benford last season. McDuffie is now a slot CB..........which basically excuses him from any "best CB in the NFL" talk but he probably is the best slot CB in the NFL. Bills day 3 pick Taron Johnson once held that claim. You getting my drift about Bills CB draft pick success or are you still mad at Beane for not drafting McDuffie instead of Elam when McDuffie was already off of the board? Quote
